  1. True. When I lived in Vancouver for 5 years, I skied Whistler mountain. Its worth a try for those visiting ..and you can rent.
  2. . Vacation, swimsuits, warm weather, and free-flowing alcohol. It doesn’t take much of an imagination to understand why a cruise makes seemingly every couple become overtaken with the urge to have a little hanky-panky on the balcony. Who wants to admit doing this? And is it really allowed? Love to read a few stories on this!
  3. I think frequent cruisers have all experience this more than once. Outside of specialty restaurants, I think the midnight thing is a good thing. With all the new technology, they can put replicators (as in star trek) in the rooms in the newer ships being built?
  4. Will have to mention that to the head chef and cruise director !
  5. Thats a 5 hour window! Never going to happen. Replenishing, staffing issues arise. It has to be much shorter, and people are still leaving the MDR at 10:pm! Oh we are a gluttonous crowd!
  6. wow! What year was that? I mean most people are in bed by then except for maybe a few gamblers.
  7. The earliest time usually would be about 11:30 am. But that is risky. You never know the hiccups that can occur. 1:00 pm is safer... If you want guaranteed flight then try Royal Caribbean's Air 2 Sea program for flights.... here's the link https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/air-to-sea-flight-travel-assistance-reservation
  8. BAM! Carnival names Emeril Lagasse as chief culinary officer . Wonder if that will help? Tried to find who is associated with Royal and for how long and how that is working out with the new menus and all.
  9. Lets admit that food waste is abundant in the Windjammer and the MDR. I think one midnight buffet per sail would be welcoming add on feature to make Royal stand out more with regards to cuisine choices for the week.
  10. I enjoy skiing , but like you have not done so for about 15 years. I suppose its like riding a bike.. you never forget? Further the older you get the more difficult it may become, so I think you need to be in relatively good physical shape. ( legs) Lastly, now you have an added cost as you may need to purchase new skis and boots for the family. Improvements are constantly being made year to year. So with the cost of fees added, this can be an expensive activity for the family. You gotta really love it I would presume to go all out.
  11. I suppose Im dating myself remembering back in the day cruise ships had midnight buffets, and ice sculptures. It was awesome. With all the cost saving measures in place , I cant ever see this happening again, unless we all start a petition to bring it back. With unlimited buffet food and the ability to order as much as you want in the dining room, cruises are known for decadence already ., without the need for another buffet?
  12. I mostly do b2b. But the points are not cumulative that way. Its only for the each leg of cruise.
  13. Once you check in online you will have to select a boarding time. Im in the same situation coming up next week. My flight leaves a 6:00am to ft lauderdale, and I will most likely arrive at ship by 9:30 am so it could mean a 2 hour or longer wait. Earliest to board is usually around 11:am and my earliest I could book on the app was 1:00pm, So I am hoping they will let me through providing the line ups are not crazy like they can be on Oasis class ships out of Bayonne.... it has been a nightmare over there in the past.
  14. I hope they do. A few changes would be welcoming .
  15. I just came off that ship recently out of Puerto Rico. Is it still the same port? if so Good luck. My experience was line ups galore all over the place. Jammed capacity.
  16. You are most likely too early to book online. You can always try to book it by phone. Otherwise keep trying every few days or so, or send an email
  17. Yes you can walk up and get a table, but you will wait. And my recent experience is a long time.... a very long time. Ive witnessed people waiting up to 2 hours for a table. So now I always get a reserved table for the whole week. Same waiter, same time. No worries then. Avoid My Time.
  18. Outside of cruises around the world, I was wondering what is the longest cruise Royal offers? Out of what ports? Longer cruises give a better opportunity to score up casino points to earn complimentary cruises up to a grand suite. Sometimes 7 days isn't enough , especially with a port every day.
  19. Try online, call, and send an email. Document all. Print out your email for proof. 100% money back. Everything I do is followed up with emails to supervisors, etc. It may take awhile to get a refund, but it always works for me.
  20. Thanks, Im aware of the customs regime, but Im specifically referring to on-line check-n on the app. Ive never done it before and had no issues, but this time I am changing rooms, so not so sure what will happen if I dont bother to check in. ? They have the data.
  21. I think its 6:30 but just check with guest services while on board.
  22. I keep getting emails to check in on 4 b2b. Is this really necessary?
  23. If the key is $25 a day, then its not worth it. Already get free internet as signature player. The cost of the key is a daily fee, and I dont think you can buy just one day. Further , if there are more than one party in your stateroom then each person must purchase the key as well. NOPE.
  24. Ya, I thought so, thanks. Well Maybe if I slip a $50 bill to somebody they will let me in... cash is king...lol., Im just one to hate lines.
