  1. A fully vaccinated 10 year old would NOT get a COVID test at the end of the cruise. The vaccinated child has the same vaccinated rules as a fully vaccinated adult.
  2. If 1 or 2 extra stop by, noone seems to say anything. If there are lots of extra people, then something might be said. On our November cruise, the cabana next to us was rowdy and there were 4 extra people. Our cabana attendant (who we had over the summer), had his supervisor come over to remove the 4 extras. Our attendant apologized to us (we didn't really care) since it was noisier than usual. Keep in mind, with the waterpark cabana, you get 6 water park admissions. You will still need to purchase 3 water park admissions for all 9 to go into the waterpark.
  3. Same thing happened to me. I chose to book a quick 3-night with a friend for a Mom's Get-A-Way. Win win all around! My family will benefit from my Diamond status. I figured one of us should take the hit and why not me?
  4. Hi - We just booked a 7-night Greek Isles cruise for June 2023. We are traveling with our family of 4 (two teens ages 15 and 18). We are visiting the following ports: Venice (Ravenna) - St. Mark's Sq., Murano/Burano, Rialto Bridge/Canal, gondola Athens - Acropolis, Pathenon, and museums Mykanos - Windmills; any good day passes for resorts/clubs; possible rent a boat/yacht for the day? Corfu - ??? Kotor - ??? Argostoli - Melissani Lake, Drogarati Cave, Makris Gialos beach Can anyone provide excursion recommendations whether RCL or private and any must-see items other than those I listed? Private vendor recommendations are appriciated and welcome.
  5. See my previous post. This is what we do when we cruise. I have two teenaged kids and put them in one room and my husband and I stay in the other room. Inside connecting door and we also have the balcony separation opened for a bigger balcony.

  7. Thanks to those who replied. VERY helpful! My friend and I have discussed this at length and we know the risks. Of course if one of us chose to sail, we would reimburse the other for the cruise fare. I wasn't sure if there was a benefit for letting RCL know or just "no showing". One more question...in order to no show for Jane Doe, John Doe would just tell RCL upon check-in at the port?
  8. Hi - I am booked on a weekend cruise at the end of March with a friend. We do not live together and are in different states. If one of us tests positive and the other does not, can the one person still sail on the cruise? I am sure the answer is yes, but I would like the specifics of refunds and/or FCC and C&A points. 1. If Jane Doe is a no show at port, then I know they get their port fees and taxes back, but "lose" the cruise fare. John Doe sails single and gets regular C&A points. The cruise fare is lost or reimbursed by John Doe to Jane Doe or whatever the two decide. 2. Jane Doe calls RCL and lets them know they tested positive for COVID. Jane gets fully reimbursed. Can John Doe still go on the cruise? Does John need to pay more? Does John then get the single sailing C&A cruise points? 3. Any scenario I am missing? John would still go on the cruise (if negative COVID) even if Jane cannot. Sorry not sorry!
  9. We typically book connecting balcony rooms. You get 2 bathrooms and more space than a suite for a fraction of the cost. We put the kids in one room with the twin beds and we stay in the other room. The balcony can be opened up on most ships and there is an inside connecting door that is open. I should also mention we travel with Autism on the Seas so we get many of the suite benefits anyway like priority boarding, private venue time, reserved section for the shows, etc. Many of the suite benefits are not needed.

  11. Hi Nessa, I found this on RCL FAQ: What is the Cruise with Confidence policy? A As of May 6, 2020, we have enhanced and expanded our Cruise with Confidence policy to give you even more peace of mind. The new Cruise with Confidence policy allows our guests that booked their cruise on or before January 31, 2022, to cancel any cruise departing on-or-before May 31, 2022, up to 48 hours before your sail date and receive a Future Cruise Credit. The credit can be used toward any cruise that sets sail through December 31, 2022, or one year from the original sailing date, whichever is later.
  12. I purchased a coffee card for my Adventure sailing this past summer. I was told by the Adventure folks that I could use the coffee card on other sailings. They only punched once per coffee no matter what I ordered. Fast forward to Thanksgiving on the Symphony....I was told a grande specialty coffee was 2 punches AND they were doing me a favor since coffee cards were no longer transferable to different ships. I stopped using the coffee card and had 5 punches left. While I do not agree with in general with what I am about to tell you, I had my husband, who had a refreshment package, get me 4 more coffees on that sailing using his refreshment package. Sorry not sorry. I paid for a coffee card and I used the value of the coffee card.
  13. Ovation of the Seas - I looked at a cruise compass posted and see it is on Deck 4 and open on the first day until 7PM! 199 days to go!
  14. Should I do this on Day 1 or 2 of the first cruise? Is the Loyalty Ambassador located by guest services?
  15. We cruised on Adventure over the summer! We LOVED the lower capacity and excitement of the crew welcoming us back to cruising. We got a cabana in the Thrill Waterpark at Cococay and the attendant was fantastic! His name is Henry. When we sailed again in November on the Symphony, we had him again for our cabana. It was amazing!!!
  16. Actually, my husband, <18 y.o., and 18 y.o. will get their own Diamond status after the 2nd Alaska. Gotta love double cruise points!
  17. I do realize this is a good problem to have. I am booked on a B2B Alaska 2022 sailing with my husband and two kids. I would have made Diamond status after 1 night on the second Alaska sailing. Ug! So frustrating! Well...there is a great promo going on so I booked a 3-night cruise with a friend of mine that will allow me to have Diamond status for the second B2B. WOOHOO!!!! Ladies weekend! Because Diamond status is honored for your spouse and kids under 18 (only 1 of my kids will be under 18 at the time of Alaska), I was able to save buying drink packages for Alaska and that more than covered the cost of the 3-night cruise! I am using miles for airfare so the airfare is a whopping $11.20. I think it is a great trade - cruise for Diamond status and no drink packages needed for 3 of us. My 18-year old is autistic and only drinks soda anyway. Score for me!
  18. Hi. Currently sailing with RCL. I am trying to take advantage of some cruise planner sales and keep getting an error when I try to check out. Spoke to shore excursions, guest services, and next cruise on board and none can help. Called RCL from stateroom phone and was told they are working on the issue, but it hasn’t been corrected in over 24 hours. I will call again today. Has anyone else experienced issues? This is the error: We're sorry. We couldn't complete your request but are working to fix the issue.
  19. So today when we asked at guest services, we were told 3,000. In Miami, they said 3800. This is Symphony. I can say lines are minimal. Elevators are 6 and no one follows that. Pool capacities are not listed. There were pool chairs available on a sea day every time I looked (morning, midday, afternoon). Windjammer is open for dinner.
  20. Day 1. Yes, there are some lines in Sorrentos and Cafe Promenade, but not too bad. We did have to wait for elevators and capacity on elevators is not really being followed.
  21. On Symphony. Windjammer is open for dinner. We were told 918 kids on board for this Thanksgiving week. We were told 4896 passengers. The ship feels much busier than over the summer on Adventure and yes, we had to wait for elevators.
  22. Hello from Symphony of the Seas! Well…we arrived with wet clothes. We spoke to our cabin steward and handed him the huge pile of wet clothes and asked if they could be dried only. Told him what happened and asked if there was anything that could be done (with a $20). We got our clothes back, dried and folded just about 15 minutes ago. Thanks for all of the advice!
  23. Thanks for all of the advice. We use packing cubes, we tried the hair dryer. I neglected to mention the suitcases themselves are soaking so drying clothes only to put them back into wet suitcases would make them wet/damp again. we dried some items overnight in our room. We have 2 carryons that are dry so we have clothes for a day or two. What we can dry in our staterooms will help and we will send other items to the ship laundry (maybe with that $20 bill) to get us through. Of all the years I traveled for business, I haven’t seen suitcases soaked like this. I swear they were left in puddles out on the tarmac. LOL How can I be that upset? We all have clothes and we are on vacation!
