  1. Absolutely love Blue Hawaiians frozen or not! And for @Pooch when we were on the Freedom in April…my son made friends with a bartender working the bar at the pool. That bartender introduced him to the BBC and we all drank them for the rest of the afternoon! There were 6 of us drinking them so perhaps we emptied out the supply of banana rum? . Sooo delicious!
  2. Guess what? I received the email late last night! Woo hoo…now I don’t have to make a call! I just had to initial and click complete. I printed and put with my papers for this Saturday!
  3. We are sailing from FLL in September with friends and they booked Fairfield Inn & Suites FLL Airport/Cruise Port. So that’s where we will stay as well. Since you’re planning to cruise in late December, I will be back here in late September to let everyone know my thoughts. Stay tuned!
  4. I have not received the approval email so I will call the toll free number again tomorrow and will update everyone here on what I find out.
  5. There is another topic on this forum with several suggestions as well.
  6. I have eaten lunch in the MDR in the past with no issues and it was definitely a very relaxing lunch hour and food was very good. I have been reading this blog for quite some time now and topic answers can always go either way…good…bad. I do believe @Poochhad a tough experience but not necessarily everyone else’s will be the same. My suggestion…if you would like to try the MDR for lunch…go ahead and try it.
  7. Thanks for the tips @tagpsu. I am thinking about heading over to Hamilton with my daughter and possibly renting mopeds? We a,so want to check out Horseshoe Beach. That restaurant sounds great again thanks!
  8. How about a recent cruise compass for a 5 nighter on Adventure to Bermuda? Anyone?
  9. The vaccination approval typically takes a week or two to become valid. As the others stated…you need to have your actual vaccination card with you when boarding.
  10. Here’s an update: I called the toll free number and waited less than 10 minutes to speak to someone. The rep told me I need to wait until 7 days before my cruise and if I have not received the authorization at that time I can call back and they will do it over the phone. Also a COVID test is needed and it can be the eMed proctored test…2 days before sailing.
  11. There is no rhyme or reason to when and which ships get offered Royal Ups. I received an email 2 weeks ago for my September 17 (Allure) cruise but the bidding prices are sooo out of whack I would not even think about trying to move on up! Way too pricey for me...for sure! I did however place a few bids for my Aug 13th (Adventure) cruise but have no hope of winning as this cruise has been sold out for over a month now!
  12. I'm one of those that believes you should board at the time you have reserved which is 1:30. Sure you wanted an earlier boarding time...so do lots of other passengers! But your boarding time is what it is and that is when you should arrive to board. If 100 (or more) other passengers who have the 1:30 boarding time all show up at 10:30 like you...that takes away from the actual passengers who rightfully checked in and received the 10:30 boarding spot. Yes... I am someone who has always followed the rules. Perhaps I am in the minority??
  13. I am on the Aug 13 cruise to Bermuda on Adventure. Royal has not sent me any communication and I have been reading and responding to topics here on the blog with others questioning what we need to do! Seems many of us have not received communication from the Bermuda Travel Authorization site either! And we have all submitted our applications well in advance!
  14. I was thinking about calling the 800 number that is listed in the original email confirming I submitted properly. Also I checked and haven’t been charged the $40 per application yet! Keep us posted on your information in next few days!
  15. Norwegian Pearl is docked in Bermuda now (I watched it on the webcam an hour ago) and looks fine to me. Must have been scary for those on the Gabby G…the Pearl is a monster!
  16. I believe FCC’s no longer expire. This was a topic discussed on the forum several months ago. If I am incorrect, someone will let me know.
  17. Hmmmm I’m not sure. I think I remember seeing a few sitting at the outside tables (where we ate) but not 100% sure. Maybe someone else will be able to chime in and have the answer.
  18. I just checked mine and can still modify all bids. My cruise is 2 weeks away on Adventure which apparently is sold out because it has not been listed for pricing at least for a few weeks now! I am not very hopeful but it’s fun to bid and wish!
  19. Check out the Roll Call section on this blog and see if your cruise is already listed…you’ll have an idea of perhaps a few others on the same cruise.
  20. The Solarium Bistro. Delicious food and quiet (well at least it was in November when I was on it).
  21. Is your cruise very close? Could be that there is no time left to make different offers. Otherwise, I would say to log out and log back in from beginning and see what happens.
  22. Royal Up is not always available for every sailing…and sometimes the bids they want are pretty steep to begin with! My Allure cruise for September recently sent the RU email and I wouldn’t even think about offering what they want as minimum bids! Crazy high! And as noted above there is absolutely no guarantee you would win! If you prefer a different room type and it is available for a decent additional cost to your inside room price…do your own upgrade and book it! If you booked this cruise through Royal…call them and make the change. If you used a TA, you will need to call them to make the change for you.
