  1. Going to do a B2B on Mariner in a month. Would like opinions on what to try/order or not at Jamies.
  2. The cruise docs usually show up 30 days prior to sailing. Since there are 31 days in October, start looking for them tomorrow Oct. 6
  3. Right now I've 7 up coming cruises on Royal.
  4. Yes, on the sides at Chops. Mostly all starch base. I do like hibachi for the entertainment. Yes, Gionvannis' Table is still on Allure (not KITCHEN), I think the steak is better then Chops. You forgot 150 Central Park that would be my choice: bread/roll(out of this world), Beef Tenderloin for 2-yes, & of course the Fried Cheese Cake, I also like the Pumpkin soup - presentation .
  5. My take on the new MDR menus. Just recently finish a TA from Amsterdam to Bayonne on JotS. 1st night Welcome Aboard – Prime Rib was good ; very little fat and no gristle 2nd night – A taste of France – didn’t eat in the MDR. Did GT got the Filet. 3rd night – Beyond the Sea – NE Clam Chowder just more like NE Clam Broth, not thick; Lamb shank fell off the bone, good; Berry Cobler wasn’t very warm. 4th night – A Taste of Asia – didn’t eat in the MDR. Did GT got the Filet. 5th night – A Taste of History – Bay Scallops was good; Spinach Pie too soupy; Horseradish Crusted Salmon -ok (different); Pecan pie – ok. 6th night – A Taste of Mexico – Burrito was good; Beef was ok , though thinly sliced it was still chewy; Apple cobbler was good. 7th night – A Taste of the Caribbean – didn’t eat in the MDR 8th night - Italian - don’t remember 9th night – British night - don’t remember 10th night - Mediterranean – don’t remember 11th night – Beyond the Sea – Vegan Rice Paper rolls, good; special order Grilled Chicken w/ Tomato Risotto Shrimp – good; fish platter ok 12th night – Taste of the Classics – Onion Tart – ok; French Onion soup – I’ve had better (too much bread, very little onion) Went to Chops for lunch – Burger was good, Salmon was ok, Shrimp Cocktail is always good. 13th night – International – didn’t eat in the MDR. Did GT got the Shrimp w/the Mushroom risotto 14th night – Beyond the Sea – (same theme night but different menu) Shrimp & Salmon os 15th night - Beyond the Sea – (same theme night but different menu) Royal Shrimp salad – ok; Chicken Schnitzel good , chicken was moist’ Cocoanut cake – fine. 16th night – Royal night – they did offer the Lobster tail, mine was small (4 bits, I saw others with a bit larger ones). 17th night – Bon Voyage - Don’t remember.
  6. Try and get different colored cups so you can tell who belongs to which cups or bring some kind of rubber band to put on the cup. As ScottD mentioned see about getting them at the table as they would have a lot o cups to choose from and maybe able to find different colors/styles.
  7. Yes, its a lot of food. I couldn't have a doggie bag to take the rest back to the cabin. I think it probably has to do that you made it not a employee of the restaurant. Food safety.
  8. I was lucky. the first time I played (it was also my bday. Was able to get the 'cover all' won a free cruise. though there were a lot of restrictions. Only could book a month out, interior cabin, & and of course being a month out and had to fly - air fare wasn't cheap. Haven't since. That was almost 20 year ago
  9. Never though of that. Do it for my coolers all the time.
  10. Yes on the meat ball. I think when I first went (right after the restart and Odyssey had just set sail) the meatball was softball size now I think its down to baseball size
  11. There are some extra perks once you reach 525 points. 'Cheers with the Officers' ;more beverage options; etc
  12. It seems to be busy on the 1st night, right at the beginning of Happy hour (food) then it does get manageable. Sometimes it hard to get waited on. On some of the smaller ships (Radiance) they do spread into the Viking Crown lounge and that helps.
  13. I miss the Bio page that each ship handed out. It included the Captain, Chief Engineer, Cruise Director, & Hotel Manager.
  14. I like 150 also. The Beef for 2 is fantastic (not sure if your voucher would work though) ; Lobster Thermador is great; as mentioned the bread is to die for. I like the Pumpkin soup, presentation is interesting, The dessert if the Fried cheesecake
  15. I uncounted a similar experience, in the elevator I got on they didn't change the sign, so I was hoping for another day.
  16. How many Bahama ports does the ship stop at? I wish they would charge if you only got off the ship. So in the case of Nassau if you didn't have your seapass scanned you wouldn't be charge, but if you got off and then forgot something and had to go back on and get off again you'd be charged again, so ????
  17. The reverse is also allowed. If you don't like anything on the adult menu you can order off the kid's menu.
