We've been there once during a land vacation, once during a port stop. It's a good, not amazing, beach and I'd do it again on a summer cruise. (Our cruise stop was in March and it was too cold to be enjoyable). Chairs/umbrellas are easy to rent and affordable and Ron Jon's is almost a stop in itself.

I rarely post but as I am on an upcoming Ovation cruise, I wanted to weigh in. We have only sailed Star since the restart. Our first cruise was lackluster at best. Nothing comparable to a pre-covid Star (which we have also sailed) experience. We are a family of 3, not very needy in the request to Genie experience. What we dealt with was lost bags, poor service and slow wait times. Things everyone deals with.  We don’t care about the opinion of folks that sail every week and defend RCL due to Covid. Bottom line up front…we don’t all sail every week. We save thousands, spend thousands to give our families an amazing experience. It is RCLs responsibility to provide customer satisfaction. I do not need to understand I dang thing about their bottom line. They fail…someone will buy their ships and I will still sail. They are a business. I will support the best value for my dollar. Having been disappointed in Star, I can only imagine the disappointment for folks that dont have genies. For all you defenders of this company, You need to look at what keeps the ship afloat. Customer Satisfaction. I am tired of old timers telling me I should lower expectations for the company. They have ended many Covid related programs that protect me. Not to mention, FCC is expiring and Royal spent many months taking those 90 day deposits in the outset. Defend as you will, I am Diamond Plus and ticked. Not about brand loyalty but burned up about old timers telling new folks to expect less. They shouldn’t. Food for thought, my upcoming Ovation cruise will cost 51 per night. Doesnt sound like much until you divide it by 365. That is right. My upcoming cruise, without added excursions, cost 51 per night for an entire year. You are damned right I expect a Royal experience. Us whales keep the fleet afloat.

Sure, and that kind of flexibility is something we can afford, too. But 3-4 hours for a dinner service? Whole mornings spent in lines to disembark at port? And not to mention things like Adventure Ocean and the North Star being closed. The sum total approaches unacceptability really quickly.
And sure... I'm willing to acknowledge that a COVID outbreak can change the way things are onboard quickly. I think it's reasonable to expect Royal to react in a way that also protects the guest experience... Perhaps by, at a minimum, allowing no new bookings on the ship experiencing a staff shortage?

RC ramping up capacity beyond staffing is unacceptable. We’ve got four sailings booked and if our Ovation sailing is similar to our Navigator trip, we might have to cancel until the product matches the price.

Right. A lot of comments don’t seem to address those of us who aren’t made of money. I can’t just be like “oh well,” next cruise. My household income is pretty decent, but we can’t be throwing around $15k every month on a vacation.
I just want input from anyone who has reliable information. No excuses. No conjecture. I think our concerns are reasonable.

You can usually cancel those up to a certain time and get your money back I believe......

It wouldn't be the weather to be concerned about......it would be Covid at this point as to whether or not you make it Nassau on a cruise in Feb!

Curious when you experienced a suites only perk on CocoCay.  I've not experienced that on CocoCay, only at Labadee.   The lack of a suite perk was disappointing for many so I'm trying to determine if this is a recent development at CocoCay or something from a while ago.
    Thanks.

I don't have a problem wearing a mask. I wear one everywhere else- why would it stop me from going on vacation? As Lovetocruise and others have mentioned, the biggest issue remains port closures and quarantines.

I would rather wear a mask and get to go on vacation than stay at home!  If wearing a mask helps keep others safe, then it's a small price to pay - and it won't change the view of the sunset at sea!

We scored a $49 price ($10 better than the previous sale price from several months ago) on the Coco Beach Club experience for the first half of our B2B Symphony sailing out 9/18. Interestingly enough, the price of 2nd leg Beach Club only went down to $89 (we had already picked up a good deal a few months prior at $79) after it had been priced at $169 for a good while.
Other than saving $4 each on a wine/cheese package and a champagne/strawberries package, we didn't find any additional discounts applicable to our B2B.

The short answer is that you're probably going to be okay with temperature checks. A hot flash doesn't really raise your temperature, it's hormones messing with your body thermostat.

I take hormone shots for prostrate cancer after surgery and radiation, hot flashes suck. I knew they were a pain in the ass for my wife, but now I fully understand. I think you can get through a health check, I went through them going to hospital for some routine tests. I am not going to stress about it, just want to get back aboard.

This is true. I once thought I was in the throes of a corona crisis and checked my temp - it was 97.2.  I was in major hot flash territory!
