I have a cruise scheduled for June 2021 and decided to cancel the cabana. Does anyone know how long those refunds are taking? I'm hoping it's not as long as a cruise refund . Has anyone cancelled an excursion recently?

I used to buy top end luggage but I have found that it is easier to just buy middle-of-the-road, less expensive luggage and be prepared to toss it and re-buy more often. I still have some very expensive Travel Pro luggage with lifetime warranties but I found myself going to the "dealer" for repairs so often (mostly zipper and "pull" issues) that it became a nuisance. I have never purchased expensive hard side luggage but the hard sides that I have had in the past did not seem to hold as much as the soft sides. I used the hard sides for a while but have abandoned them for the old soft sides.
Do you have a good middle of the road brand that you recommend?

When going on a cruise, do you prefer hard or soft sided luggage and why? Any brands you love or hate? I need to buy some new luggage, so I'm trying to get all the opinions I can. I prefer to get something that will last a long time. Thanks!

Yes, that is correct.
Not anymore. I called RC to verify and my agent called after to confirm. You no longer have to put a deposit down until final payment date or May 31, whichever comes first.
That helped me out a ton!

Let me first say that FCC rules and policies are constantly changing and catered towards certain situations so what worked for one-person last month may not be the same for someone else; therefore expect to hear different answers. No matter what, any FCC can never be used towards OBC. Royal offered (in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of cancellation) 125% OBC for cruise planner purchases made for the cancelled sailings. In both of those instances, it had to be to accepted by a certain date or it would be automatically refunded back to you. I believe in your case, your deposits will be refunded back to you after your FCC has been applied to the sailing. Any amounts left over after that will be reissued as a new FCC but only after the sailing has been completed. I hope this clears up some of the confusion.
I realize rules are always changing. I was just clarifying about the deposit, not the OBC.

If you put down the deposit, then use FCC to pay the balance and it's more than that balance, you'll receive a new FCC for the remaining balance. It would not go on your account as OBC.
Example: New cruise is $2500, and you have $2000 FCC. You put down the $1000 deposit and use FCC to cover the balance. You would be issued a new FCC for $500 to be used towards a future cruise.
I don't know if you opted in or not, but you did have the ability on your canceled sailing to fill out a form and get 125% of your cruise planner purchases converted to OBC to be used on a future sailing. But that is totally different from your FCC.
I just called Royal to verify, and this isn't accurate. The remaining deposit amount would be refunded.

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused LOL

Your better off to wait till the actually issue the FCC then rebook. If you deposit
you will only get a credit for future cruise not an actual onboard credit so it can’t be used except to deposit on another cruise. My agent was able to call RCCL and
reserve my cabin on my new cruise and when we are emailed the FCC from RCCL she will complete the booking. It’s my understanding the will refund back taxes from original booking so taxes will have to be paid on the new booking. Hope this helps and if anyone with more knowledge has info I welcome that as well. The knowledge of this group has made unsettling times a bit better for me.
Are you saying that I won't get the full 125% FCC? My agent said that I had to put a deposit down on the new cruise before the FCC can be added.
-
Since my June sailing got cancelled, I'm going to put a new deposit down on an August sailing. The FCC will cover the cost of the new cruise, so my agent said we could request a refund of that deposit ($750). Instead of requesting a refund, can I use it in the cruise planner or as OBC?

How is cruising during Spring Break? I'm thinking about what I'll do if my June 2020 cruise is cancelled. I am considering Spring Break time (March 21 on a 7 day on Allure). Will I regret it?

Question. If Royal cancels the cruise, do they offer a refund instead of FCC?
We are set to sail June 7 on Oasis. Will happily go if it sails, just thinking ahead. The same cruise in 2021 is much more expensive at this point and is honestly the only time of year we can get the whole family together.I'm in the same boat (literally LOL). I really hope things are better by then. I have waited for so long for this!

I’ve never cruised before, but from what I’ve read, that is their rules and you can’t get around it.

I'm using Brock to help me with my first cruise and he has been awesome!

What was your winning bid? I have a large ocean view balcony and considered using RoyalUp to try to get a Jr. Suite on Oasis this summer.

Just get the passport book. Not even sure why you need the passport card since that is only good for land entry. If you fly or miss your ship, only the passport book will allow you entry.
The kids already have the passport card. Their dad got it for them, not me. They traveled (by car) to Canada a few years ago.

I have a 7 night Bahamian cruise on Oasis of the Seas booked for the beginning of June. While checking prices, I found a 9 night early June Canada/New England Cruise on Adventure of the Seas for about $550 cheaper. It will be me and my 2 kids (12 and 16). I know Adventure is a lot smaller than Oasis, but I'm torn, and keep going back and forth. Either itinerary would be ok with me. Part of me feels more comfortable that AoS ports are in the US and Canada, but another part of me would like to see Coco Cay. Then I think that the weather might be nice (milder) with the AoS cruise, but think we can experience more new things in the Bahamas. As you can see, I am indecisive. For one positive I come up with for one, I come up with one for the other. Same with negatives.
Has anyone been on both ships or done both itineraries? This will be our first ever cruise. I have a refundable deposit, so I won't loose any money to switch.
Please help!
