  3. If it’s showing on your account now you can use it for cruise planner (pre cruise) purchases or wait til you board and it’s available to use towards your onboard purchases. if it’s not on your account now it will be only in your onboard account and can be used while onboard
  4. Had this on my last cruise. As a solo who can’t have someone babysit a seat for me I usually fill my Yeti and place it down along with my silverware and forage for the 3 things I eat. This one cruise I grabbed food first…what was I thinking? Placed the food at a high top shared table and put down my silverware. Unfortunately the coffee dispenser near my seat was empty so I had to cross the dining room to the other side to fill my Yeti. By the time I returned my food plate was pushed away and a father/ daughter were seated there. He asked if he should move….boy did I want to say yes but who kicks out an 8 year old?! Then he proceeds to point out an empty chair at a table for 4 that had 2 people seated. I walked elsewhere, placed my yeti and silverware and got fresh food. I wonder what he told the kid when they sat down?
  5. Was present, first in line, for a show. Got the front row center seats I wanted, along with a friend and their spouse and the rest of the front row filled. Once seated spouses went to use the bathroom or get drinks. I knew to throw a sweater over the seat back of my husbands seat so those entering would know the seat was taken. I told my friend to hold a cruise planner over her husbands seat back. 10 minutes before the show a woman comes through the front row demanding the seats because they are vacant and “you can’t hold seats”. We all held our ground and she moved on. The theater was PACKED, last I saw she was heading to the back, still carrying on about any vacant seat. Well we had stood in line over an hour for seats! She shows up 20 minutes prior and thinks she’s getting front row?! anyhow, loved my seats for We Will Rock You. I’m going to miss Anthem but I have 3 more sailings on her, God willing, before she leaves Bayonne for good. You’ll find me in the front row of WWRY.
  6. I love CoCocay. Way more palm trees than Junkanoo beach in Nassau. How long ago were you in CoCocay?
  7. If you provide the area you are coming from there may be a bus service to the port. I’ve read about people taking a bus from Albany and others somewhere in PA.
  8. A connecting cabin for you and hubby-it will have an interior door that you can keep open. That gives you 2 bathrooms and privacy plus a place to chill if the kids are napping., no need for a fold out couch and you’d have a spot for a playpen or portable crib (not sure what the ship offers for the 1 yr old.) and a place to park a stroller! Additionally if it’s 1 adult/1child in a cabin only 1 adult would have to buy an alcohol package if that’s something you were thinking of-otherwise 2 adults in a cabin means 2 alcohol packages-unless you make a call to Royal to book and give a reason why the 2nd person doesn’t drink-and then they have to buy the refreshment package if one buys the alcohol package. If you have connecting promenade interiors (they are offered in other categories too) you also get a window seat and a view! I never did a balcony with my kids (sailed with them age 9 and up….afraid of something going over). These interior promenades are midship so reduced motion -book closer to the aft elevator -less traipsing the kids up to the windjammer or the dining room than if you book forward. . Your in-laws might appreciate a promenade interior-if not regular interiors could be just down the hall. On some sailings the promenade interior is about a $40 per person upgrade or a bit more/less based on availability and ship. Your mother could book a balcony across from the promenade. while it might seem a good idea to book one of your kids with your mother to save $ if your mother cancels for some reason you are “short a spot” for that kid. Your cabin would likely hold 3if you only book 3 into it, same for your in-laws so to bring the 2nd child back could possibly mean repricing for a cabin that holds more. (Though with a 1 year old they MAY be able to waive the need for a cabin that holds 4-or so I’ve read. ) if $ is a concern you could book a cabin that holds 4-potentially book when kids sail free….but it’s 1 bathroom. You might find some larger interior or promenade-they are very rare. When looking at various ships check the sizes of cabins if considering a single cabin.
  9. Open the app CLick on your "person" on the upper right Click on Select a different crise in the middle scroll and click on the blue after the "Dont' see your cruise" "lets add it now" Scroll and then click on "browse our ships" CLick on wonder of the seas CLick on the current sailing That sailing is populated with all of their activities/events. Ours will not be fully populated and accurate until our day of sailing. The reason you look at the current sailing is your sailing is likely not fully populated yet.
  10. when I’ve booked with my kids I had to have them directly across the hall or adjacent to my cabin, that is the policy for under 21. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/international-age-policy? That can make it a challenge to find a cabin for 2 people across or adjacent to a cabin of 4….you can do some mock bookings online to see availability for what you need. We sailed on Adventure of the seas and I had my balcony cabin and did 2 promenade cabins across the hall with 2 kids in each cabin. As for activities…the 17 year olds won’t be able to get into some clubs after a certain time on some ships. 17 year olds also have a 1am curfew. Obviously the 18 year olds can’t go to the teens center for 17 and under. There are plenty of activities onboard that you can do together. BTW, taking unrelated minors -the 17yo, will require forms from their parent/guardian. Perhaps someone here can link them.
  11. I’m n that sailing and they contacted my TA saying I owed $183… my cruise had been paid in full with no balance. Then 2 hours later….after he’d gone over my bill with them for 2 hours and he paid what they said I owed (well my credit card on file) they contacted him and said I owed more. I emailed bayleys office, they contacted me jjust before Christmas, apologized, and said they’d look further into it. The woman was going on vacation. I hope she enjoyed it because this is a cluster____I hope they figure out. She did say they’ll decorate my daughter’s cabin and have a cake-it’s her 21st birthday and hers is the cabin being threatened! I thought that was nice. Still want my refund!
  12. only one more cruise, needing only 1 point, until I reach Pinnacle. this changes after my January cruise!
  13. One time I had asked for a table change and she told me to go to my first table the first night and they would put a card at my door for my new talbe. Thankfully I knew to check the app and saw my table change, so went to my new table on night 1. Always check the app if you make any requests while onboard. (well even when you board to ensure it is correct)
  14. I think most people do not think of having an emergency. I think most are also unaware that insurance companies do not typically pay for hospital bills outisde the country and that the hospitals expect payment up front, with the insurance company doing a reimbursement later, so even if insured-like these peole were-it did not help them in the actual emergency and even if they had insurance I question how quickly the insurer would have stepped in and if the hosptial would have accepted an insurance company "I'll pay soon".....
  15. Sorry to hear this,it can be an issue when you book lcoser to saiing-even 6 months out! WIth that said, you cannot always rely on what dining time you are given. I've had a few saiings where they changed me to My time-from early seating-without notice. I ususally check the app and go to the Main Dining room when I board to ensure I have what I wanted (shared table/early seating). My husband caughtt the My time dining change inthe app on the 2 cruises I failed to check! Additionally, I've requested linked cruises be placed at the same dining/table and that was not done on a few sailings. Fortunately we were able to get that straightened out as well. My TA informed me 2 weeks ago that one of my 3 reservations had a dining time changed to My time-WHAT??? So he had to get that cabin on the waitlist for early dining. I was just informed that the 3rd cabin is now back on early seating. (February cruise booked in March of '23!!) I share this because in addition to being on the wait list, even if you get moved you should check the app -to see what time they gave you, just in case you mysteriously get changed by the time you board the ship.
  16. I have purchased flights with an airline and paid for bags, but then it does not show as paid, and tells me to "add a bag". When I add a bag when doing check in it shows as a zero cost. Perhaps it will do that for you as well. I am not famiiliar with Westjet but did a quick google search and see where it says first bag fee included for EconoFlex, Premium and business fares as well as Silver, Gold and Platinum rewards members. Flight to Asia also have a bag included for Econo and Member exclusive fares
  17. Interesting. I am flying home from Vancouver to the US and had no problems booking my flight, on my own. Did you try and do a booking on your own, all the way to the shopping cart? maybe cal another travel agent and inquire, or an airline, or maybe call Air2Sea which is Royals travel agent....and inquire about booking a one way flight 1-844-278-9745. I HAVE booked one way from Barcelona to the US as well as one way from the US to London and I do get a pop up that states I MAY need to show proof of return, if needed. Your cruise ticket would be proof as to how you got into that country and it's highly likely that no one will ask for it. Additionally your passport will be recorded with the ship so the authorities can see how you arrived in their country.
  18. You all show up at the same time. If they (security/port staff) try to turn you away explain the situation and see if they’ll make the exception.
  19. The experience will vary by ship and those traveling. i was just on Anthem last month and the solo meet up was at 5pm-disappointing as that was early seating time. After 2 days in the main dining room with one particular table mate who was not at all personable I decided to go to the 5pm meet up and dine in the windjammer later. I’m glad I did. I met some wonderful people and enjoyed 5pm “wineo’clock”. It was a mix of a few guys and a few gals. I’ve been on ships where the meet up was in the Schoonerbar at 7pm (Jewel of the seas) there was no way to tell who was solo. I’ve found a great way to meet other solos is to run a meet and greet of your own on day 1 of the sailing. You can arrange that if there is a Facebook group for your sailing and set up an event. You could also ask for a shared table at dinner and you might hit it off with a table mate. When I’ve done shared tables I at least have friendly faces every night. (The exception being the one man on Anthem)
  20. Price a cruise without checking those boxes, then price it with and you might see a discount on the cruise. It will not work for all sailings.
  21. If you cannot see your cruise use the "link a missing cruise" feature in the app or on the website. If it does not allow you too I recommend you contact Royal Caribbean and have them fix this issue-even have them verify you are booked!
  22. no specials worth noting on any of the 14 cruises I have booked. All prices are higher than the BF sales too.
  23. Royal resolutions contacted my TA to say that they inadvertently gave me a refund from a paid cruise fare which puts the cruise in jeopardy of being cancelled as we are past final payment date. They took the $ now from my credit card on file. Meanwhile of my 18 purchases and 10 cancellations none of them match the $ amount they are discussing. My daughter's reservation is the one in jeopardy and she did not have any purchaes for hideaway beach on her reservation----resolutions is claiming it is a hideaway beach purchase that was part of their error. My spreadsheet now has a sub spreadsheet for just the cruises they are referring to. This is part of the BF debacle. Lesson learned to not make purchases on day 1 of their sale.
  24. Not to scare you, but..... I have a February cruise, paid in full via my ttravel agent. He just received a letter from RC stating I have an outstanding balance. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them going over charges that are all Black Friday related. It is extremely unfortunate as I was the one who did all purchases/returns/purchases....I had a total of 18 purchases and 10 returns spread across a number of cruises. I feel my privacy was violated with them going over ALL of my purchase/return history-which included many cruises that are NOT booked with this travel agent. I spent another 4 hours on my purchase history, credit card statements and my email confirmation/cancellations for all transactions to reconcile the things I could not figure out. Royal broke transactions into 6 seperate returns for what was one credit card charge. Things like this happened numerous times and I had to play detective to find the postings on my statement. Anyhow, I have it all figured out-there were a number of things that had used OBC so I thought Royal owed ME money!! but I have now reconciled every single purchase as well as cancellation with them. I do not owe a penny, nor am I owed a penny. They currently charged me $183 and change-via my travel agent and then called him back last night to ask for more $. Understand that if they think you owe $ they will cancel your cruise if it is not paid in full-according to THEIR paid in full standards. So everything might seem ok but if they can figure out an issue (or invent one) it may just bite you in the.... I have an email into Michael Bayley's office about my situation. I've also asked my travel agent to bring me into a 3 way call if resolutions calls again. He shouldn't be privvy to every single line item with Royal on cruise planner purchases for cruises he does not hold the booking for. I also want a guarantee tha tthe 4 cabins I have booked for my daughter's 21st birthday celebration are not cancelled. The irony of this is they are saying the issue is regarding hideaway beach. purchases and returns. My purchases and returns for hideaway were done under MY reservation. My daughter's reservation only dealt with Internet and beverage packages. Resolutions says that they somehow charged a purchase to the balance of my sailing, just yesterday issued a refund (not anywhere on my credit card statement) and then had the TA charge me via my card on file. I figure worst ase scenario is I do a dispute with my credit card company, but I would have to wait til the cruise ends in March-I want to be sure I get onboard that ship!
