  1. We’re the opposite! We choose early searing or if not available do My Time and pick the earliest time each day, generally around 5:30 PM. With the late seating we feel like we loose time in the evenings and basically eat then head to bed. With the early seating, we get to wander around and people watch.
  2. Some of us choose inside cabins regardless of what level C&A we are. Not sure why you’re throwing shade at cruisers who enjoy our interior cabins.
  3. I do the same thing. I don’t carry my wallet so I just put it in my pocket. for the room lights, I have an old hotel room card in my suitcase that slides into the slot perfectly.
  4. Your best bet for the most up to date information would be the Healthy Sail Center on Royal's site. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center If you have a good travel agent, then they should be able to help you navigate these ever changing waters. Please note that information is subject to change at any time and while I appreciate (and help provide) the information on this board, the Healthy Sail Center is really the only definitive source.
  5. You should certainly complete the Special Needs form and work with your travel agent to ensure all is arranged. Here's the link to the form and the details. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/resources/guest-special-needs
  6. On Freedom, they didn't have the "big sales" in the promenade for social distancing purposes, but the sale was basically going on for the entire cruise. We were on a 4 night and the shops were not really open much. they also were using the staff in multiple venues, so all the shops were not open at the same time.
  7. I saw this on Freedom. I'm not a drinker, but will sample things from time to time. Since I had the refreshment package, I wonder if I could add a shot of something to a beverage and only pay the shot charge. Something to investigate in the future.
  8. I will admit that I got a lot of other things accomplished yesterday while the boards were down ?
  9. You should get them each their own email for lots of reasons outside of Royal , but if your reservations are linked, you can make all the ship reservations, do the health questions, check in, etc…. my in laws have their own Royal Accounts, but once we are linked, I do everything for them. I don’t think they even know their Royal passwords ? so many things want an email address and sharing one can cause issues, gmail is free and even if they never login, you can manage the account for them. We created my father in law an account years ago when we gave him our old iPad and created his Apple ID. Came in handy with making vaccine appointments this year since they wanted each person to have their own address during registration.
  10. As someone who completed both their undergrad and graduates degrees while working full time and participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation, my suggestion is to NOT travel during the semester. What little travel we did, was all between coursework and it as part of the sacrifices we made with our priorities, so your priorities could be different. however, if you’re asking here, then I think you’re subconsciously leaning towards canceling and looking for validation that it’s a good decision. good luck with your decision.
  11. Official recommendations are to not schedule a flight before noon. You never know when there could be an issue docking which could delay the process of getting off the ship, or delays in customs, etc.. no need in causing a stress point at the end of a relaxing trip
  12. I'm not in a big hurry for mine, but with the news of seeing when you may be able to check in, i got excited. Not sure if Explorer will do a "test cruise", but I'd suspect that it would be added before that happens.
  13. I wonder how close to the sailings that ships would be added to the app if they are not there yet (like Explorer). In the recent podcast @Matt discussed it with someone (whose name i forget) at Royal and they said that ships would be added as they go through the restart. I saw @Matt's post about seeing the potential "check in date" within the app, but at this point, Explorer is not able to be "clicked on".
  14. that's what it is. Our Sea day was originally Day 2 with Perfect Day on Day 4, but the CDC limits it to one ship at the private island at a time, so they swapped the days. We were also the only ship in Nassau, so everything was really quiet. We were told that there were 1600 passengers on the ship for this sailing.
  15. Can confirm that the pharmacy did have stamps. wish they had been self adhesive, but they worked! Now I'm waiting for the card to arrive.....
  16. Just got off the Freedom from our 4N cruise. Here are the cruise compasses if you (or @Matt ) wants them! Overall it was a great time (as usual). Looking forward to the next one! 17. Contact your travel agent or Royal to fill out the Special Needs form. On the form you can indicate that you will be bringing a CPAP machine and Royal will provide a gallon of distilled water and an extension cord for use. There is no charge for this and I also bring my CPAP along for the ride. You need to complete the form for EACH passenger. I'm not sure what they do if mulitple peopl in the same cabin need the extension cord, but i'm sure it has happened. Stay Safe Here's a link to the form that I have used in the past. -- https://www.royalcaribbean.com/resources/guest-special-needs
  18. Exactly, none of this changes anything for us. We’ve continued to mask up, socially distance, and practice our good hygiene. We’ve been fully vaccinated since February since both of us are in the health care fields. we have started to travel some, but still take all the precautions we can. We’ve always carried hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes when we travel, so we were wiping down plane seats before it was cool ? stay safe.
  19. This probably provides some context for the recent policy changes. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/cruise-ship-covid-cases-royal-caribbean/index.html
  20. Multiple things here. 1. ports are not guaranteed and can change at any moment. We’ve seen ports get canceled for weather, high waves, and medical emergencies. Sure it doesn’t happen often, but that’s the reality of the situation. 2. cruising in 2021 (and probably parts of 2022) will require patience and flexibility. It’s no secret that cruising is not back to “normal” so no one should expect everything to be smooth sailing (pun intended) 3. Using a good TA is key to a smooth operation. I like to do a lot of things on my own, but cruising has so many moving pieces that a good TA really makes it easier. 4. I’m all about getting the deal, but then price on Royals site is the price of the cruise. Any deals you are getting from another vendor (TA or website) could have different rules and policies and could affect many things that are out of Royal’s control. For example, when we used AAA they would not reprice a cruise without charging a fee, but that was their policy not Royal. I’d recommend using MEI Travel who sponsor this site, they’ve been amazing throughout all this. good luck.
  21. In my opinion, if you have any concerns you should make the change now and move on. No need to stress out over something that you have no control over. Making the change now allows you more time to research and pick a trip that meets your requirements. The most important thing is to have fun on vacation and the planning is part of that process. good luck.
  22. It took a bit for the TA to submit the form, then for Royal to accept it, and then to hit the planner. For us it was about 12 hours from the time I emailed the TA. ?
  23. I'd recommend a good travel agent for this type of thing.
  24. It is listed as Adults only (16 and older) but this really old post from @Matt in 2015 states that in rare cases that it could be opened up to 16 and under if they are directly supervised by and adult. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/11/16/everything-about-royal-caribbeans-solarium I was thinking that Covid could be a rare instance that causes it to be allowed only for vaccinated passengers even if they are under 16. it only came up since I was looking for the age limit in regards to our niece who will be cruising with our group and she is under 16 but fully vaccinated. Didn’t know if anyone who had cruised already had noticed what they were doing onboard. I seemed to remember that the age limit wasn’t necessarily 18, but couldn’t remember what it really was. Not a big deal, just something I thought of while on hold for something unrelated.
  25. Since the solarium pool on Freedom is listed as vaccinated only, have they been allowing those under 16 and vaccinated to use it?
