  1. My family members SO is in this "no rush boat" and I said to them there truly is no rush I booked when I wanted they can book if they like or not it's up to them. But it would be nice if I save a few bucks with to long wait
  2. Yeeeeepppp but idc if they come or not it a cruise for my own celebration so I'm definitely going. They told me last night that they think cancel for any reason insurance is cheaper than a refundable deposit and I said do whatever you like if you come you come if not I don't feel any certain way
  3. This is what I figured. I have a family member who wants to book but is dragging they're feet bc they want a "deal" that I don't think exists. They don't see the rush to book early which honestly there is no rush I just know it won't go cheaper this day and age. But would be nice to save a few bucks. Family member is basically push DCl saying it's the same price with more includes (soda and what not) I'm just not a Disney person and don't need all the gimmicky dinners and kids stuff. ( parent of two for reference and still think my kids would have more fun on Royal)
  4. Okay very true about canceling and rebooking with the refundable fair. My TA says she looks daily for cruise discounts but I feel like I'll look too hear and there it's just so tideous putting everyone's info into the Royal website to see the prices
  5. I booked well in advance for a cruise next spring (2025) I booked with a refundable deposit. 1st question is when it comes to rebooking if I see a cheaper price will it be for my exact identical booking (same room category and refundable deposit, added gratuities) 2nd how often do you save money booking so far in advanced?
  6. Follow up question if anyone is still following. I'm looking to book a spring 2025 cruise. Do those of you who plan so far out in advance purchase cancel for any reason policies? So much can happen in over a year for now. Just trying to gauge the general consensus here
  7. Thank you, I've looked at allianz and travel guard and so far 100% like their offerings more. I'll check out the website you mentioned
  8. Is royals trip insurance worth it? I'm looking to book a cruise that's in 2025. I definitely want insurance but unsure how to go about getting trip insurance when the cruise isn't until may 2025. I haven't cruised in a few years but remember royals insurance not being the best bang for the buck
  9. I'm sorry for those that canceled under cruise with confidence and just got a FCC....but you knew you were only getting a FCC when you canceled so why would you expect a refund the next day or days later when royal did cancel? Just playing devil's advocate here. I get it's frustrating
  10. Did they cancel your original cruise that gave you the cruise credit? Then yes you get a refund If you yourself canceled the cruise under cruise with confidence and received a FCC then no you do not get a refund
  11. No my travel agent said since they canceled it we were entitled to a refund. They even refunded the 125% cruise planner items (just 100% obviously )
  12. I used a FCC from a may canceled cruise and booked for October. I asked for a refund now since they canceled and I'm getting everything back
  13. Well my travel agent got me a refund on both the FCC and my 125% cruise planner credit since royal canceled my cruise. So it's possible
  14. So I opted for a FCC from my canceled may cruise and the 125% cruise planner credit. I know I can get a refund in the FCC but do a get a full monetary refund on the 125% cruise planner credit (minus the 25% obviously)
  15. You cannot . You have to choose either just the FCC or FCC and cruise planner 125% credit. You cannot get a refund and choose the cruise planner credits
  16. Canceled may cruise we opted for the FCC and 125% cruise planner credit. Rebooked for October I'm going to fight like hell for a refund for both. If seen some be successful with getting the FCC refunded. I will not be traveling in 2021 due to us wanting to start a family. Since I won't know when we will be pregnant I can't book a cruise. I think it's unfair for them to not consider a refund when they can't even give a concrete re sale date. Worse case scenario I'll wait till the last possible time in 2022 to cruise . I really hope they extend out date to book by. December 2021 just isn't enough time for my situation. I never ever thought we wouldn't be cruising by October. Now Bahamas is closed to the USA so I'm sure Coco cay is out now too.
  17. Even if I used a FCC for my booking?
  18. I'm with you. I hope my job lifts my 14 day quarantine too but not holding my breathe. Already told my manager I'm going if they sale and not to expect me back for 3 weeks I have the Vaca time since literally every one of my other plans got squashed Cruiseliners will not survive going 8+ months without revenue. Expect to see ships being sold and iteniaries canceled if they cancel the rest of 2020.
  19. So my TA called royal today and they said if royal cancels the cruise then I am eligible for a 100% refund.....literally everything you guys have said is opposite that. I'm so lost ?
  20. NYC is looking great compared to Florida right now...oh how the tables have turned
  21. I'm 50/50 with October happening just got an email today saying I'll have to quarantine for 14 days after international travel so now looks like I'll be taking 3 weeks of vaca off at one time
  22. I'm with you wish they wait till end of July and see what the CDC says and what the world looks like then. I know Florida seems to jsut be peaking now so I wouldn't be shocked if fall cruising is the start. My cruise is October 26 and I just pray it will happen
  23. Geeze that's still confusing. Well guess all I can hope for is that they extend the date to 2022 bc we will be screwed next year
