  1. My wife and I took a cruise to Bermuda in 2019. We loved it. Our favorite island. It's beautiful and the people are very nice. Prior to the cruise we had arranged to go on a local helmet dive, not through RC. My wife loved it, and has pictures of her with the fish that hang out there. I don't swim, and am claustrophobic, but I gave it a shot. Didn't happen. That said, we would both do it again in a heartbeat! Through this excursion we had gotten the name of a taxi driver, and arranged for a private tour of the island. Cost $200, plus tip. Again, we loved it. The only excursion we did through RC was a sunset cruise by Gosling's Rum. Also, fun, and the Dark and Stormy was our drink the rest of the cruise.
  2. I'm sorry to hear the problems y'all are having. I just looked on Lofta, where I purchased mine. I was shocked they've gone up so much! Glad I got mine when I did.
  3. About 3 years ago I bought an AirMini CPAP. Insurance won't pay for it, as it's considered a luxury. It was about $650. However, it's less than half the size of my AirSense 10. It also doesn't use water. It has a replaceable ring that you insert into the tube, and it somehow pulls in moisture from the air. Whenever I travel now, whether a car trip or a cruise, it's what I take. You may still need to ask for an extension cord, depending on where the outlets are. Our last cruise on Symphony, there was an outlet next to the bed.
  4. Sorry, Matt, just saw this. It is a Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra. My wife has an identical (well, except she got the burgundy), and she didn't have as many issues. Must have been operator error! It did give me a good excuse to stay at the bar(s).
  5. We're doing an Alaskan cruise in late August, northbound from Vancouver. When we reach Seward we plan on taking the train to Anchorage. The train leaves Seward around 6 pm, arrives Anchorage around 10 pm. What do we do with our luggage before boarding the train, and what is there to occupy us in Seward. When we arrive in Anchorage, I figure we'll head straight to our hotel. We fly out the next night around 9pm. Same question, what do we do with our luggage after we check out from the hotel, and what are recommendations to spend a half day in Anchorage. I realize we probably won't do either town justice, but we still work, and can't take the extra vacation time.
  6. Over all, we had no significant issues with wifi.
  7. Be sure you make reservations for the shows ASAP. Stand in line when you first board if you must. Also, be sure to be at the shows the 15 or 20 minutes ahead to be sure to get your reservations. At 10 minutes before the show, they release any unclaimed reservations to standbys. Also, make reservations for your dining locations ASAP. These will fill up quickly.
  8. Currently on Symphony, closing out another wonderful Royal cruise. First time on a ship this size. We were worried the size would overwhelm us. We have been pleasantly surprised. As usual, the crew are superb!! We have only 2 complaints. First, the Royal app has been very hit or miss. It freezes frequently, which is a bummer when you've come to rely on it from previous cruises. The other issue had been the MDR. On our boarding pass, we were scheduled for 8:00 seating, which is what we wanted. When we received our Sea Pass Cards, it showed My Time Dining. We were unable to get it changed. The food has been good as usual (with a couple of exceptions). The staff was great. However, we like getting to know the staff, and when they change every night it isn't as fun.
  9. Trying to sort out the travel insurance question. If we are sailing on Saturday, and on Thursday we test positive with the RC at home test, what are the options? If we don't have travel insurance, do we lose our money? If we do have travel insurance, does it cover cancelation due to Covid?

  11. Thanks, we may give it a try next cruise; I believe I've read that it tends to be more sedate than the Schooner bar, which is where we usually hang .
  12. Really stupid question. We've never bothered with visiting the Vintages bar, as we thought it only served wine. Is that the case, or can you get cocktails, also?
  13. Is there anything within (short) walking distance at the Symphony terminal in Miami to hang out if we arrive early for our check in time?
  14. Looks like we'll be flying in late Friday night to Fort Lauderdale. Any recommendations for hotels by that airport, or knowledge of transportation from there to Miami port Saturday?
  15. Yes, we usually come in the night before. We're coming from about 2 hours from Dallas, and the cruise leaves on a Saturday. We both still work, and the latest flight on on SWA (which we have credits on) leaves around 6:30 pm Friday night. We haven't decided if we want to take an additional half day on Friday. There is a nonstop Saturday flight that gets in around 11:30 am.
  16. We are cruising on Symphony from Miami in April. We will be flying in to Miami airport on Southwest Airlines. What is the best way to get to the port? Are there shuttles? Also, any recommendations for a nearby hotel. We aren't sure if we're flying in the night before, or the day of departure. Thanks
  17. Do you need waterproof boots/shoes? I realize it depends on the excursion. We'll probably do some where we are on a boat, and maybe some moderate photo excursions.
  18. Thanks for the reviews and photos. Gorgeous! Can't wait to go next fall!
  19. Has anyone had trouble just getting the a2s website to work properly? I'm trying to check flights on our 2022 April cruise out of San Juan. I put in my reservation number, last name, and date of departure; however, when I click on the box to pick my ship, it doesn't allow me to even see ship names, much less pick one. I'm well within the 330 day window to look at flights. This has been happening for over a week.
  20. Tangential to this question about Voom, I wanted to describe what happened when we went to purchase Voom for 2 devices. The price for 1 device was 10.99, so that would be about $77 dollars for a 7 day cruise. The price for 2 devices is $19.49,so that should be $137 for the cruise. However, when I added the 2 devices package to my cart, it shows $273. In other words, they charged me the 19.49 for 7 days for 2 people. We came out ahead by buying 2 single Voom device, roughly $154. Don't know if this is a glitch, or intentional.
  21. We have Guest Services punch a hole in the SeaPass and clip it in a lanyard. My lanyard ha a detachable part so I don't have to keep pulling my lanyard over my head when I use it.
