  1. So am I and a LOT of others. It is the President's Cruise, so I have to imagine they are working through these issues over the next month and we may be fortunate enough to enjoy a better experience..... Obviously that does not help others. But with the Alaska season just starting up, hopefully it is just the temp growing pains from starting up.
  2. Now reports coming out that Icon may be larger than Oasis. They even quote @MAT the blog in the article. Interesting... https://travelweekly.co.uk/news/cruise/royal-caribbeans-icon-of-the-seas-to-be-bigger-than-oasis-class
  3. Has there been any announcements or rumors, as to special guest or performances for the President's Cruise 2022? Its is getting close, only a few day away from online check in.
  4. I thought you might be the first to respond @twangster. Extremely helpful as always. Thank you. I am off to cancel my package and figure out where to blow my extra $500.
  5. Resurrecting an old thread but here it goes. I am boarding the Harmony on Sunday and am in a Grand Suite. This is a sky class suite on this ship and is supposed to come with Voom. Says voom for every person booked in the room. I currently have purchased on the planner a 4 pack of Voom Surf and Stream for the four of us booked in the room. Question: Is the internet included with the suite Voom Surf and Stream or just Voom? If it is Voom Surf and Stream, I should be safe to cancel my planner package and save $489? thanks in advance
  6. Thanks @AshleyDillo exactly what I was looking for. I saw some variations on 1887 vs Iskate (looks like only 1 showing of Iskate) and whether or not the aqua theater shows were running. This helps me plan. Thanks again
  7. Getting on Harmony the day you get off. I hope you all have fun. I am trying to set up dining, but I have seen some conflicting info on show times for aqua theater and the skating performances. You don't by chance have a pic of the single page event/show calendar you would be willing to share, do you? Thanks I hope you have a blast!
  8. I have heard many folks wearing their badges, as they say "I have to wear it, it is the most expensive piece of jewelry I own."
  9. WoW. I have been following this closely and I chuckled the same interpretation to myself anecdotally. But, now that someone else is interpreting the fine print in favor of my jest, I wonder if it has any teeth??? I expect @Matt will have a different understanding reading his latest blog on the matter. However I would like to hear others chime in.
  10. They are both 7 day cruises so I hope you are correct, anything to cut down on the dreaded post test anxiety, by reducing number of tests is very welcome.
  11. Thanks to all for the great answers to the OP question. So I also have an Izumi question. When dining with children looking at some of the cruise compasses it appears that I could use my ultimate dining plan with my unvaccinated child at Izumi just not the hibachi grill? Am I seeing that correctly?
  12. So @Matt just posted about changes coming to the back to back testing experience. It seems that RC will be moving to handing out eMed kits in lieu of the onboard Medical Facility testing. I am curious how that may affect kids on B2Bs, as children are not allowed to use the eMed home testing kits for their pre-cruise test? Curious as I will be on a B2B with my kids in a few days. Has anyone done 7 day B2B cruises with children under the vax age, recently with the current protocols? I get that the odds of this change to eMed kits probably will not be in place by my cruise dates, but it did lead me down the path of a few questions..... *also thanks to @Matt, @svcruiser, and others who have posted great info on cruising with kids lately!
  13. Curious about this, how far in advance did you receive the email to register your child's appointment? Is it a shareable link that could work for any cruise? I am 12 days out from our cruise and have not received such email. Also did you figure the PCR vs Rapid test out.... it must be a mistake or old language?
  14. As @Matt and many others have stated, it is always worth checking to see if an earlier time has become available. After reading the "things worth re-checking" article today, I decided to recheck my check in times. I was able to move my next two cruises up to 11:30am. whoo hoo!!
  15. Best part of President's Cruise is the return of the Midnight buffet.... inclusive of ice, sugar, and chocolate sculptures.
  16. I have to agree with others here. The DSB Journey cover band on the President's Cruise was Legit!! My entire party had a blast!
  17. I had to renew mine and my 6 year old. Minors only have option for new and not renewal. I paid for all of the expedite fees that I could. - 9/17 - Mailed both off - 9/22 - Status online stated they were both officially received and "In Process" - 10/8 - Received my 6 year old's new passport and card - 10/22 - Received my new renewal passport and card Sounds like it went smooth, but that last week I was checking the site every day, as my flight leaves 2 week of Nov. (and in the mean time I also ordered and received additional official copies of my birth certificate - just in case)
  18. Yep my bad. I was getting lost in the sauce with too many upcoming cruises and excitement. It was not on the Nov 21 Harmony but it is and still remains to be on the Nov 28th Harmony.
  19. Just checked Nassau is no longer on Nov 21 Harmony schedule. Bummer I haven't even received an email yet. No replacement listed just a sea day.
  20. My notification for Harmony on Nov 28th "Itinerary Change As part of the guidance received from the CDC, we've implemented new boarding and arrival protocols and as a result, we'll need some extra time for check-in. We'll now depart from Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida at 5:00 PM, instead of 4:30 PM. Separately, to maintain your safety and wellbeing, we'll visit Cozumel, Mexico instead of Labadee due to the current political and security situation in Haiti. Regrettably, this impacts our visit to Falmouth, Jamaica because of its distance from Mexico. Instead, we'll visit Costa Maya, Mexico and we've swapped the order we'll visit our private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, Bahamas. We know how much time and effort go into planning your vacation, and we're sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. We're excited to take you to new ports and know you'll have an excellent time! Below, please find our revised Harmony of the Seas November 28th, 2021 itinerary."
  21. I received this from RC regarding my Nov 28th cruise on Harmony: "Itinerary Change As part of the guidance received from the CDC, we've implemented new boarding and arrival protocols and as a result, we'll need some extra time for check-in. Below, please find our revised Harmony of the Seas November 28th, 2021 itinerary." So I find it unlikely your cruise 2 weeks earlier will still sail to Labadee.
  22. For me it still makes sense. I am diamond and I always get the DBP, (we will see if I am proven wrong on my upcoming cruises, with the preloaded drinks on my card)..... But, I always wait and get it on sale of either 30% off or BOGO 50%, which makes it about $68.50 per day. I have coffee every morning from the café and cappuccino every night at the end of dinner. A couple of bottled waters through out the day and more on port days. 2 - 3 glasses of wine at dinner (enjoy long dinners). Which leaves 4-5 cocktails through out the day (maybe more). And finally a few late night cocktails at the shows or listening/dancing to music. So i think it still pans out, but maybe i drink too much on cruises ;).
  23. Good question. I have been wondering the same thing. Will the drink menu and drinks of the days, stray from their normal tropical theme. Judging from some of the cruise compasses online it looks like they are about the same. But I will be on the Jewel Holy Land Cruise in less than a week and will find out myself.
