    Hmmm.  Florida and the Caribbean in midAugust is prime hurricane season.  Still, it is a good time to visit after the afternoon rains, letting the area cool down.

    You may want to go to some of the beaches for your extra time.  I suggest the west coast beaches. Sanibel,  Captiva and the Lee Island Coast have shelling and really good sunsets. Sarasota's Siesta Key has the best sugar sand. For quirkiness,  I think Venice with its shark teeth is really cool, and it had a mid-century vibe usually only replicated at amusement parks.

    Hope we get lucky with the weather then! 😁 Thanks for the reply, will certainly keep the beaches in mind!

  2. Hello all,

    My next planned cruise is 14th of August 2022 on Harmony sailing out of Port Canaveral on our honeymoon! We got engaged in March 2020 on Anthem on my first ever cruise so needed to surely go back on another RCL cruise for the honeymoon... We're due to visit;

    CocoCay (been before loved it) already have water park and jet skis planned.

    Nassau (been before, avoiding Atlantis this time, any other excursion recommendations?)

    Falmouth (although from following the forums it looks as though RC haven't visited here since cruising resumed? Does that make it likely this will be substituted or what is the situation?) Also wondering if anyone has any excursion recommendations for Falmouth in the event we do get to visit.

    Labadee.. as with Falmouth this looks unlikely?

    Originally after our cruise we were planning to spend our second week in Orlando, FL however we've been before and it got me thinking we could potentially just do another cruise sailing out of any of the Florida ports.. the soon to be wife loved this idea so now I am shopping around looking for another cruise to go on either the week before our Harmony sailing or after, the options I have at present are as follows;

    Symphony on 7th August out of Miami > CocoCay > Cozumel > Roatan > Puerto Rico > Miami.

    Explorer on 6th August out of Miami > Bonaire > Curacao > Aruba > Miami.

    Celebrity Equinox on 7th August out of Fort Lauderdale > Key West > Cayman Islands > Cozumel > FL. (leaning towards this but looking for advice on how practical it is to key from FL to PC - I've never drove in the U.S but am willing to if it's feasible to make this connection?

    MSC Divina on 4th August (sorry Royal!) PC > Nassau > Ocean Cay > PC > Ocean Cay > Costa Maya > Cozumel > PC.

    MSC Seashore 6th August Miami > San Juan > St. Thomas > Dominican Republic > Ocean Cay > Miami.

    We're both 27, likely to-do drinks packages regardless of which line and sailing we go on - we also really enjoy active holidays with only one or two days of downtime, we've only been on one cruise together but tend to get off the ship at every port and do one or two excursions.

    Lastly, if we were to see something in the region of 14+ days, are we able to contact Royal to change our current sailing on Harmony if its an option?

    Sorry long post but looking for advice to make it a holiday and honeymoon of a lifetime - any replies appreciated! 😁

    I Love, Love , Love this story! My story is similar bit not all on Royal, yet cruising nonetheless. My wife and I had our first overnight date on a short 3 day cruise that she arranged as a birthday gift to me. Three years later I proposed on a cruise, in Cozumel at the Mayan temple of marriage (long story but the excursion desk helped make it happen) because she is Hispanic and her ancestry (according to her dna) is Mayan. We were married on a cruise with 100 of our friends and family also on the cruise. Next month, on our anniversary, we will be in Cozumel, this time on adventure of the seas. I believe for the remainder of our time on this planet we will be forever tied to cruising. Your story is so similar to ours that I think you will see cruises as a component of your marriage. We are in in our early 50's now but we both see cruises as not just fun but a romantic reminder of our bond,  I hope for you that every cruise from here on out will be your honeymoon all over again, I know it is ours.

    Thank you for sharing your story - I couldn't agree more - I think we'll cruise forever now due to how special it is to us, same with our children in the future!

    I think I will always pick the Horseback riding in Falmouth. I love horseback riding and then getting to combine it with going in the water *chefs kiss*

    I also really liked that, once they heard and saw I had some experience on horseback, one of the guides let my horse actually run in the water while everyone else trotted or walked. Now THAT'S an experience! Feeling those powerful muscles crash against the waves and not even take a break in stride ?

    Going to Falmouth in August'22 - now very tempted to try this, thank you for sharing!

    We finally got a each day's video uploaded! If you'd like to relive our 7 Day cruise with us, check out the playlist here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL04seZZxEJSCq2BLqgYyl8eEhv97JIY8v

    Just binge watched all of your videos - thank you so much for sharing, so excited to get back to cruising! Hope you had as fantastic a time as it looked from the videos!!

  6. Excited cruising is coming back - great news! However, as @JeffBhas said out-with UK and Israel, Europe as a whole is having a disaster when it comes to vaccinating, due to various issues, behind the scenes politics being a big one. Worried Greece/Cyprus and Turkey (the main countries I have seen specifically targeting UK tourists) will end up with their own variants of the virus and further infection of UK and US citizens if either are allowed to travel to Greece and surrounding countries. Worried that on the US mainland side the CDC are watching with bated breath to see how things go in countries like Greece and Bahamas where vaccination isn't as good as UK/US and when it goes the wrong way they can point to their November 1st deadline and say told you all so... Hope I'm wrong, but you can't blame my pessimistic attitude after the last 12 months!

    There are numerous free things to do that are centric to a beach type getaway.  Free loungers and umbrellas on the beach or by the freshwater pool.

    You don't have to spend money to enjoy or explore CocoCay, the thrill waterpark is just once small area but the overall concept is a beach or pool type day.

    Totally agree with this. We bought the waterpark tickets but only really used it for an hour - majority of the time was spent chilling with a drink.. (or 5).

    We actually were looking to this just last week while we were in Aruba.  In order to get to the island with the flamingos you have to take a private boat over from the Renaissance resort as the island is owned by them.  The Renaissance is easily walkable from the cruiseport if you wanted to do this.   You can get a day pass which will allow you to visit the island and I think it runs $125 per person.  Alternatively you can get a room and will have the same access as a resort guest does, but that's only going to be a benefit if you can land a room that costs less than your day passes would cost together.  The thing to keep in mind that they only sell a certain number of day passes and they won't sell them once the hotel hits a certain capacity.  They don't sell the passes far in advance, so it's something you would need to look at closer to your cruise if you want this to be an option.  The site for the passes is: https://renaissancearuba.idaypass.com/

    We had four people and we decided it wasn't worth the visit for us since we were in Aruba for an entire week and there were plenty of other beaches to visit for free.  It would have been a fun experience, but the price didn't make sense for the type of trip we were on.   You get lunch and a drink with the day pass according to the site.  I don't know what the refund policy would be if your cruise port was missed or the date got changed, though so it might be something you would want to chance as a walk-up last minute.

    Thank you so much for this! Agreed $125 is steep but its been on the better half's bucket list for a long time so guess we will keep our eyes peeled for tickets going on sale in the run up to our cruise.

    Thanks again!

  9. Hello all  - first post on here so be nice please. ?

    Going on our 2nd ever cruise on our honeymoon - on Mariner of the Seas departing Orlando on August 13th, 2022. We are calling at;

    Oranjestad, Aruba.
    Willemstad, Curacao.
    La Romana, Dominican Republic.
    Perfect Day at CocoCay.

    We were on Anthem of the Seas on the 8th of March (the week before RC suspended sailing worldwide) - our first cruise together, it was amazing and has given us the bug! Luckily nobody on the ship was sick and we managed to get into all of our ports without problem.  I proposed onboard and our date is set for July'22 with this being our honeymoon.  We are looking for recommendations for our upcoming August'22 cruise, we are quite independent and happy to-do RC excursions or go it alone as well, only thing we have already done that we don't wish to re-do was swimming with the pigs at CocoCay.

    Also, has anybody been to Aruba and had any luck seeing the Flamingos? This is something we would love to-do but it looks as though it may be quite difficult!

    Thanks in advance of any replies/help! ☺️
