Really hoping it is not cancelled, as it is scheduled to depart Barcelona Oct 31.  We already lifted and shifted to this date, so I am praying things improve and they allow it to go
 

Looking forward to our aft corner JS on Rhapsody this fall for our Greek Islands cruise. ?

Which cruise is more appealing for you guys this summer? Adventure sailing out of Nassau, or Vision sailing out of Bemuda?

Something I figured out recently (for non Star Class purposes...)
Odd number are distinctly different compared to even number within a cabin type.
2D/4D balcony for example vs. 1D/3D balcony.  
The number does not indicate the exact capacity but it gives a hint at it, at least in terms of odd number vs. even number.
 
So how does it work...
Starting with an even number means it can accomodate 2 guests.
Starting with an odd number means it can accommodate more than 2 guests.  
If you are looking at a 2D or 2N or 4D or 4V or whatever type of cabin, the even number means that cabin has a capacity of 2 guests (except for studios).
If you see a 1D or 3N or 5D or whatever with an odd number that cabin can accommodate more than 2 guests.
Studio cabins have a capacity of 1 so they deviate from this a little. The number doesn't matter, studio can sleep one guest.
 
What about the letter?
The letter is the cabin type, interior, oceanview, balcony, etc.
The most common are:
D = balcony
N = Oceanview
V = interior
U = virtual balcony (interior)
J = Junior Suite
 
While D generally means balcony, what about a "spacious" balcony?  Enter the letter B or C.
B/C = spacious balcony
While N generally indicates oceanview what about spacious oceanview?  Enter the letter M or L
M/L = Spacious oceanview
 
There are a few more letters in play.  Full suites and newer cabin types like boardwalk or central park introduce new letters as shown in the chart posted by @Lovetocruise2002.

This is the first ship I cruised on in 2001. Celebrity Mercury. Like another poster here who liked RCL's Majesty of the seas, I found Celebrity Century class ships gorgeous inside and outside. Unlike today's monstrous and often gaudy interiors Mercury felt like a ship in the true sense of the word. When Century left Celebrity's fleet not too long ago, I was deeply saddened. Mercury (Mein Schiff) and Horizon are still sailing with other companies. A testament to both their continuing architectural appeal and good bones.  
 

I'm not at all against cruising with the new restrictions.   I'm looking forward to my first cruise back on Quantum which WILL be in August for an Alaskan cruise.  I'm trying to stay positive and I hope to be vaccinated by then.  My only concern is what happens if only ONE person tests positive after boarding the ship.  I'm sure I would continue to to abide by the restrictions but confining EVERYONE to their stateroom seems a bit extreme unless it is temporary precaution.  I have a suite booked so it wouldn't be too bad ... I guess.  I could still enjoy the Alaskan scenery from the balcony!  I would like to get out of the stateroom eventually though.
Great video ... I now have a better idea about what to expect in August.  I'm looking forward to the cruise in August and I'm starting to believe it will actually happen.

The CDC has three possible criteria for ending the ban. November 1, 2021, is just the fallback one.
If the Secretary of Health and Human Services no longer declares COVID-19 a "public health emergency" or if the CDC Director rescinds or modifies their order would also result in the ban being over (or modified).

Elvis Pinto was (I think) Activities Director on my Vision cruise this past spring.  He was a blast!  Very entertaining, and I saw him everywhere on the ship.  I'm not surprised he's now a Cruise Director! 

The news always takes the "doom and gloom" approach because it garners way more ratings than "things will be fine".  
They always latch onto the worst case scenario discussions because it gets them clicks/views.

I'd do that in a heartbeat.  I mean...you'll already be over there.   Just pace yourselves and be realistic about expectations.
 
On a related note, I'd give anything to have one more family vacation with all three kids.  Life is so short.
 

Well, IMHO I am going to say YOLO! You have stated that you have issues that will keep you from being able to do this as you get older, and you are just as much of a cruise junkie as I am!  In other words DO IT!!!  I know it has been awhile since we all have been able to take a cruise and we all need a vacation, so if I were in your shoes that cruise would be booked immediately!!!

Take this with a grain of salt as we haven't done Med yet. It is on our list though. We would definitely lean towards a B2B because of the cost of flights for 4 people. We would even consider adding a few days on in Italy at the beginning.

we were on the Jewel 2 cabins up from the aft cabins across the back.  There was a noticeable vibration when we came in to port and the ship was lining up with the pier.  Other than that, we did not notice any unusual vibrations.  We love the aft cabins and always try to book rooms toward the back, or the cabins on the very back.
 

To go on more cruises... DUH! 

Some people have preferences and when they get assigned outside of their preference it's "bad".  For example being the last cabin all the way forward or aft means more walking.  Some don't like that.  I see it an opportunity to eat more in the Windjammer.  

I’m wondering if this is indicative of more cancellations coming OR they’re trying to reduce capacity again without having to boot people. I’ll go with option 2! 
 

I think we got booted. Just got a notification from RC that our 2 rooms on Anthem's Christmas cruise and our cruise planner items were canceled. Nothing yet from our TA and the RC appears to still be taking reservations for that cruise. I really hope this is a mistake!

You got your tags in the docs - that's a warm fuzzy.  Fingers crossed for expiration of the no sail in 3 days
 

Mariner, Navigator, Indy. All have short itinerary's and stops at RCCL Private Island. Just my guess but they need to control everything they can when cruising so I would go with them, also many guests can drive to those embarkation ports. Here's hoping we cruise RCCL soon!
