  1. We did the RC Exclusive Drive tour last month. We really enjoyed it. We were in a 12 person air conditioned bus. It is essentially the same as the other tour with the exception of a much smaller group. There were only 9 of us in the group, as opposed to a full large bus group. Our guide did a great job of keeping the information flowing throughout the ride there and back to the ship. We were given a guided tour around the ruins while she explained the history of the ruins. Our guide set us up with the best picture locations at various spots and took each family's pictures, so no selfies necessary. Being in a small group, we were able to ask many questions and get a lot of information. We were given cold water to take with us on the walk. Then on the ride back, our guide and driver had a cooler full of beer, soda and more water for us. If you are looking for a smaller group setting, this in the one to choose. We were able to get a fantastic deal for Black Friday, so figured we would try it. Great choice!
  2. We took the RC shuttle in January. Our flight was later in the afternoon, so we didn't get off the ship until 8:30ish. Picked up our luggage, walked right out to the buses, got on one, and was dropped off at the airport without a problem. I was an air conditioned coach bus that was fine. I can't remember exactly how much the cost, maybe $18pp.
  3. We will definitely hit the Trellis Bar and Wonderland's bar. And, we will do some asking around to find out where Izumi's drinks come from. Thanks!
  4. My apologies if this question has been asked before. We are pretty new to cruising (only our second cruise), do not have any plans to dine at the special dining venues, but would love to order a drink at some of the bars in the specialty restaurants. Can we just go in, sit at the bar and have a drink? This is our first time having the UBP and want to be adventurous with the drinks. We will be on Harmony. Also, any recommendations of must try concoctions?
  5. When you cancel, your OBC will be reinstated. Then you can use the OBC again when you repurchase.
  6. We loved Hiro. We saw it twice on our sailing.
  7. Unfortunately I don't have any information to give you. But I am hoping you would share your thoughts about cruising with a mobility scooter. My parents are very excited to start cruising and I would love some suggestions. My Dad is wheelchair bound, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  8. We did this excursion in January. It was perfectly fine for a bus tour, but we would not do it again. We were really late departing at the beginning of the tour, so we had a reduced amount of time at each stop and felt quite rushed. We were only able to have about 15 minutes at the beach, so that was disappointing. The other stops were a little longer, but still quite quick. The longest stop was for shopping, which we were not really excited about. But, the driver and tour guide were both nice. Next time we visit St. Maarten, we will definitely skip the bus tour and take a cab to the destinations we are most interested in. As far as value goes, not really worth the price we paid.
  9. When you get back, you may have to call to get the kid’s points added to their account. I had to after our first cruise in January. Five minute phone call to C&A to get it corrected.
  10. Hi there! We just booked, so we will be joining you all! It will be us and another couple, so adults only this time. We are leaving the kids at home for this one.
  11. Ditto! That is exactly what my travel agent said.
  12. Ditto! On Symphony, our digital photos were also available the morning of disembarkation. And, we had ZERO candid shots. Only posed pictures were available.
  13. If you get the refreshment package, you don't necessarily need the bottled water you purchased through RCCL because you get bottled water at any bar. I just grabbed a couple at a time when I was getting a drink or passing by, then stockpiled them in the room cooler for later. Never had trouble getting all the water we needed (and we drink a lot of water!). Just a thought.
  14. Ditto Xaa... go to the photo area and ask to link. Then you just tell the photographer your room number when you get photos taken.
  15. Mother in law and DD in different room. We also had no problems linking cabins for photos. And, I only purchased one photo package in my name.
  16. 2 cabins for sure! Two bathrooms are very nice, with the added benefit of extra space with the 2nd room!
  17. Because it is only our second cruise, all of the itineraries look amazing.
  18. I pre-paid for the arcade credits for my kids before our cruise. My kids never used any of the credits, because the arcade was closed the one time they tried to go. The kids were so busy with everything else there was to do, they didn't get too many opportunities to even want to go. On the last day, I went to guest services and was fortunate enough to get a full refund on the arcade credits. Another thing to consider is the arcade is pretty small.
  19. This is only our 2nd cruise and friends 1st RCCI cruise. Our first was on SY. Any advice for how small would be too small to go down to a different class of ship? We are not taking the kids this time, adults only... So, no need for all of the thrills, but we like to keep busy with activities. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  20. We did the excursion in January. The Sky Ride ticket was included in the excursion price. Definitely not enough time for lunch. The views are great, but it was very crowded up there. After taking pictures and browsing the small shops, we didn't even try to grab a drink before we got in line to ride back. The island was very congested with traffic, so our driver warned us to get back to the bus on time for transfer back.
  21. WOW...that's a lot for the Thrill Park. We were on Symphony in January, with a stop at Coco Cay. We loved the slides! But now that we have been, there is no way I would pay that much. Even though my kids really enjoy waterparks, they only stayed in the Thrill Park for half the day. After riding everything a few times, they wanted to head over to the wave pool and then the beach. I agree with SpeedNoodles, buy them and wait for a price drop. If the price doesn't drop, you could always cancel.
  22. Just got off Symphony this past weekend. I understand the limitations of packing for the cruise but limiting the bags for flying to get there. I was very glad I had pants and a light sweater in my suitcase. Nights were a bit chilly for me on the balcony and upper deck. DH and kids were fine with a light long sleeve shirt and shorts. The Royal Theater was also cool during the late performance, so I wore the sweater a couple of times. Enjoy your cruise!
  23. We just sailed Symphony. Most of the excursions we wanted were sold out, but additional excursions and spots on original sold out excursions opened up right before we sailed and again while we were onboard. We booked a great snorkeling excursion on St. Maarten and an island tour of St. Thomas.
