Eaglelover got a reaction from MaryS in Celebrity discount (50%) Premium Drink package
For anyone booked on a Celebrity Cruise (at least the 2 that I have coming up for sure, but it appears to be across the board), there is a huge sale on the Premium Drink package (50%) for the weekend. No corresponding upgrade discounts.  It doesn't appear that other areas have much discount.

no experience but I would do a mock booking of your sailing to see how many empty Celebrity Suites there are before I get my hopes up.

I will be on Celebrity Summit on August 2, 2020 for my long-hoped-for and dreamed-of 50th birthday celebration trip. It's a 14-night transatlantic voyage (8 port days, 6 sea days) going to Nova Scotia, Greenland, and Iceland before ending in Dublin. It will encompass a number of firsts:
First time on Celebrity First transatlantic cruise First time in Iceland (bucket list item!!) First time NS, Greenland, or Ireland (not bucket list, but way cool) Really looking forward to this, especially as Summit will only be a year post-refurbishment; not exactly "new ship smell", but exciting to think about! And we may stay a few extra days in Ireland, as none of us have ever been there and my wife has cousins there who she hasn't seen since the last time they came to the US; but we'll figure that part out down the road.
We've got... 575 days(!!!) until boarding day. A new personal record!
It will be another six days before I actually have it booked (waiting for my card to cycle), but given that my whole family is on board and I have the cabin selection figured out, I'm fine with saying it now. And if you can't start the countdown until it's booked, it'll still be a record at 569 days.

Celebrity Infinity, 15 night Panama Canal. Really looking forward to it. This is our first Celebrity experience.
Infinity appears to be about the size of Radiance Class. True? How are these ships?
We like Radiance class on Royal.

Yes, email her right away so she can book it for you.
There's no penalty for no-showing to a specialty restaurant, but you should do the courteous thing for everyone else and call the restaurant when you know you aren't going to free up the table.

I don’t agree with this recommendation.
Until something changes, the abbots test is the only at home test accepted by Royal Caribbean.

I can say that while I'm on neither stroller or scooter and never outside when tipsy...I have been guilty of casually strolling around the pool deck walking track...in the jog lane...going the wrong direction simply because I'm trying to get from aft to forward. Did this pretty much EVERY time on Odyssey and I was very grateful again to the reduced capacity because otherwise I think I would have been serious hindrance.
Looking forward to the lower walking track. I usually never intentionally take a walk around but it could be more tempting/satisfying in the shade of the lower deck, not having to dodge swimmers and kids.

Also consider that on the smaller ships with track on pool deck, you will experience wind resistance while sailing.  I actually enjoy this.  I find that walking against the wind, rather than jogging, allows a calorie burn with fewer collision risks.  On Oasis class the track is sheltered for the most part, so walking/jogging is a different experience.  There are also many doors to watch (some crew/cargo doors), especially when passing someone.  What others have said about using the gym makes sense on the larger ships.

If you can time it right, walking is generally not problematic and would certainly be more pleasurable outside than on the treadmill. If you don't fancy going first thing in the morning, a good time is around when early dinner starts as the early diners are all eating and most of the later ones are getting ready for the evening.

Yep, and very little outside interference.  It bothers me when people who aren't doing any serious exercising just get on the track to sightsee.  People, you can sightsee from many other decks.  In fact, you'll get a better view from higher decks.
You don't want to get started on those that move the deck chairs around and put them in the middle of the walkway without any sense of common decency and situational awareness.  AMAZING!

Allure of the Seas has one of the best tracks, on any ship I have been on - it is below the aqua deck and runs basically around the complete ship.  Deck 4 (I think or deck five)

Unless able to run early in the day, treadmills are better than track.

Right, any real distance will be frustrating. I try to split my runs between the track and treadmill to avoid losing my mind.

There is no standard and they are a shared space where you will also find strollers and scooters and drunkards depending on the time of day.  Each class of ship is different.  With the exception of Oasis class the jogging tracks are on the upper decks one level above the pool deck.  Generally speaking the crew remove loungers and stack them out of the way overnight but they begin to deploy the loungers around the jogging track during the day.
In places it can be tight.  Your best running experience will be early in the morning.  By mid day they will be crowded and it will difficult and frustrating to try to get a run in.

In addition to being tiny, you'll be constantly dodging folks who are wandering around, often aimlessly, not to mention loungers as people move them around to catch the sunshine. Plus, the short distance around and the tight bends can be a recipe for injury, especially to knees and hips.
If you only want to a little walking or jogging they're fine but if you want to do any sort of serious training, use the treadmills in the gym instead.

Walking/jogging tracks are not standard across the fleet and are based on the size of the ship.  A mile on an Oasis class ship will take approx. 2 laps.  On Radiance, you will need just over 6 laps to equal a mile.  Hope that helps.

I saw cigar smokers on the promenade deck port side and behind Boleros aft on the port side.  On most ships any outdoor smoking area allows cigars.  Casino's don't allow cigars but Empress casino is smoke free so that's a moot point.

I have not been on Empress myself, but most RC ships allow smoking on the upper decks. The link below is the smoking policy and should be able to help more than I can. My last cruise was on Navigator and there were people smoking on the top deck.
