  1. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes it just all confuses me. However, we went in this morning and they are running their sale. The water is 40% off right now. So it's $22.99 for the 12 pack of 1 litre bottles of Evian . We just did 2 of the 12 packs cause it comes out a few dollars cheaper. It all works out good for me in the end. I love my water.
  2. Thanks. That was a great question. I also have a severe shellfish allergy, but I can't be any where I can smell it, especially Lobster and Shrimp. As you can guess, that limits us from many many places. I'm always looking also for non-seafood places. There haven't been alot, but I'll find some someplace.
  3. We always get the water package,a case or two. We only buy it when it drops down to 40% off. We were just checking the prices for our Sept Bermuda Cruise when I noticed that it's not the "old water package". Now the only one I see is the Evian water which is alot more expensive. We don't need to buy the fancy water, we just like having some bottles in the room. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? And yes we also bring our own reuseable water bottles, but we drink so much water and want a supple. Thanks.
  4. We are in on this one too! We also have not been to Bermuda........YET. We've been looking foward to this one for many months, I'm sure it'll be awesome.
  5. Hello all. Scott (hubby) was just on trying to do our dining reservations and was greeted by yet another mystery. We found in parts of our reservation that it now says our ship is going to Yucatan Progeso Mexico. So he checked all thru the reservation and part says Gran Turks and part says Progeso. It'll be fun to see just where we'll end up. Luckily we're not uptight people and are just happy to climb aboard and see where she takes us. As long as we float out of Cape Canaveral we'll be happy.
  6. Hubby just got on 2 days ago. We got the Mediterranean themed one. Looking at the entire menu the only thing we ranked above a 1 was the apple blossom. With none of the "classics" we would have some fear of going down there each night. To go to a theme night is a nice idea, but we feel you still have to have some classics to fall back on every night. If we went down there for dinner one night and it was "surprise! it's seafood night" and that's all they have I'd have to turn around and run the other way. I have a bad allergy to shellfish and I already have to skip the MDR now as it is when they are having lobster tails plus some other shellfish. We love the MDR and we love the fact they do change the selections each night. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  7. If we'll be having 2 formal nights I'll go a dress(nothing over the top), and hubby goes dress slacks and a button down shirt with tie. For the second formal night we usually have to skip the dining room since it's usually lobster and seafood night and I'm allergic to shellfish. That second night we tend to see alot more of the people with food allergies in the Wind Jammer. We do enjoy watching the families all dressed up for pictures, the kids are always so cute. Our thing is Tropical Shirt night. We look forward to that one and we rock some bright shirts.
  8. Hubby always books our My Time Dining ahead of the cruise, it's great. Once we get onboard the ship and have our lunch we go down to the main dining room to make sure they have my food allergies on file(they are great about that for me) and we double check they have our time for My Time Dining, it's become part of our routine and it works out great for us.
  9. The sink/shower works for us. If you are lucky enough to have a balcony room all you need is a package of wooden clothes pins and some light rope, the chairs on the balcony are great for drying things fast, especially if it's windy, I double pin the bathing suits.
  10. I can't speak for Izumi, but, I can speak for the main dining room. If you will be eating in there just go there as soon as you get on board and let them know about any food allergies. If it's a severe allergy make sure you stress that to them. On one recent cruise we did this and when we went down for dinner they seated us at the next table next to people who had ordered seafood. I am severely allergic to shellfish, the smell of it and to tree nuts. We called our head waiter over and let him know and he immediately moved us to a new table in a section less crowed. He told us to check in at the desk when we arrive the next night but he would do the seating. Each night after the first we checked in and then here he would come to bring us to our table. He also made sure that he was the one who brought my food out to me every night so he would be sure that I got would I ordered and it was right. They also give you the next nights menu for you to look at and place your order so you don't (for me at least) show up and find out it's seafood night and you have to go eat somewhere else. This was the main dining room as busy as they get, I imagine the specialty restaurants would be the same way. I feel very comfortable with their attention to detail.
  11. We go for our Covid tests at CVS tomorrow morning, then first thing Sunday morning start the drive down for our Monday Indy Cruise. May it all go as planned with the cruise Gods watching over all cruisers.
  12. Hubby and I were on the group cruise with Matt on Harmony in Nov. It was canned mineral water. I can't drink water from a can cause I only taste the can, and to top it off I do not really like mineral water. It was alot of filling our Coke cups up with water at Cafe Promenade. About half way thru we happened to stop in Central Park at the bar and surprise, they had plastic water bottles. That made our day. We went back a few more times to have some more bottles to refill. We leave on the Independence on Jan 10th and I hope it's not mineral water again. This time I'm bringing my refillable water bottle.....
  13. Hubby and I always bring a Thank You gift bag for our room steward. We put in it some Tide Pods and a box of fabric softener sheets, a magnet from our state and a few little other odds and ends and Always put in a Big Bag of Chocolate Bars, the bite size ones with Snickers in it. We tell them use what you want and do with the rest whatever you want. They usually tell us they will share it, but the biggest smiles come from the bag of Candy. We were on Mariner in Sept and our room steward told us how much she appreciated the laundry items because they were unable to get off the ship. We give them their gift bag on day 1 and on the last day we give them their tip with a nice Thank You note. Everybody is different, we enjoy doing this and come up with new ideas each time.
