  1. If I just had to look at smokers I 100% wouldn't care just like I don't care what others wear. My issues is my allergies go insane around smokers and my husband ends up with sinus issues that many times ends in a sinus infection. So we avoid smokers and love that bans in Disney and other places allow us to do this easier. I wish I could spend money in a casino on a cruise ship, but with smoking there is zero enjoyment. So I feel your analogy fails on that end of things. I will say I am haven't been used to being around smoking. My dad stopped around me, I have never allowed it in my house or car, and restaurants have been non-smoking where I lived for 18+ years. I am just not around it often. But I also book hotels based on smoking status, so it is always something we think about when going places.
  2. My husband wasn't as lucky with his father smoking in the house/car with him. He has longterm issues because of it. I was in culture shock when I met his dad, because my dad stopped when the doctor said it wasn't good for him to smoke around me. So when his dad would light up next to me I was caught off guard. My husband and I avoid smokers because if he is around them too long he typically ends up having sinus issues. Luckily his dad quit when I put my foot down and said he couldn't be around his new grandkids if he smelled like smoke and he surely wasn't smoking at my house anymore even outside since he would come in smelling like a chimney
  3. If I had to guess too many people are cancelling later that are not vaccinated or don't like other policies like testing This is taking cabins away from others who may have booked them if they were available earlier. So this is probably discouraging people from booking and then cancelling. Once protocols are changed they know those people will then book so not like it is preventing them from getting actual customers who will actually sale.
  4. Ok, this is my worst nightmare being claustrophobic. I thought you were on a mat?
  5. I can't imagine the water too cold. We normally vacation in West Palm over Thanksgiving and water is close to 80 there.
  6. Thanks. He will be OK with that one, but probably disappointed he can't do the big ones. Which is what happens when we go to Gatlinburg indoor water park, but they have a splash area with more slides than just two straight ones. We are at a Marriott and he can do the real slide since he can swim, so you just have to pass a swim test if you are under 48"
  7. What are he height restrictions on the Symphony boat? My son is 43" and loves water slides, but I wasn't sure what he could or could not do.
  8. I would totally buy the 10 if the 100 wasn't only 40 dollars more. I mean when paying $100 why not pay $140 for 90 more pictures.
  9. I would do the prints and I see 100 pictures is really the only option as 10 and 20 are only slightly cheaper. Are all the prints 8x10 or do they sometimes do smaller prints?
  10. I would say it is an hour out, hour back, and hour for swamp buggy tour. Which leaves you two hours for park. That probably gets you 1 show and walking around to see all the animals. That wouldn't be too bad. it isn't a large park. I don't think two hours would be enough for all the shows. There is wrestling alligators, alligators jumping for chickens, and then an animal show where they bring out various animals and have volunteers and stuff.
  11. I believe the beach beds offer some shade in addition to comfort. Did they have a lot of chairs with the shade coverings? Shade is my main thing.
  12. How long is the tour? Gatorland is a good hour away from PC.
  13. Is this new? I went in 2016 and had an entire case of water in my checked back and I had no issues getting my bag.
  14. I mean how many are doing official tests these days. Everyone I know has done at home because all the county sites are shut down due to the federal funding not being passed. So everyone is using all the tests they ordered from the government. We had 3 cases in our home recently and none of them are reported.
  15. Walgreens and CVS both have PCR tests at no charge. We have only done rapid at those places, but we did PCR at a county site as they would do a rapid and PCR at the same time, so we did that when my daughter was positive as we needed to know who could go to school and my husband get time off to care for who couldn't go to school.
  16. It was $199 and there is no other ship at port our day. We are on Symphony, so a larger ship.
  17. Every PCR test we have ever done or scheduled for my son for the cruise was all free.
  18. When we were scheduling our tests for our December cruise which my son was too young to be vaccinated, I was doing it all for free. Including the port and onboard test for my son. So cost really wasn't a factor for us. We have had to have tests for other reasons. Like my husband had to have a positive official test for my daughter for his caretaker benefits to kick in and not have to work so he could take care of the kids. We had to eventually have negatives for my kids to return to activities, etc. Now the protocols have changed, so we technically didn't need to test, but recently when my son had symptoms but we did an at home since we need to stay away from certain high risk relatives if we are positive. But in all the tests we have needed for various things they have all been free. We use the at home government ones now that we don't need formal stuff. If you are not vaccinated you need a PCR test 3 days before, you get one at the port (rapid), and if you are longer than 5 days one before you debark the ship.
  19. I thought JR was open for breakfast? Is it not because of Covid stuff?
  20. It is available for our sailing in November. This is why I buy stuff right away that I want as I can cancel later and re-book if cheaper. All our excursions were way cheaper when I booked months ago instead of now.
  21. I am paying a lot for this cruise, they better not eat pizza and hot dogs all week lol But we have been telling them all the cool things on cruises. I told my son he can order shrimp cocktail every night and his eyes lit up. And so I think hyping up the adult food will get them to avoid the junk. Plus I assume we will do enough buffet lunches they will get the junk out of their system for those meals. If I remember the buffet lunches is all burgers and other stuff like that.
  22. So typically kids menus, so we won't be ordering a ton from that. I could see them doing one kids menu item, but doing a lot of the adults stuff.
  23. Kobe is where we go since our other local one stopped doing tables. But there are others in the tourist area that people like. Epcot one is fantastic I have heard too, but we always end up at other Epcot places and haven't had passes since Covid. We are lucky that Kobe is close to us. What was on the kids menu? Just curious as I have never cruised with a kid and I was 13 the first time I went and therefore never had the kids menu myself.
  24. So when I do the 3 meal package it charges at the kid price and states they have to order off the kids menu. It is really why I was not doing any specialty this cruise. I feel my kids will do much better in the main dining where they can order from kids or adult menu. None of my kids are full on kids menu kids. Don't get me wrong they like Mac & Cheese and pizza, but they really prefer steak, seafood, etc. My most kid's meal kid loves soups and so she is excited to try all the various soups. She loves Clam chowder. My son loves shrimp, so shrimp cocktail is going to be his thing I see him ordering a lot. My oldest loves salads, steak, and seafood. So she will love the salad at every meal for sure. I just don't see them ordering a ton from kid friendly food in the main dining room. Only specialty one I have considered is Japanese because two of my kids absolutely love Sushi and the 3rd loves Hibachi style steak. But I really wasn't sure if it was worth it since we have such great Hibachi places here in Orlando.
  25. Is the beach bed worth it? I was looking at it for my family. We have 3 kids and it says max 4 so hoping they won't be too picky having an extra kid since the one is only 4.
