  1. Looking for a three nighter to Nassau in november 2024, we have to decide between Liberty or Allure.

Having been on some of the older ships, Allure seems to be a nice option for this short cruise, however she departs from MIA. Liberty would depart from FLL.

Do you have recommendations for outside stateroom categories on Allure? Balcony would be lost money for this cruise, being most of the time onshore.

The price difference even with boardwalk, central park etc is not that big - even compared to Liberty, GTY for sure is cheaper.

Preferably we would not like to have people looking in our cabin inside from the other side, although any outside cabin would however be fine.

We did this in Seward. We boarded at 11:30 after arriving by train, ate lunch in Chops, then left the ship to head to the the marine museum/aquarium via the free shuttle. Then took the free shuttle back to port, boarded at 3:30/4 ish. Muster was around 5 or so. We didn't shove off until around 6:30 or 7pm. That's doable in Seward, as everything in fairly close, especially with the free shuttle that loops the town, but I wouldn't try it in Miami. That's just me, though. Enjoy your cruise!!!!

I hope this is still possible nowadays 😁

  3. For our upcoming cruise in three weeks, I booked a smaller SUV with AVIS - pickup and dropoff is at the dock area. Was around 280$/day, even cheaper and more comfy for a family than taking the blue, green or what so ever bus. And you can explore the whole area around Juneau on your own!

We are looking at the train from the port station to Roma.  Looks like there is an 8:42 and 8:57am.  Has anyone had experience with those times?  Earlier?  Do they work with disembarking and all?  Do you need to buy tickets in advance?  Anyone have better experience with the bus options?

Disembarking is really fast, Shuttles are taking you to the train station, they leave every 5 minutes from the Port. This could be the only tight problem, to catch a bus.

Then leave the bus at the train station and jump into the train heading to Rome. Should work out fine, we took the 9AM train without any major problems last summer.

  5. Interesting topic. We (all europeans) are going to fly via DFW (point of entry) to Anchorage, then Seward, heading south to Vancouver with Radiance OTS.

From Vancouver then via DEN to Austin, TX.

If I did you understand correctly, there should be no time hassle at Vancouver airport, as we already got our I-94 assigned in DFW.

And even no problems deploying in Vancouver (having e-TAs all of us)?

  6. Found this during surfing the web:

    www.rocklegendscruise.com

Sailing from Miami in february 2024 to the dominican republic and vice versa for a 4 nite cruise with the Legends of Rock. Seems to be the 11th of that type.

I am quite astonished about the prices they charge for the staterooms - a simple balcony runs for 2300$ after taxes.

Bev packages cannot be bought before OLCI, C&A points are collected, but no advantages for status.

Anyone ever been on one of these cruises? The line up is not that bad 😆

  7. Some thoughts:

A picc line is a central venous access into your blood stream. Also for bacteries, if it's not handled properly.

There is TPN on the (european) market which has not to be chilled. Maybe you can switch?

Is the TPN supplementary or is she completely dependend (would make me wonder with only 14 hours of run time a day)?

The medical services on the ship can for sure manage all of this. But I don't think it is included in the cruise packages' price...
