Mrs. Thomas got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Room Swapping
For our sailing next year we put the kiddos in their own room. However, when booking I divided them up because I was afraid it wouldn't be allowed due to ages. Our daughter will be 15 and our son 12 when we sail. We don't have a connecting rooms they are just next to each other. The "boys room" has a on board credit that I would like to use part of for my drink package as well as my husbands. Will RC let me switch the kids around into a room of their own and let my husband and I be in one on paper? This way I can use the credit for both of our drink packages. (soda and refreshments) TIA

Mrs. Thomas reacted to bryanjanettesmith in Escape room and laser tag help
Forst time saling with royal. We sail on wonder of the seas Oct 22nd, we are past the check in date.
The app hasn't ever (and still doesn't) show the escape room reservations. However, I just happened to log into my account from my desktop, just kind of scrolling around, and weirdly the escape room sign up was there. I then double checked the app, and its still not on the app. Sadly, the escape room on desktop says sold out. Is there a possibility more will open up as we get closer to cruising? Will it ever appear on the app?
I have teen boys, they really wanted to do that.
Also, will the laser tag also have sign ups on the app? Or is it like the slides where you just go wait in line? Or is it a pre sign up? Does it open before we go? (I can't find it in the app) or is it available once we get on board? What about zipline? Or flowrider?
Thank you so much for everyone's help, I honestly searched for the answers but couldnt find any, im sorry if its stupid questions. You've all really helped us prepare for this trip, we are so excited!!

Your wife and I would get along great. LOL I love fru-fru drinks! I plan on getting the refreshments package on my next trip so I can have a virgin daiquiri or pina colada whenever I want. I'm a sucker for anything fruity.

My favorite hack -
If you enjoy the frosted coffee at Chick-Fil-A, it's fairly simple to recreate on board.
I head up to the Diamond lounge and get 2 shots of espresso. (I assume that those with a beverage/refreshment package would be able to get espresso from the bars with coffee or at the Promenade cafe.)
Ask for an empty beverage cup at the Windjammer and pour in the espresso. Then head to the soft serve machine and fill the cup with vanilla soft serve. Mix together and you'll have a delicious frosted coffee!! 😋

Typical fly by, never to be heard from again.
Btw on Symphony now as well as last week. Crew is marvelous and accommodating. Ship is in great shape. Wonderful and approachable Master, Capt Rick.
Things can happen, 2 cruises ago we had no cards on our door, grabbed the first officer I saw, he went to guest services for mehad my cards in under 15 minutes.

So just to clarify, you allowed a misunderstanding regarding some sea pass cards and a “rude” crew member named Miguel ruin a vacation on Symphony? Something stinks of band-aids and burnt hair with this story.

Every ship we've been on they supply climbing shoes. You actually take your shoes off, to put on theirs but you do need socks.

FINALLY!! I got the deposit down we can now make official plans. This is a Sweet 16 birthday trip for my daughter. Neither of my kiddos know yet. The youngest will find out when we pull up to the port. I've been waiting to get back on a RC ship since I got off the last one in 2013. I'm so excited!! Now let's start packing. 😂

Mrs. Thomas reacted to Kcusack89 in Just curious booking in advance
My family members SO is in this "no rush boat" and I said to them there truly is no rush I booked when I wanted they can book if they like or not it's up to them. But it would be nice if I save a few bucks with to long wait

Underrated, but crucial advice! And not just for cruising . . . 😉

This is exactly what my wife does when I’m looking to book! 😂🤣 She is always thinking that there are 50% off sales (true 50% off, not a Royal 50% off….not sure where this comes from)every few months so we just have to wait. I just go ahead and book anyways and then tell her down the road when the prices go up that we are going. It’s a strategy that has served me well.

Too bad we can't resell our current bookings and make a profit.

Mrs. Thomas got a reaction from The Fox in Food on All Ships Same?
We're the same. If we do eat out, it's cheap fast food that's average at best. We end up enjoying the food because it's different than our norm. Personally, I like not having to do the dishes. LOL

Mrs. Thomas got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Favorite Dessert
My last cruise was in 2013 (forever ago!). But there was a cookie at the Promenade Cafe that I loved, however I can't remember what it was. It had a toffee feel to it. I also really enjoyed the baked Alaska in the MD. I can't wait to go on my next cruise!

You would need to rent a wheelchair or scooter for him (pre cruise) if he can't walk long distances easily - as far as I know, RC wheelchairs are only for use on the ship. Prior to boarding, you can request wheelchair assistance to get him onto the ship, but they will just bring him to whatever deck boarding is on and leave him there. Scootaround and Special Needs at Sea are rental companies that will rent you scooter, manual wheelchair (I think) or electric wheelchairs, which are typically delivered to the stateroom.

Mrs. Thomas got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Just a fun observation....
I decided to look up St. Maarten on Google and look at it on the Google Earth map. A RC ship is docked and so is another ship, but I'm not sure which line. The RC ship makes the other look like a bath toy! It's too funny! I can't tell which RC ship it is, but I'm pretty sure it is an Oasis class due to the Aqua Theater. A quick question... My Dad walks on a cane, is there a better way than walking to get him from the pier to the port? TIA

Mrs. Thomas got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in It's my math somewhat right?
Is there anywhere that has the prices for the specialty restaurants listed? I'm trying to figure out if I want to take my daughter to one and if we can afford it on our SOS trip.

If you felt hungry on Allure, cruising on RC may not be for you.
