  1. I also use the metal straws. Ordered mine off Amazon (of course) and it came with the pipe cleaner. Pack it all and we love it - especially with the drink package fits like a glove and happy to wash it every night. At home we have the colored ones so that everyone knows what straw is theirs. Saves a little of the back and forth, you know, that mine not yours.
  2. I would love some recommendations too. I will be on this cruise in December. Wanting to know if we need to book anything for the island or is it ok to just to go to the beach that day. Wanted to spend $ in other locations. Also curious about the crafters that are there...heard that they only take cash. Just wanted to know if it was worth taking $ to the island...or just visit the beach and food huts!
  3. interesting in seeing what you think about NOT purchasing anything but just staying on the beach. My husband is a red headed guy and burns easily. I would hate to pay for the adventure and he not be interested in staying out all day. Have a great time.
  4. Love seeing the pics! My son and his wife live in FL and they visit Disney all the time (they have no kids), but they go anyway. I looking forward to reading about your trip. I will be on Harmony in December! My son said gamble on the first part of the trip but never the return trip. Can't wait to hear (read) your tips! Have a safe trip!
  5. We also used Groupons to book an excursion in Portland....the duck boat...lot cheaper than going through the cruise line. Don't forget to have an Uber account so that you an Uber anywhere.
  6. SpeedNoodle I agree - My third cruise will be at Christmas...I check at leave every other day for prices on the cruise and the extras. I have rebooked twice already for a lower price! Word is book and you can always cancel and rebook at the lower price.
  7. Here is a picture of the market! Another do not miss.
  8. Forgot to note that in St. James we walked all day in the city! It was fantastic. Played the Canada lottery and won $. Ask about the "Market" place it was fantastic place to wonder. We bought local foods there and were able to bring it back to the ship. The potato chips with ketchup were the best ever. Always try the local food specials everything was great! The market has lots of craft and things to buy...if you want something don't pass it up. I found a wool cape and thought at the time it was too expensive at $135 (America) but now - I keep thinking about it and yes it was made by a local crafter. Crazy to pass it up.
  9. You must go to Peggy's Cove!! It was a must see we did through and excursion. If you can do it first thing upon arrival that would be better. That will allow you more time upon your return to visit the shops next to the port. Our excursion was the last one of the day and we did not get a lot of time at Peggy's Cove to walk to the carved wall. Take a camera and enjoy. The other thing to look at is the rock formations which are off to the left as you look at the lighthouse.
