Confidence in Cruising and Redeploying?
C_Petrosso replied to C_Petrosso's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Both kids are 13 years old. One is my stepson and the other is his best friend. Having the connected rooms was a huge selling point for us. We weren't aware the ship was the newest and best in their fleet. Thank you for the insight and will allow us to see this more positively. -
Our family with son's friend booked a cruise on Independence of the Seas after reading Royal's book with confidence initiative offering 125% future cruise credit if our cruise were to be cancelled. Our cruise was cancelled but were moved to Odyssey of the Seas. The dates are the same but we're going to different ports of call. Additionally, our connected room configuration with children has been moved to two separate decks. Royal stated this is classified as a redeployment and therefore not an official cancellation meaning we're not candidates for the 125% future cruise credit. Moreover, we were told if we wanted our rooms to be closer we'd have to upgrade one of the rooms to a suite for $2,000 more as balcony and interior rooms were fully booked. We're unable to cruise with the current room arrangement and have been told if we want to cancel then we can do so for a standard refund as we would be the ones cancelling. We've been hoodwinked with the old bait and switch but can fix everything on a cruise we never would have signed up for on our own if we'd give just another 2k. We've asked our issue be forwarded to the customer service supervisor's supervisor. Any advice for the not so confident in cruising?
