  1. Just curious, was this just our bad luck, or is this what other's are seeing -- the CK is missing on a few cylinders currently. At least in our experience on Harmony last week (28 Nov - 5 Dec). First night was a zoo. No room for seating in the lounge before dinner and I couldn't get a drink after standing at the bar for 15 minutes and gave up. Having kids with me I'm sure did not help and we felt very unwelcome that evening. And literally at every meal (we ate at CK 5 times: 3 x breakfasts, 1 x lunch and 1 x dinner) the kitchen riffed on my requests, delivering something not asked for nor appreciated. A side of broccoli = became mixed veggies with no broccoli?, mashed potatoes as stated on the menu = became fries?!, a "simple salad with just greens and ranch" for a 5 year old = became topped with crumbled blue cheese?, a bowl of granola = became some kind of parfait with just some granola on top!? Yes, I kindly talked to both the server and on the 2nd time with management and our Genie with no improvement. We requested and tried a different server with same results. Miscommunication, or more likely the kitchen just ignored special requests and the server simply delivered what they put out. When I asked for the salad to be taken back the server just left - and so did we. Are they afraid of the kitchen staff? The servers need to be empowered to turn back incorrect orders on the guest's behalf and they should never reach the guest. All the specialty restaurants really knocked it out of the park (we tried them all), but the CK had issues in our experience last week. Was this just our bad luck?
  2. Thought I'd follow up after coming off of our Cruise on Harmony of the Seas, 28 Nov - 5 Dec. My concerns from the original post, for the most part, were unfounded. My kids enjoyed their time in AO and on a few occasions would point out other kids on the boat and say, "that's my friend from Adventure Ocean", meaning they did get a chance to socialize. When walking to pick them up I always observed the staff doing their best to keep the kids entertained while socially distancing (mostly). Lots of running around and having to land on designated spots games, LOTS of art, coloring, painting, and they'd set toys out in a dispersed pattern and kids could chose to fall in on one and play in that area solo. I can't say they asked to go back or thought it was funner than hanging out with dad in the pool or riding the carousel for the 1,000th time but they didn't complain when dropped off when Dad needed a break. Not ideal, but three thumbs-up from two five year olds and a Dad up for the COVID-protocol'd AO.
  3. I know, so many germs!! I once saw a toddler sucking on its fingers and then it touched a door knob. So incredibly gross. Then the time the guy left the bathroom without washing his hands, heading back to the buffet - are you kidding me?! I've even caught several colds from being out there - it was terrible. I now wear rubber gloves and a respirator everywhere I go then bath in Neosporin every evening when I get back to my house. Its the only way to be safe out there. Those germs will get ya if you aren't careful. Seriously, we are by design (immune-compromised excluded), able to wade through this filth. Wash your hands frequently, exercise, eat right, and live. You can't change the world or anyone else's behavior, so if close quarters with 1,000's isn't your thing, find another place to spend your time. But I will say, the less you expose yourself to germs the less capable your immune system becomes. Think of it this way, your friend in the elevator was doing you a favor by triggering an immune response, making you stronger and more capable of fighting off the next onslaught. Cheers!!
  4. Regarding the Chef's Table: Do you know if unvaccinated children are/were allowed to participate?
  5. Following. Also interested in how hard they enforce the max 4 rule. We are a family of 5: 2 adults and 3 kids.
  6. Haha. I can only imagine what runs through their heads when the elevator door opens and they meet my half-vaxxed, masked, wide-eyed 5 year olds. "Oh, yuck...unvaccinated kids. Why do people choose to bring these things on MY cruise and put ME at risk of catching COVID and getting sick and possibly dying. There is no way I'm getting on an elevator with you". What's going thru my kids' minds: "What a strange reaction - why were they so disgusted when they saw us"? Me: "Don't pay them any mind - they are out of theirs". We won't let you get in the way of our having fun - have a nice day.
  7. I booked with Mco Luxury Transportation for our 11/28 cruise. They are supposed to meet us in the terminal at the airport (MCO) and at the port. It was about $250 r/t for an SUV. I have zero experience with them and hope it works out well.
  8. I'm sorry, but maybe you didn't read the original post possibly? It appears like the "fun" factor in that setting today, given COVID potocols, is a firm negative. Speaking for my kids only, they will absolutely want to run around and engage with other children. If a strict 6 foot distancing protocol is place, to include their own sibling, I'm going to believe they will be "miserable".
  9. This is horrible. I'm traveling solo with twins (aged 5). I was absolutely depending on the Aquanauts programs for some badly needed down time for myself. However I won't put them somewhere they will be miserable - this is OUR vacation. I know RC did away with the "Sitters at Sea" program but does anyone know if in-stateroom sitting can be arranged while at sea?
