  1. If you can't find one by febuary I could buy one than mail it to you. Iv done it before, sometimes it's the only way to get one. That said they are around 45 USD on ship plus postage, 70 on ebay doesn't sound that bad.
  2. Wow Jeff, I can see why your excited, 12 years is a long time for someone who loves cruising. I'm glad things are looking up and that your getting back on your path. The common thread in your upcoming cruises is being able to share your love of cruising with family, there's something about sharing the experience that makes it that much more fun. Soon after I got hooked I took my Dad on a cruise and had a blast, hopefully I can get my Mom and her husband out sometime, it's definitly on my bucket list. Your Oasis trip will be a big one, it's hard for any kid (or anyone) not to get blown away by that ship, especially if they dont research it beforhand and go on blind. Enjoy the Enchantment, she's one of my favorites!
  3. It's important to think of it as just a place to sleep and get cleaned up. Ther are so many places around the ship to lounge or view the ocean, no need to waist time in your room. Also, in case the girls hog the shower you could always go to the gym and use theirs if needed.
  4. I think the bulletin board near gest services is more for people setting up a get-together outside of RCI functions.
  5. First drink. I'd say BBC, maybe Bloody Mary because I can't get a decent Caesar onboard. First meal. I'm not sure but it better be good, because after that I won't be hungry again. First location. I'm all about exploring, I'm finally on the ship! I must see it all. Iv tried going to the Jammer or bar but I'm too restless and want to see the ship. First activity. Depends on ship, but probably just explore till I get to room.
  6. I'm sailing into Port Canaveral on December 11th (12-9) and was wondering if anyone would like to do a meet up? If you live in the area it would be a good excuse to meet up and talk cruising over a drink or meal. I was thinking Grills or Fish Lips but am open to ideas. So far it's my wife Jessica and I, Stephanie (AGSLC5) and her fiance Jeremy. The more the merrier, we don't need to know each other to have a good time.
  7. Good point, we were 2 decks above aswell. Another thing to consider is if you get too high you may need to press your nose to the window just to see the floor of the promenade below. I did however note that the top level had a tilted window to help with that effect.
  8. Very touristy but good if you want a quick easy souvenir, maybe for friends or family back home. My wife won't go anywhere without getting a magnet or mug.
  9. That would be a hefty delay Kris, lol. Oh well, there is always group cruises. But yes, I do need a "This is a Jerel" tshirt.

  11. I'll have to pick your brain sometime, iv been planing on a thread asking what 'cruise books' people recomend. I really liked 'The cats table' and am now enjoying 'Dead wake'. Soon I think I will try 'Murder on the lusitania' or some ocean liner history books like 'The only way to cross'
  12. I may be flogged for saying this but you need to go on the Queen Mary 2. Best library at sea. https://youtu.be/Xj4oWfSBtlk
  13. Noise is not a issue at all. During the 70's party we could here something but not that bad, it would take a major show in order to hear something and they are at resonable hours. The view was nice but for us it turned into a novalty after awhile, much easier to just go down and be in it. Although it was nice to be able to peak at how busy it was. For us the big plus was the extra space, it's only a window bench but it comes in handy.
  14. I could be wrong but I thought I read that the Freedom was heading north, maybe NJ.
  15. You know what this means Matt, we will be expecting a decision on the 2018 group cruise all that much sooner.
  16. No repeats yet, although sooner or later I'll run out of ideas and have to. Besides, if it works why change.
  17. Thanks for all the info Donolog, I think I'll have to sit down and devise a better plan. Every payday I withdrawal some USD in cash for vacation savings, I know it's not the best plan but it works for me. My bank (CIBC) has tried to sell me on a USD credit card. I'll have to look back into it, the benifits of it seemed confusing to me at the time. The Rogers Mastercard linked in your article looked interesting too, I'll have to look into that one aswell. Thanks for the reminder there is better ways.
  18. On periscope he mentioned the number befor giving his tour.
  19. Billy, I had no idea Royal charges 3 percent to convert. I mentioned this to Jessica and she says she opts for the CC to do it like you said, turns out cheaper that way.
  20. Keep in mind your paying the same amount as every other guest, around 13 USD a day. It's not their fault our Canadian dollar is around .76 right now.
  21. With respect to those who died I have to admit I found that comment very hilarious, in context to the thread topic of course. Talk about first world problems in a third world country.
  22. ...when a deadly and devestating hurricane moves through and your first thought is hoping people's cruises don't get canceled.
  23. I (and many others) recomend going early, the more time on the ship the better. It also gives you time to explore befor many people board. You may get a email or pre recorded call from Royal telling you your boarding time is 2pm. Ignore it, it's a dirty trick trying to spread out the people boarding :). Enjoy!
  24. ...when your idea of a romantic evening is laying in bed watching youtube vids.
  25. ...when you spend all your time online discussing trivial things as if they were important.
