  1. My hubby has a 360 camera and GoPro too. I just showed him your professionally taken pictures and he’s all excited about doing the same at our cruise next week (Quantum of the Seas). Let’s see how it goes
  2. The Singapore government has announced that dining out restrictions (2 pax per table) will continue to apply till 21 November! This means our party of 3 will have to split and one person would have to dine alone. This sounds rather sad, and I’m wondering if I should arrange for more meals in the suite (where all 3 of us can sit together and eat). I have heard reviews that the food may get cold by the time they are delivered to the suite, and I was wondering how it works with getting Wonderland or Jamie’s meat plank delivered to the suite. I’d like to hear your experience with ordering food to be served in the suite, including whether it is better to eat at the balcony or the dining table in the suite.
  3. After following a few blogs, and benefiting from the tips and advice provided, I’m now inspired to share my first time experience cruising in a Grand Loft Suite on QoTS in early Nov. QoTS will not be making any stops at nearby ports and it’s a cruise to nowhere i.e. everyday is sea day. We are staying in Suite 10324, instead of a corner loft, thanks to advice from @WAAAYTOOO. We’ve done 4 cruises (last 3 ones on Royal Caribbean), always in a balcony or junior suite. Cruisers include my hubby (we’re celebrating his birthday!) and my son. Poor daughter was initially included but we had to remove her last week as she realised that she has some school activity that she cannot skip. We did the questionnaire in end Sep and our genie, Eli, got in touch with us on 3 Oct asking about our plans. I’ve asked if we could get a picture taken at the helipad (hubby’s birthday wish), still waiting for Eli to get back to us on that. Quite excited as there is a couple of first times for us - rock climbing for my son, celebrating a birthday on a cruise, iFly and NorthStar for all of us, taking a pic at helipad for all of us, having the deluxe drinks package (we’re not big on alcoholic drinks so never took this package in the past) and perhaps FlowRider for me (yes I’ve never tried FlowRider!). 17 sleeps to embarkation day!
  4. La Patisserie is not part of UDP for Oasis class ships
  5. I took the UDP on Quantum of the Seas in Feb 2021 and was so glad I did. It was a cruise to nowhere (test cruise from Singapore) so we could go to the specialty restaurants for lunch & dinner. Breakfast is not included but we found a lot of options at MDR or Solarium Bistro. My fave was Wonderland (for the experience) & Chops (filet mignon of course), my teenage girl loved Izumi & my boy preferred Jamie’s & Chops. There’s something for everyone and desserts everyday!
  6. @Leikelaone of my friend sailed last week and he had initially purchased a dining package online but he received an email from RC a couple of days prior to sail-off informing him that the package was cancelled and the payment refunded to him. The strange thing is that the specialty restaurants are open (except Wonderland & Chef’s Table) throughout his cruise and he had to pay the a la carte pricing to dine at Chops. Sad to hear that seafood tower is not offered anymore; my husband was looking forward too that. I guess we will have to make do with the lobsters at Coastal Kitchen. My friend also reported some confusion at the cruise centre over COVID rapid tests prior to embarkation as it was not mentioned in the emails; his family took 3 hours to embark as a result. So do check in with the Genie on this to avoid unnecessary delays.
  7. @Leikelaso sad to hear that Chef's table, bridge tour, and bingo are not available. Does that mean Wonderland will be open (I heard earlier that Wonderland was closed during P2HA)?
  8. Hi @Leikela, I’ve booked a GLS in November on QoTS and it will be my first time on Star Class as well! So excited for us both and would appreciate it if you could share on your Star experience. We’re celebrating a birthday onboard and was thinking of getting the Genie to decorate the suite and send a cake.
  9. Super excited for you @DominicGCAU! Thanks to the advice from @WAAAYTOOO and some others in the Blog, I’ve booked a GLS on Deck 10 in the middle as well, cruising in early November on Quantum of the Seas (Singapore). Will share my experience after my cruise (or maybe a live update if I’m up to it). I had initially booked a corner GLS on Deck 10 cos of the 3 balconies and of course the cute hanging chair on the balconies. After realising the difference in footage and configuration between corner and middle GLS, I called the hotline and changed out to the middle GLS. Just sharing the experience of a friend who was on Star Class on Quantum of the Seas in May 2021 - he ordered 10 glasses of champagne into his GLS (there were only 2 of them in the suite) each night and the Genie obliged! My family is not much of a drinker but since it’s included in the cruise fare, we may order a bubbly or two just for the fun of it ?
