I tried that for a number of cancelled cruises.  I wish you better luck than me.

I had my Allure Jan 17 2021 chartered. I moved to one of the offered dates, Jan 10 2021 and given a $600obc. I spent it all in pre cruise planner. Cruise cancelled. I received email from Royal with link to 125% cruise planner credit. I filled out my info. Still waiting for certificate, should be $750 for me to apply to a future sailing.
  3. Thanks

We had a cruise moved from August 2021 to august 2022.  It was originally booked at Next Cruise.  The obc went with it.

I believe a big part of this is because we use a travel agent

Typically to retain NextCruise OBC for example they'll need you to make a new booking.  If you ask to have the Next OBC moved to a different existing booking that has typically not been allowed.  But as they say, it never hurts to ask, maybe you'll be the first to discover a new policy.

It depends how you came into the OBC.
Sometimes Royal allows OBC to be transferred to a new booking made from a cruise they cancel.
I'd suggest if the cruise cancels that you call and talk to a human rather than trying to do something online.  Before you do anything inquire about the OBC and ask if it can be moved to a new booking.
The 125% cruise planner purchases program has typically only applied to cruise planner purchases made with a credit card, not OBC purchases so the 125% will most likely not be available for OBC.

Think there has only been 1 death and 4 or 5 cases, as you say no link just a country taking measures to ensure its safe and other countries have followed. i read about the 1 batch that may have an issue, this batch can now be purchased online from Lucky lenny's online market catering for all your needs lol

Can you honestly say, without fault, that the vaccinations that are being distributed, IF you took/received it, can AND will protect you from EVERY variant of COVID?? We all know that the vaccinations that are approved and are being distributed do not guarantee protection from EVERY variant of COVID. That's why we are still fighting this horrid pandemic and cruise ships cannot sail without guidance and protocols. There are currently are NO "100% vaccinated zone" in existence as if there were, cruises would have been sailing from U.S. ports already.

No doubt. Especially when that company can justify it by saying "we're helping out our employees whose countries are struggling to get the vaccine"

Hi we would like to offer you and your management team a free vacation ... we are going to need you to bring a couple hundred thousand of your vaccine doses with you though ...

Yep, these 25% profit margin on cancelled cruises are slowly paying for my annual summer cruises with the kids...and don't forget the additional 25% for cancelled on-board spend like drink packages....I've taken to booking Suites...worst case scenario is I cancel and get 100% fcc....or I actually get to cruise and have treated myself to a suite life ?

My understanding of the vaccines that they won't be available for private purchase, as there are so many countries needing to purchase, a backlog on production... and all the co-vax countries.  Everyone needs global vaccination as we're so interconnected. It was certainly frowned on by uk authorities when it came out that some wealthy individuals were paying huge sums to travel to the UAE to get vaccinated early.  Not sure how vaccines are going to be sourced by private corporates.

Think you're right, especially if they have to add crew vaccinations with wait times.   I don't know the cost difference between the different vaccines, but would guess they'll have to weigh that along with the availability in the region they're going to perform vaccinations. (1 dose versions vs 2 dose  versions)

All depends where in the UK you are, the joyus postcode lottery, some parts of the UK they are now contacting the under 50's for their first jab. Re the gap between jabs, I'll leave that to the experts, depending who you believe we've either got it spot on, or we haven't!!

I was really hoping my May Oasis cruise would sail but it didn't turn out that way.  I do think we are very close to hearing news of the restart coming alive.  That doesn't mean the restart will begin tomorrow, rather we will soon get news of progress towards a restart.
To hedge my bets I booked a June cruise and may book another.  I'm not positively, absolutely convinced they will sail either, but the 25% bonus is hard to ignore and worst case is the ship does sail.
Any time the worst case scenario is actually going on a cruise, I'll take that bet every time.

Couldn't agree more ... we should be allowed to travel at our own risk, and now that vaccines lower/mitigate the risk we pose to others I think it's not unreasonable to expect people to be vaccinated before travelling

I'm still optimistic about July sailings from Southampton...
    1. Anthem at Le Havre port France, via British waters (rumour that its crewing up, just rumour atm)
    2. RCL like putting on 3 two week cruises in a row that coincide with the UK school holidays - blog group cruise is immediately before these cruises
    3. I think they may want to get at least 1 cruise in before the 3 biggies with all the kids and families on-board (not a good look if those 3 cruises go tits up re covid)
    4. Even with case numbers in Europe going up and potential 3rd lockdown stories flying around (true for some countries like Italy), but there are countries who want to open up to UK tourists that are vaccinated (or holidays departing from UK like cruises) - these include Spain (and Belgium) which has less than 5k daily new cases; then there's Portugal that has less than 1000/day...the other European country that has less than 1000/day?  Norway, home of those Fjords ?.
    5. If they do domestic cruising in the UK - that would need a smaller ship that can fit in UK ports - jewel of the seas in Southampton (last time I checked).  Earliest they can do these sailings will be 17th May her in the UK.
    6. Earliest possible for international cruising from Southampton is looking like 21st June...
    7. There's a big update in the UK on April 12th - expected is transport review (incl international travel); also expecting update on vaccination passports as well...UK maritime minister has already confirmed cruising will fall into these reviews.
    8. I would keep an eye on the 12th April review and any updates on quarantine hotels (international arrivals to UK have to lockdown in hotels by law for 10 or 14 days).  Sky news is available live on YouTube and always shows these news conferences.
I think that we might have 2 RCL ships this summer...it'll be interesting to see what happens, but I wouldn't give up hope for that group cruise just yet.

I do think cruises will happen in June or July.  But I think they will be shorter in length, less than 7 days.  And may not be available to international travelers, if they are cruises in another country.  And of course, only some of the ships will sail first few months..  That is the big question....What ships are going to start first.  I expect 7 day cruises will start maybe Sept.  Or a couple months after shorter cruises start.
I had April and May cruises cancelled and my next one is out of Southampton in Sept., and it is 9 nights, so do not see it happening at all.
So this summer I have trips booked in the US. Charleston, SC.  Vegas.  etc.
I have 5 cruises booked for next year and planning on most things to be back to normal by then.  And have 2 cruises booked December this year and hoping they will be a go.  I am more than ready to cruise.  Even with restrictions.
