  1. Rest of this year: Radiance of The Seas ~ Alaska Pre Tour and Cruise (RC) Celebrity Reflection ~ Trans Atlantic Allure of The Seas ~ (Surprise, just booked) Star Class Eastern Caribbean Celebrity Edge ~ Holidays Making up for losing the last 2 years
  2. We are going to be taking a cruise this year (hopefully) to Alaska and Canada, question that I have since you are close to land for this trip is it worth getting the internet package or will our phones most likely work as normal? Any help is greatly apricated Thanks in advance
  3. Just got off the Reflection and cruising again on The Reflection in November after the revolution, then to the Edge over the holidays (2022), after that we have in 2023, the Celebrity Beyond, then off to down under for a trip hopefully of a lifetime! We love cruising!
  4. Hi, I found out by looking it seems like through most all of Illinois Walgreen's has now changed from a week out to testing to 3 days max with far fewer appointments available. Not sure if this is permanent for because of supply and demand or something else going on with tests. We do have the Emed and that has costs that if possible we rather not pay. We don't live close to docks or a major airport so wherever we can save this is what we try and do so we can keep on cruising!
  5. Thank you for the advice, hopefully this will work out somehow, the old card is gone and will wait and see if I get a call and or an email if the upgrade happens. Time to move everything online and stop using the card as a card.
  6. Bad news, and sad news.... First I had a charge on my CC that I thought might have been the Royal up (it was not), in fact the CC was compromised. I had charges in three different places, Japan, Australia, and Mexico. When I found out I remembered that this was the card I used for Royal up and it looks like I cannot change the card so if I win I lose. I have called RC three different times and I am still getting the same answer "we can't do anything", I even spoke to the dreaded IT department, or at least that is what they said. Now I am just hoping that we go, any room is better than no room
  7. Has this happened to anyone at anytime, I placed a bid and I cannot modify and or cancel the bid and I am still about 20 days out from cruising? I was going to change the bid (up the amount), and now I can't so I am hoping this might be good news! Also will your money get refunded if RC cancels the cruise back to the CC or is it FFC? Thanks!
  8. From Cruise Deck Plans = however things may have changed Type: Spacious Balcony - Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that lead to your private veranda - two twin beds that convert to a queen-sized bed (72.5 by 82 inches) - considerable closet space - private bathroom with shower - living area with desk, drawer space - vanity - sofa - flat-screen television - thermostat controlled air-conditioning - internet access - direct-dial telephone, radio, mini bar, individual safe - 24 hour room service. Some balconies up to 80 square feet. Handicap cabin size is 272 square feet plus 80 square foot balcony. Category 1C (was D1) and 2C (was D2) has larger balconies. Some cabins are laid out with the bed near the balcony, others have the sofa near the balcony. Triple and Quad cabins have the sofa near the balcony. Layout changes every other cabin. Handicap cabins may have small chair bed instead of sofa bed. If there is more than two booked in cabin the chair bed is not recommended for adults.
  9. Hi, I know this is way off and things with cruises are changing seems like daily - does anyone know how you handle a cruise (Alaskan) if you are doing the pre tour and the covid test before you embark on the actual cruise? We have booked a cruise and my TA has no clue what the policy was earlier this year about the test so we are running basically blind. Thanks in advance with the full understanding what is today with cruising will NOT be the same tomorrow!
  10. When cruising first started back up again the "water in a can" was gross - without a doubt it had a metal tinge and tasted well really poor. I am sure this is because of the pandemic, the water sat around for a very long time and just sat in a warehouse. Jump up a few months later and the water tastes fine in the can (once you get over the "can" part), because now stock is being rotated and used with fresh supplies coming in all the time.
  11. Royal Caribbean International has extended its face mask policy through the end of January for guests sailing on the brand's ships. In an email sent to booked guests, the Miami-based cruise line cited the Omicron variant and said "it prudent to temporarily tighten our onboard health protocols to require masks indoors at all times, unless actively eating or drinking. This new update also applies to vaccinated areas and venues. Lastly, in alignment with the updated mask policy, smoking will also not be permitted in the casino for all cruises departing on or before January 31, 2022." The new protocols were put in place in December as worries about the Omicron Variant grew.
  12. The Walgreens that we use (about 30 miles from us), let all customers know that they will have no tests for the rest of the year and well into January that are monitored. They get in self tests weekly and that really is not helpful for travel and the home tests are now very limited. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/supply-chain/us-faces-pressure-to-keep-up-with-heightened-covid-19-test-demand.html?origin=BHRE&utm_source=BHRE&utm_medium=email&utm_content=newsletter&oly_enc_id=3025D9657890H1H Or: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/21/walgreens-limits-at-home-covid-tests-to-four-per-customer-due-to-demand-surge-amid-omicron-fears.html I also read on another discussion that eMed is having delays, it is getting harder to find/get tested with paying a lot of money and even some of them are running low on supplies. Not sure how this is going to mess up travels or even cruising down the road.
  13. One thing we LOVE about Celebrity is the casino is non smoking all the time. We don't smoke and hate smelling like an ashtray.
  14. Thank you! Great to know we just placed a bid for an upcoming cruise to a Aqua room (I don't want to "throw away" money) if the shows do not happen. With the full understanding, in todays environment who know what will happen day to day!
  15. Any one know if they are doing the Aqua Shows on Allure of The Seas? Looks like they are not doing any real shows except for the adult comedy show. Thanks!
  16. I am going to go out on a limb, I know I need Star... I work really hard for my vacation and we save what we can (so we can cruise). Not living near a port much less a major airport adds a ton of $$$$ to every cruise we take. We have been cruising since before our twins came along and now they are almost 19. Once they are done with college we are moving to FL (hopefully cruising is still an option) then we can really start enjoying more so, with out all the extra stuff.
  17. One thing we have done is when trying to get into a Star Class, we look at the price of what we paid for the drink package, internet and any specialty dinning that we had planned then that makes the bidding a bit easier on some of the longer cruises the totals can really add up. On the flip side since were are willing (sort of willing) to part with the funds for the upgrade and if we do not get the Star Suite, we take that money and we started a "RC Cruise Fund". I really don't want the Star Class to be a YOLO. If we get it this time yippee and if not then we are getting very close to purchasing a Star Class outright and technically it is not costing us much money that we don't really have. I did not think this would work, it is amazing though we are getting so close...
  18. I am just hoping that we are able to cruise, because if not then we are again land locked (boring). I just hope we all "pass" the pre coivd test, and this is one you can't study for, bummer. Like others have said, you can spend your "vacation" dollars anyway you want to, for us it is cruising and the total of canceled (9 cruises now) hopefully is not going to happen again anytime soon.
  19. Great questions, and yes I did - failed on both counts. I just made a new email/login and so far so good however I don't want to "mess things" up this close to our upcoming cruises. Baby steps, getting tested next week and then NO MORE land locked in 2021 and early 2022!!
  20. I figured this out I think, we have both a RC account and a Celebrity (not the same passwords), in simple terms when I log into one account I have issues with the other account. Yes I have cruises on both lines (not at the same time), however very close to each other. I will make a call to one of the two IT groups and let them scratch and or bang heads for a while. This happened recently and someone most likely on the back end did something. I was adding things to our Celebrity cruise and then I could not get back into RC... Changed my password on RC again and now my Celebrity is not letting me login. One for the books I guess?
  21. I personally vote for a smaller ship, it can get places where the larger ships cannot get into/dock. We are on the Radiance of the Seas doing a pre tour and then sailing. We have been trying this for the last 3 years, and hopefully 2023/third time is a charm. It also helps if you check the way you are sailing so if you have a view you can see more out the window and or balcony or just being on deck. Also larger ships have more to do, and we are going to Alaska for the scenery not for all the bells and whistles
  22. Have any of you recently had issues with the password you set working and then not so you have to change it again and again? I planned some fun things to do on an upcoming trip yesterday and today my password did not work so I reset it again, this happened twice in the last 3 days. I have used different browsers with no luck. It is easy enough to change the password the issue comes down to different devices and also changing it my master password file. I was on hold with RC for about an hour waiting until I gave up. Thanks for any input.
  23. You will pay the difference with the Deluxe Beverage Package and the limit is $13, at least it was on the last cruise I went on (Pre Pandemic). I just checked and that should still be correct as of today.
  24. @FlowriderWe having been asking and sending emails to RC and then we found out by email yesterday from the FB manager. Also like @Mattthe numbers are going up and have been for a while. Tired of being landlocked, and so ready to ship away in under two weeks!!
