Royal laid off most of the US-based casino call center staff years ago.  There were/are only a few remaining to begin with.  As @twangsternoted, the remaining ones were in the Eugene, OR center.  I have no confirmation either way....but it would not surprise me if they closed that one, remaining center.  Truly, it would not affect that many folks as they were mostly released well before the plandemic.  For quite a while, the overseas casino call staff were undertrained and provided marginal support but I have to admit that lately, they have been extremely helpful and informed.  Yesterday I called to make final payment on a December cruise and confirmed (for the 3rd time !!) that we would only have to do a self-administered home test for both segments of our B2B and that agent first told me that the tests had to be proctored....so I had a bit of difficulty with that particular call but very quickly she confirmed that a self-administered, non-proctored test would be accepted for both segments...with the caveat that the testing requirements can change at any time....which I completely understand.

Woo Hoo! I am back and excited about this. After 3 cancelled cruises in the last two years, I am definitely overdue. 

Personally I feel all communication that gets emailed to the TA should also be sent to the customer.  
I don't rely on my husband to read my mail and relay messages to me from mail, telephone or otherwise.  I like to see things firsthand.  No one should be my filter since I might find something more important than they do, or interpret it differently, see the deadline etc.  Sorry that happened to you.

This! And I would add make sure if you are booking direct with Royal that you wait for the invoice to some through while still on the phone with them! 

Always check your invoice as soon as you book to make  sure everything is correct

I think that explains why there may not be a lot of people sailing on Spectrum!

Self testing is effectively equal to no testing.  Not much of a point to it.

So true!! The picture could be of anybody's test, including the family pet!! It's time to just rip off the Band-Aid and let's get it on!!!

I wonder how long that lasts. Seems a waste of time at the pier to look at pictures since there's zero way to verify.

I cannot wait to see smiling faces again. This has been one of the hardest parts of the masking policies, seeing unmasked customers and masked employees, it doesn't feel good at all.

As far as testing, for the US after Sept. 5 you can use a self administered home test that isn't proctored (except Bermuda and Canada).
 

Plus vaccinated don't need a test for cruises less than 10 nights.

And finally The Bahamas comes around.  Cruise rules will mirror inbound flight rules: unvaccinated can enter with a negative test, no testing for vaccinated.

Then again it wouldn't surprise me if it's like that already and that's just their way of making it look like due diligence before relaxing crew mask rules.

Celebrity Cruise has rolled out a pilot program on one of its ships to test the masks-free policy on selected crew. All nonguest facing crew will be mask free for a duration of two weeks, and if the results are promising this will lead to even more relaxed protocols across the fleet. In order to get more results the cruise line plans to add a second ship to the pilot program in the coming days.
I have no doubt that other cruise lines are investigating doing away with masks for crew as various mitigation measures disapper from the cruising landscape.. How they do it is another matter. RCL?

I need 12 but I sail in under 5 weeks. Gotta think it's not happening for me but I'll take the unsupervised self-test 3 days out happily in comparison to having to test at the airport before checking in for our flight. 👌

I'm hoping so too....after all, it only took a few weeks for them to go from 6 nights or less to 9 nights or less. Do I hear 10????

I genuinely believe this will change again by then. I hope so!
