  1. I like the 3 night specialty dining option because it allows me to skip a day in-between and eat in other venues during 7 night cruises. I prefer to go where the urge takes me during vacation. Happy cruising!
  2. Same here. Two of us called RCCL via conference call to rebook the canceled Odyssey cruise. My friend received her refunds in a few days, I am still waiting for mine. The hold up might be specific to the RCCL BOFA card depending on your statement closing date.
  3. I live in Melboune, Fl. On the ocean side, approximately 45 minutes south of Port Canaveral. 3 hours north of Miami. Here our positive numbers are low. Deaths have been nil. Don't believe everything you hear or read from the news. MOST people are acting responsibly. From what I have been told by acquaintances in the health care industry it has become standard to test each person who are infected or believe themselves to be infected three times each. The reason behind being tested three times is due to an abundant availability of tests kits. Additionally the kits are not 100% accurate and often produce negative, false positive and positive results. Therefore the numbers being reported are tripled based on the amount of tests being administered. In the county I live in the population is 602,000. Since March 2020 we have reported 3945 confirmed cases, 46 deaths.
  4. Agree with using it or losing it. Plenty of onboard spending options though.
  5. I agree on it all depends what what happen going forward. In the past if you purchased THE KEY you were already reserved for a specialty lunch on day 1. The specialty three night dining package provided you with opens to purchase day 1 or day two dinner options and you had to make specialty dinner options after boarding by calling from one of the ships phones dialing 55013. If you have downloaded the APP you can look at all of the lunch snd various lunch and dining options.
  6. Doesn't everyone like free money? Thanks RCCL! My many years of past parochial schooling so many decades ago and my religious beliefs and faith have left me feeling guilty and ashamed to even consider such things however; I have placed those who are able to change the current situation on notice of how my keen and devilish mindset sees things. Having six cruises cancelled this year since March I have noticed a way to make free 125% FCC money. I have brought this matter to the attention of numerous booking agents directly employed with RCCL and been advised they will notify their supervisors of this. I have even written and telephoned RCCL's tech people only to be abruptly hung up on with a half-hearted "Thank You" and to date never receiving the courtesy of a written response. So why do I still feel guilty? Have my guilty feelings, gravitational pull on my aging body and loss of the ozone layer which I truly miss prior to venturing outside and slathering on gobs of sunscreen jaded me? Many seniors are not tech savvy or follow the CDC or CLIA. Perhaps many have not even noticed the ability to book pre-cruise items even though a cruise has been canceled. Albeit an unscrupulous and perhaps scandalous thing to do if you have a few bucks to spare you are able load up on pre-cruise planner items and hold onto your hat while watching your FCC wallet grow fatter. For example who needs to book a few floating multiple cabanas for each individual cruiser in your party of six people? At a cost of almost $1600.00 pp the FCC money really begins to add up. Prepaid excursions, no problem. Try this, multiply by125% and pat yourself on the back; you just received a huge chunk of free money! The website allows for you to make pre-cruise purchases even though a cruise has canceled but you must be quick and book it before or as late as the same day the cruise has been cancelled. Tell my cruise genie and butler the secret password "Free Money" when ringing my penthouse cruise suite doorbell so they will let you in. Kindly excuse me as soon as you arrive as I leave my suite to go to the ships chapel and pray for myself before heading to the casino and bars onboard. Happy future cruising!
  7. On the current App our October 18th cruise aboard Harmony shows check-in begins July 20th. We experienced the exact same scenario as you just 3 days before our September 27th cruise was canceled. Both the website and App kept bouncing back and forth between check-in not available to check-in one day before the scheduled set sail date to check-in allowed on the same date the cruise was scheduled. 12 hours Hoping your cruise and ours is not canceled if we begin to see this same thing occurring on both the App and website again.
  8. Having already have to cancel six cruises since February this year, rebooking, shifting and being disappointed by cancelled cruises aboard Oasis and Quantum class ships; I am trying to remain hopeful cruising from US ports will resume sooner than later. This being said I have booked a few 3-4 night puddle jumpers out of Canaveral versus all our extended night cruises on the larger vessels. Hopefully if these short jaunts are allowed they will help with our itch to get back to cruising. Having already been to so many of the same destinations we usually don't get off the ship anyway once we arrive in ports we have been to unless it is visit with locals we have met along the way or to visit our favorite places. For us, it is all about the cruising experience and socializing with good friends as well as meeting new and fun people along the way. Keeping my fingers crossed we be allowed to set sail again soon if only for a short jaunt.
  9. We always tip. Take good care of the crew and they will take good care of you.
  10. RCCL IT department has either dropped the anchor again or the Harmony cruise for September 27, 2020 that is 73 days out is about to be cancelled. We previously we able to check-in and print three of our party of four's boarding passes on day 79 before the cruise. As of yesterday, July 15th, 2020 both the website and the mobile app are no longer allowing check-in or allowing you to print your set sail passes. The website states check-in is not available and the mobile app has deleted our boarding passes and now states check-in is not until September 26th, 2020 which is one day before the scheduled departure. I telephoned the IT department and had the unpleasant experience of speaking with a rather surly woman. Not the type of interaction I am accustomed to with RCCL. She told me to try again 60 days before the scheduled sailing and abruptly hung up on me! I had previously been trying everything from refreshing my screen to changing browsers and logging in via incognito mode prior to calling to resolve the issue on my own. Nothing is working and apparently neither is anyone in their IT department. I simply cannot wrap my brain around being abruptly hung up on and not being offered any solution other than to try again 60 days to one day before the sailing date. Bad way to treat your loyal long time customers and in light of the fact RCCL still owes us refunds for cruises they have had to cancel; RCCL is really giving us cause us to change our mind about future cruises with them and considering starting from the beginning with their competitors when things get back to normal again.
