I know this isn’t answering your question about Royal’s transport, but…

Back in October of this year we took National Express from Southampton to Heathrow Terminal 5.  For two of us with reserved seats it was £57,50.

The coach station was an easy walk (for us) from the ship.  There isn’t much for seating at the bus station, so that’s something to be aware of.

If we were going...and we have been on both ships more than once, we would go on Liberty. Hasn't been amped but still a nice ship, always had a great crew, food, service etc. and I would think given the short duration it would be easier.

Calling this an extortion is kind a bummer, as we europeans had to pay for several years your ESTA fees, and even more since the raise last year!
    So please, be fair.

I didn't want to know either; it was all my wife's idea, lol. It was a huge splurge for us as a one time special trip (our standard vacation is driving an hour to PC for a 7-night cruise in an interior).
That said, I've been thanking her for it ever since. It was absolutely amazing and I wouldn't go back without a land portion... although we wouldn't have to do everything again so I'm sure we could make it a bit less pricey... but it will be expensive no matter what.

So sad that it's been like that for quite a while.
Back in 2018, spending two nights in the very back of the park at the Denali Backcountry Lodge (along with the bus rides in and back out) was one of the highlights (amongst many) of our 10 days on land before we cruised Radiance southbound. You can still get back there via the air at least. It was a huge splurge for us but so was the entire trip and it was well worth it. And fwiw, this is coming from a very frugal cruiser who is back to booking interiors from PC (an hour's drive for us) to just sail around the Caribbean over and over.

In that case dayuse.com is really the best option. I even got the Hilton F&B Voucher after staying at an airport hotel last time for only 6h.

I think a lot of folks just don't get it...
You have already tipped.  Cruises are supposed to be "cash-free".  You don't have to carry your wallet around with you or deal with cash while onboard.  Service is great whether you push around dollar bills every time you get a drink or not.
I do NOT carry around a stack of dollars.  My bar waiters always serve me very well anyway.  I do bring larger bills with me for exceptional service...and, at the end of the cruise, if, for example, I've had my pre-dinner drinks in the Diamond Club and have received consistent exceptional service (which I typically have) from the same bar waiters/bartenders there every night, I will give them an envelope with a much larger gratuity--indicating my appreciation for the service, NOT as a "bribe" in an attempt to get future better service.  And I have had bar waiters remember me on cruises as much as 4-5 years later!!!
Folks, a cruise ship is not a "strip club"--where you come armed with singles to shove into the g-strings of the "employees".  🙂

We did this in Seward. We boarded at 11:30 after arriving by train, ate lunch in Chops, then left the ship to head to the the marine museum/aquarium via the free shuttle. Then took the free shuttle back to port, boarded at 3:30/4 ish. Muster was around 5 or so. We didn't shove off until around 6:30 or 7pm. That's doable in Seward, as everything in fairly close, especially with the free shuttle that loops the town, but I wouldn't try it in Miami. That's just me, though. Enjoy your cruise!!!!

For our upcoming cruise in three weeks, I booked a smaller SUV with AVIS - pickup and dropoff is at the dock area. Was around 280$/day, even cheaper and more comfy for a family than taking the blue, green or what so ever bus. And you can explore the whole area around Juneau on your own!

We cruised often when my now 21yo was a toddler/pre-schooler as we had a family member that worked for a cruise line. We found it easier to bring her car seat, use it on the plane and ground transportation to/from the cruise, then stash the seat in the bottom of the closet on the ship for the duration of the cruise ...than to figure out how to to get around safely w/o the seat.

That said, if some of the young people are a bit older (5+) you can take a look at the Bubble Bum belt positioning booster. It is affordable, super easy to travel with, and inflates into a low back booster whenever you need it (deflates quickly as well). Since it is a belt positioning booster it cannot be used on the plane, but it works great for ground transportation. [We used it during trips to NYC when my kids were younger. It allowed us to jump in and out of an Uber/Lyft as needed.]

Another child restraint option is a Ride Safer Travel Vest. This works for any child that forward faces and needs a five point harness (as opposed to the belt positioning booster discussed above). This also travels well, but is a bit more expensive.

In both cases, I would practice using them before any travel. Don't want to be sitting at your destination airport reading the instructions! 🙃

I spend 12+ years volunteering as a child passenger safety technician when my kids were younger so I was probably more aware of the limited options at the time. Lots of great things for traveling now that weren't available back then!
