  1. We'll be trying the Voyager Class (Mariner) in June. My favorite class so far has been the Freedom class.
  2. Hello. My wife and kids will be on this sailing. Looking forward to going back to the Southern Caribbean. This will be our first time on Mariner.
  3. Ok thanks. That's what I assumed but I wanted to be sure. I didn't want to sacrifice the double points.
  4. We are currently booked in a Junior Suite in which you receive Double Crown and Anchor points. But when I researched the Royal Up program it says that you will NOT receive Double C&A points if your bid is accepted. So will I still receive the Double C&A points if I'm successful because I'm starting off in a JR. Suite? I'd rather have the Double points for that cruise because it's an 8 night itinerary. Thanks
  5. Thanks again everyone. We booked a 4 night cruise on Freedom at the end of October. Sailing to Coco Cay and Nassau, but it really doesn't matter where we go as long as we get on the ship! We're very excited.
  6. Thanks everyone. I'm feeling less worried about cruising in the fall. We're so overdue for a cruise it's ridiculous.
  7. Hi all. My family and I usually cruise in the springtime. I'm turning 50 this year in October and I want to go on a vacation and cruising is my favorite way to travel. But, I've never cruised in the Caribbean during Hurricane season. Any advice from the cruisers that travel during this time of year? Pro, Cons, anything else I should think of that would be different than cruising in the spring. Thanks!
  8. So I called on the 16th and spent an hour and a half on the phone. The RCI agent understood that it didn't make any sense for me to pay them final payment on the 18th only for them to extend the vax requirements and refund my money 3 days later. They made an exception and issued me a full refund. (We all knew they would be extending it) I should receive my refund in 30-45 days. Thanks for the help!
  9. Your cruise was for the end of this April and they gave you a refund?
  10. Thanks so much for taking the time to give me advice. I really appreciate it!
  11. The cruise I was trying to take was for April of 2021. I booked that cruise back in November of 2019.
  12. Thank you. I think this may be the only option to get a refund. I always booked Non Refundable trips myself by calling Royal. After all this BS I'll only book Refundable trips through a Travel Agent in the future. So, I can still get a cash refund after using a FCC? and having a Non Refundable cruise?
  13. Thank you for your response. You will not have a problem cancelling for APRIL 8th. Since our cruise is after the date that this policy is for- we are not eligible to cancel with refund. We have spent many hours with different customer service members, sent emails, FB messages, ect and we are not eligible based on the date of our cruise... We are at the mercy of the policy creators who list which date it extends to. SO frustrating.. I just submitted this issue on the forum as a separate topic called Refund rigmarole to see if anyone else has any insight or even are in the same boat (pun intended) as us. Thanks again.
  14. HI all, I am hoping someone will have some insight/advice/ect into my situation. My family and I are booked on a cruise for April 17th 2022. My 12 year old son is not vaccinated. We booked a non refundable deposit way back in 2019 and after several cancellations on ROYALS side due to COVID, we are now booked for this cruise an cannot go on it due to my sons vaccination status. I have found this "Royal Promise" document online (see link below) and the date only extends to APRIL 14th 2020. We are hoping that it gets extended so we can get a refund. We have been checking daily. Is there any other "COVID policies" that anyone could direct me to for my situation? We have about 1500 tied up in this cruise payment and we really want a refund. https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2021_2022/RTS_FAQs.pdf We are waiting to see if they extend this policy but we have a feeling it will not be extended until AFTER our final payment is due which is on MARCH 18th... Thanks in advance for any input on this.
  15. HI all, I am in a similar situation where my family and I are booked on a cruise for April 17th 2022. My 12 year old son is not vaccinated. We booked a non refundable deposit way back in 2019 and after several cancellations on ROYALS side due to COVID, we are now booked for this cruise an cannot go on it due to my sons vaccination status. I have found this "Royal Promise" document online and the date only extends to APRIL 14th 2020. We are hoping that it gets extended so we can get a refund. Is this the "covid Policy" you are referring to WAAATOOO? or is there another one out there? https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2021_2022/RTS_FAQs.pdf Thanks. We are very frustrated and are only looking for a refund so we can re-book in a year or 2.....
  16. Oh wow, what didn't you like about the GS on the Quantum Class? There is a itinerary I'm looking at on Anthem that we could drive to instead of flying to Florida.
  17. I did price it out last night. You're right. It's about the same price as a Jr. Suite. This may be an option for us. Thanks.
  18. Thank you for the replies everyone. I have no idea what I want to do. lol. This initial cruise was for April of '21 on Odyssey, that was canceled due to the ship not being finished, so we switched it to Oasis. Then that was canceled, now we're booked for Oasis for this coming April and we're going to push it back to '23. If we get to go next year it will be 6 years since we last cruised, which is WAY to long of a wait. So now I'm looking at Suites just to make it special. I'll figure something out. I just really like the 8 night Southern Caribbean itinerary from Florida. So I'm limited in choices.
  19. I understand your situation. I think we can make the sleeping situation work for us. If not, I'd probably ask for a cart if possible. I haven't priced out a 2 BR Suite yet and the only other option would be adjoining balcony staterooms but we would miss out on the Suite perks.
  20. We'll be travelling with our kids age 13 and 9. So the extra room would be nice. I'm just not sure if the Suite benefits are worth the extra money on the Voyager Class ships.
  21. I've seen people say it's not worth booking anything higher than Jr. Suites on ships other than Quantum or Oasis Class ships because you won't get as much bang for your buck. What are your thoughts on this?
  22. We're thinking of booking a Grand Suite on Explorer OTS. We've never stayed in a Suite other than Jr. Suites so can you tell me any pros, cons, tips, advice on booking a Grand Suite? Thanks
  23. Thanks for the reply. It totally makes sense.
  24. My Odyssey cruise was cancelled and I chose the FCC. I also chose the 125% for On Board credit because I had already purchased my drink package. I booked a cruise on Oasis and saw the drink package on sale today. My question is. If I buy the Drink package on sale now can I apply the 125% on board credit to that cost later seeing that I haven't actually received the OBC yet? Thanks. I hope I explained that right.
