  1. Yes, RC has the right to move you per the contract. My advise would be to call back and get a different agent who might be able to help. Before complaining, ask as nicely as possible to be placed near again. This happened to me on a February sailing when my family of 5 in connecting balcony rooms were moved to opposite ends of the ship 2 weeks before sailing. My travel agent's first 3 hour call to RC left us with a "there's nothing we can do" response. Later, when her supervisor called back and got another agent, RC righted the matter and found us connecting balcony rooms in a different location. Sometimes it's about who you speak to and how polite/persuasive you can be. We wound up having a wonderful cruise.
  2. We just sailed on Anthem and also recieved $50 of credit per room from Costco. It was just added to our room account as a credit and applied to reduce the overall daily gratuity charges. Any extras we bought in advance in cruise planner at whatever discount was offered there.
  3. We were just on Anthem with a port of call in Cape Canaveral and all of our shore excursions were cancelled except for a pontoon tour and shuttle to the Ron Jon shop which both sold out. This was a huge disappoint to our space loving 8 yo who wanted to see the Kennedy Space Center. I believe the issue is timing. We didn't dock until 3 and weren't cleared to leave the ship till 3:30. At that point there is no time to go anywhere before they close (KSC closed at 5 the day we went). We thought, ok, maybe we could grab an Uber into town and least see the beach and play mini golf, but getting an uber at the pier with 600 other straded guests was impossible. We waited almost an hour in a huge line to get a non RC shuttle to Cocoa Beach, and it was, IMO, a complete waste of time and money. My two cents is that if they know they can't get passengers off the ship till almost 4, maybe they should make Port Canaveral an overnight stop so people can actually do something during the next day, but I know this doesn't work for their scheduling. Good luck to you! I wish I could offer more advice, but this stop was a huge disappointment an otherwise lovely cruise.
  4. We just did the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon with my eight-year old last week. It was a very well-run operation and we enjoyed time with "our" dolphin with rub downs, hugs and photo ops. We did not do the swim, but I found the Blue Lagoon facility to be lovely, the people working there very helpful and, as a bonus, we got to play in the lagoon swimming and snorkeling before returning to the ship. The only caveat is there are a lot of people on animal interactions, so you won't be alone with the dolphins. If you want to go outside of RC's shore excursions, I believe Atlantis is also running them for private groups, so you may get a quieter, more intimate experience.
  5. Hello! I am new to this site, but I have been on the phone now (more than 3 hours) with my travel agent and Royal with a very similar issue. I booked connecting rooms for a sailing in 2 weeks (me, husband and 3 young children). They were booked in 2019 and lifted and shifted till now. I was never notified that my rooms changed, but as I checked in online, I noticed that our room assignments are no-where near each other. I would not have booked this trip without connecting rooms. This is a family vacation, and I would like to be with my family. Royal is saying there is nothing they can do for me for this sailing as it is covid protocols. Honestly, this is outrageous to me. With a ship that isn't even at capacity, how could they break up a family with booked connecting rooms and not give too hoots about it. This is my first time cruising with RC, and honestly, between this and the canceling of the Kennedy Space Center excursion, it might be my last (if we even go through with it). I am considering cancelling all together. What a HUGE disappointment!
  6. Hello Everone, We will be taking our first cruise in Feb of 2021 on Anthem with a one day stop in Coco Cay. My husband, myself and three young children are all pretty sun sensitive and enjoy our time in the shade (with some time in the sun of course, just not the whole day). Can anyone tell me if there are places out of the sun on the island? I am thinking about renting a day bed for this reason, but because there are 5 of us, I would have to rent 2 (at $199 each) and I'm not sure it's worth it because my little ones we will likely want to play in the sand away from the beds anyway. Cabanas are $999 or more and not worth it for me. I know there will be two ships there that day, so I don't know how easy it will be to find umbrellas either. Dose anyone have any thoughts of suggestions?
