  1. Thanks! That didn't sound correct. Our last cruise was prior to the suite deposit amout change. So, I didn't know if that made a difference or if there was some kind of new consumer protection law. Thanks again!
  2. My mom got a quote on a CL today directly from Royal. The agent said that you had 20 days to have your deposit refunded (if you change your mind) before it becomes nonrefundable. Is this true? I have never heard of this policy. Thanks so much for your help!!
  3. Is there a current pre-cruise discount on the Cruise Planner for the Soda Package? I found the $12.99/day ful price listed in a Google search. But I don't have a booking yet and am considering my options. Thank you for your help.
  4. I have no advice but I feel bad for you. Sometimes life stinks.
  5. Thank your for the thread!! Very excited as it is my first CLS!! July 9 Allure!!!
  6. @Matt Just now reading this post! Congratulations!! Thank you for creating a welcoming format for people to learn about cruising, Royal, or just chat with fellow Royal enthusiasts! We appreciate you!!
  7. I always buy the package ahead of time. I've showed the wait staff my SeaPass card in the MDR and was never charged for soda. IIRC there is a code on the card showing you have the soda package. I have had the word "soda" or something like that in the past written out on the card, too. The later may have been another crusise line.
  8. Yes, I am looking forward to staying in the Crown Loft Suite. I have waited for this day since they were introduced on the Oasis! The "kids" are not coming along with Mom and me this time. I am usually a cheapskate and we share one device. We just log in and out.
  9. Thank you to everyone for all the tips and reminders! I should know this stuff. I am going to do some screenshots and copy the link to the thread for next time. I get nervous and I have a memory lapse. I appreciate you guys!!
  10. Would a patient and kind person please confirm? I should know this information as I have cruised before and have researched. But for some reason, I get pre-cruise anxiety and need to be sure I remember correctly. Mom and I are traveling together in a CLS and will each have the internet package. 1. Put phone in airplane mode and leave it there (Caribbean Ports). 2. I can use iMessage to text iPhone users on the cruise with me and those back in the states. I can send regular texts to my android son at home. **3. I can use WiFi calling (it is always enabled on my phone) should a special need arise. I can call my android son using WiFi calling. 4. FaceTime audio should work as well for iPhone users back home. Thank you for indulging me. With the passing of my Dad and DH, I feel that extra responsibility on my shoulders. Mom will be cruising with me and my college age kids will be in the states.
  11. Well, first I received them with my daughter's name. A call to C&A changed it. Now, they have my son's name. My name comes first in the alphabet.
  12. Thank you for this information. I was wondering how early to arrive.
  13. Thank you! I saw cones blocking an entrance in one of the videos I saw, but wasn't sure which entrance it was. Travel day makes me nervous. I try to be as prepared as I can.
  14. We have reservations to park at the covered North Lot in Galveston. I have watched videos and read articles about parking, but am not sure where I am able to enter the lot. We are not planning to drop off the luggage prior to parking. We do have a CL suite booked, so that may affect our luggage dropping plan. Do we enter the lot from Royal Caribbean Way or Royal Caribbean Circle? If we have to enter from Royal Caribbean Way, do we have to follow the road all the way around the drop off/pick up area or are we allowed to turn left into the lot priro to reaching the Pickup/Drop off area? Any advice about where the suite luggage drop off is located (if it really exisits)? Thanks for the help!
  15. I saw it last summer and am looking forward to seeing it again in July. It is a great show.
  16. We have a CLS in July. How would you know if your room was ready early? Not expecting it at all, just wondering.
  17. Hello friendly cruisers! During opening hours, are you able to order from the MDR menu for in-suite dining if staying in a Crown Loft suite, specifically Allure of the Seas? Elizbeth Wright's post says you are not able to do this when booked in Oasis Sky Class. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/04/19/royal-caribbean-grand-suite-perks I was under the impression that it was a perk. Also, is room service complimentary (I would tip, of course)? Thanks for your help!
  18. I blame everyone here for my new suite life obesseion. Last June, we enjoyed a grand suite on our Alaskan Ovation cruise. Like GatorCruiser, we really enjoyed the suite lounge. In July, we were in a balcony on a cruise to the ABC islands. It was fun, but I sure missed the suite life. So, this June we are trying out a crown loft suite. OP I hope you enjoy your junior suite! After the Costal Kitchen, you may be ready for the next step.
  19. This is what I would do, too. Allow plenty of time to get to the airport on Monday. My kids loved Space Center Houston when they were young. I haven't cruised near as much as some on the board. I have never arrived late on disembarkation day. But I don't like to chance it - way too stressful. Even in FLL where you could see the ship from the airport because it was so close, I did not want to chance it. The flights were early or 6 pm. We took an excursion to see the aligators and got to the airport so early that we could not even check in. But I would do it all over again not to have the stress of missing our flight.
  20. My son used it last June. My daughter and I were TSA Pre-Check and my son does not have it. We did beat him through security, but he was not far behind. We signed him up prior to our arrival at the airport while on the ship, but I don't remember how early.
  21. In July of 2019, our Harmony cruise skipped the port of San Juan due to the riots at the time. It was a last minute change. For various reasons, we just had another sea day instead of a different port. I was sad to miss the port for personal reasons, but better safe than sorry. After living on the island of St. Croix many years ago, I know that tourists are not always aware of certain issues or spots to avoid. The same could be said for most anywhere, really. There is no place 100% safe. But I think cruise lines are aware of heightened security issues and try to act accordingly.
  22. No, this would absolutely not be cheating.
  23. We were on Ovation in June and had a great time. I can't wait to go back to Alaska. I hope you have a fantastic cruise.
  24. I wish you the best outcome possible and Godspeed in the months ahead. I hope this trip is your best yet, with many more wonderful trips in the future.
