I forgot to come back to this thread sooner, but wanted to report that I received my new passport two weeks after I applied paying for the expedited service and R/T Priority Mail. So, it seems worth the cost if you can't wait months. After years in the military and few years as a federal civil servant in my past life, the expedited passport service is the most incredibly efficient thing I've ever seen the government accomplish. ? My stress level about my upcoming cruises is way down!

I take either a blue blazer with khakis or a light gray sport coat with darker gray slacks for RC formal nights. I fold the dress clothes with each piece inside a thin dry cleaner plastic bag and put them in my suitcase. I never have wrinkle issues and I do travel light. I take only a carry on size suitcase that fits in the carry on bins on planes and a backpack. I always have plenty of clothes for 5-7 night cruises.

Sent my application July 12, and paid for expedited and round-trip Priority Mail. My check to the State Department cleared the bank a few days later. Mine would have been a renewal except I lost my current passport and had to report that when I applied. So, not sure how that will figure into the mix. The State Department website still shows "processing." Fingers crossed I get it in time for my December 1 cruise.
