Hey there. I am interested and will probably get the Premium drink package on our cruise coming up in 18 days. Question: If I order something that is more than $12.00, will they charge me for the whole drink on top of my package or will RCI give me a credit of $12.00 toward that drink?

Thanks very much for the input. I just want make sure I am getting the best deal here. The Grand Suite looks nice, but I want to make sure the actual room I signed up for is the best in it's class.

My wife and I are cruising in November on the Jewel. I am a drinker and don't want to be limited to what I can get so I am working toward the ultimate package. My wife doesn't drink much at all but does like her sodas from time to time. I'm leaning toward the soda package for her. With my ultimate package, would I be able to go up to the bartender and order two shots of something just in case she wants to try what I am having? What is RCI's take on ultimate package getting whatever they want including multiple shots?

Has anyone ever heard of Royal upgrading a Grand Suite to an Owners or Royal Suite for free? Are there better Grand Suites on the Jewel I should be aware of and ask to be upgraded to as I am approaching the 75 day mark? I've heard that more cabins become available after the 75th day before embarkation because people change their minds.

WOW! Am I the first to post for the Nov 8th cruise out of San Juan on the Jewel?

We live in Dallas so this will be a couple of hours later than we are used to. How did you get from the airport to the pier? I've heard it is a 45 minute drive. Did you get a taxi or maybe a limo?

My wife and I splurged and are finally going on the honeymoon cruise we have waiting over a year to execute. We were married last summer and are cruising with RCL on the Jewel for the Nov 8th, 7 night cruise out of San Juan. The Grand Suite should be a nice addition since neither of us have stayed in a cabin larger than a ocean view in the past. The ship leaves port at 8:30 at night and we are flying into San Juan arriving around 1:30pm. My concern is that we won't be able to enjoy a nice dinner or much at all after the ship leaves port since we are leaving so late in the evening. Should we get on the ship early say around 3 so we can arrange a nice dinner at one of the specialty restaurants? What about the early dinner time we selected of 6:30 each night? Should that be changed to Any Time dining?
