  1. A lot of sites have price tracking abilities. But what it doesn't take into account is what you originally paid. Our travel agency has a tool that we use; I get an email when a price changes. But it only says when it changes downward, meaning it could have gone up at some point and is now going down but it's still not lower than what it was. While these tools can be helpful, the only way to know for sure is to actually check the price. Unless your site has a way to input the data on the original price then it's not going to be more helpful than other sites. Sorry.
  2. A cruise wouldn't be canceled if some cabins are empty. It's better to sail with some people than no people! But I'd bet it will fill up a lot more between now and then.
  3. This is true. So if the reservation was made 9 months ago, that means the TA never went into the system to check pricing or deal with your reservation in any way. And you never put it into your Crown & Anchor account, nor did you check your credit card statement. I have no idea what happened here and I will not put the blame on any one person, but I don't see Royal Caribbean doing a price match in this case. This could have been resolved 8 months ago with just a couple of checks.
  4. $19.99 is a much more reasonable price, but that's still too much IMO.
  5. Black Diamond is the private car service I recommend. They have carseats available.
  6. You don't need them; the porters will have them at the port. It's easier if you have them, sure, but they aren't necessary and nothing at all to stress about!
  7. The studio in Miami is basically a replica of the stage with blocking and lighting on it. It's really cool, and allows for a seamless transition to the cast to go from practice to real life.
  8. Still too expensive. Should be included in the cruise price. I'm not going.
  9. Anything you book through a US agency will need to be booked in US dollars- if you book on your own in CAD you can't transfer it either.
  10. This is a neat tool- this is why I don't pay these prices for the drink package. The only time I purchased the package it was on sale for like $37 per day! For my upcoming cruise: Each person needs to drink 6.8 drinks per day to break even No thank you.
  11. I would put the money down first then transfer it. You have 30 days to transfer it to the TA. The reason I say this is that it can take a week to get the transfer through. Normally it doesn't take that long but it does happen. So put the deposits down and email ship, sail date, and all reservation#s (with the last name of the lead guest) to your TA.
  12. I always tell clients final payment date is several days before it's actually due. Because anything can happen on either end.
  13. Basically we get $25 for interior, $50 for oceanview, $100 for balcony or suite. Then we split that with the agency of course. So I could have a $1000 commission that goes down to $100 in two seconds. So if that upgrade was even commissionable your agent gross commission would be no more than $100. Sometimes upgrades aren't commissionable.
  14. I am pretty sure it is $0 for a 3 night cruise.
  15. Twangster's entire comment was correct, but this part is spot on. "Rebating" is a hot topic here because it's a competition between small, independent agents/agencies (such as MEI) and big box stores (like Costco or Amex Travel). This is true and varies by agency, as well as what percentage Royal Caribbean pays the agency (the more volume you do, the higher the commission percentage). So yes, repricing to a lower fare affects commission (as does adding a casino code, which DRASTICALLY affects commission, don't get me started on that one). Bottom line- We still stand by our service, and we have to get paid. I simply cannot give away $300 when I'm making $200.
  16. If you want to cruise in Hawaii, NCL is your only real option there. But if you want Royal Caribbean then what others said- you just have to grab it when it's out.
  17. Registered sex offenders are not allowed to cruise. The cruise lines run the manifest a few days before sailing and they will call you and let you know you can't cruise.
  18. The rules have changed recently on groups- you may want to call Royal Caribbean today. I don't want to alarm you but you may be in danger of losing the whole group. I am not 100% sure when the change goes into effect.
  19. I really liked the sip and brunch tour! Unlimited mimosas!
  20. I don't print anything. Partially environmental, mostly laziness lol. Even before the app I wouldn't print a set sail pass. It's true travel agents are our own worst clients!
  21. Two rooms, regular or group rate. Often the rooms for 4 are more expensive than rooms for 2 by more than double. With or without KSF I have seen it cheaper to do two rooms than one room.
  22. We did not get to even to into the fjord/glacier on my September cruise on Quantum of the Seas. This was at Enicott/Dawes Glacier. We didn't have plans to stop or let people off but it was a "sea" day so we had to just turn around due to ice and fog.
