Unfortunately, I think the personalized luggage tags are a thing of the past-even for suites and Pinnacles.

You will be able to eat b'fast in Chops.

You will be able to order room service from the MDR menu

Lately the service has been pretty sparse on the upgraded seats I've had.  (I have a high frequent flyer level so get complimentary upgrades when open).   Would pay for business on an overseas flight, but not seeing the love on domestic flights.  Although Alaska is like on overseas flight from a timeline  perspective.   The upgrade still gets you superior seating (legroom etc)and the baggage perks.  But cabin service is not much better than coach (airline dependent - I fly AA and  its pretty bad , but I'm too invested in the frequent flyer program).  Just a sign of the times we're in.

As a business traveler I bought a sports coat with the criteria "must travel well".  It doesn't wrinkle easy and it goes with everything.  It's "good from far, but far from good".  It checks the box on formal nights.  Do I look like a million bucks?  Nope.  But I'm not trying to.
I have worn it with my khawi hiking pants that have zip on legs.  They are shorts by day, and check the box of "long pants" by night.
A travel ready sports coat with a white dress or collared shirt, no tie.
Sitting at dinner all everyone sees is a dress shirt and sports coat and it's very easy to pack.
For me that's good enough while keeping in the spirit of the intention.
    YMMV.

No lunches included with the 3 night package.  You would have to pay separately for Playmakers for lunch.  If you get the Unlimited Dining Plan you can eat at as many venues as you want as many time a day as you want (as long as the venue can accommodate you).

Absolutely. I agree with personal responsibility and doing what is best for you and yours. That said, we had a very scary experience this week. My sister, who has had the shots, got Covid, and it attacked her heart. We almost lost her within a day of getting sick. Long story short, she had a heart condition we didn’t know about, and Covid made it worse. Regeneron and two stents later, we think she will make a mostly full recovery with some heart damage from Covid. I wasn’t so positive about that Tuesday.

I believe we will get thru this newest strain, and this pandemic will pass.  I won’t be complaining about the cruise lines and the choices they make to stay operating. I will just be happy to be onboard. Whatever way these court cases turn out. ?
Thank you all for analyzing all the info. I’ve followed this closely (till this week, when I was distracted). I personally appreciate the time and effort from each of you. ?

Just a little poke in the ribs to remind the cruise industry that they will still have to deal with the CDC no matter how any court rules.  It also may be an attempt to get the cruise lines to side with the CDC in the suit, trying to make a State win bad for the cruise lines.

It's like the CDC is desperately trying to retain control of cruise ships by a shoestring, or this case a mask string.

If you purchase the UDP then you would presumably eat all of your meals in specialty restaurants BUT you don’t have to !  If you decided that you wanted to eat in the MDR on any particular evening, you could still do that.  Since MTD is a “eat-at-any-time” option, you could choose to go to the MDR, either with a reservation or without one, and they would seat you.  It’s nice to have options !

Let me be clear, I'm not a lawyer but I follow constitutional law and SCOTUS rulings that deal with it closely. So, when you read my posts where I try to explain what's going on, these are the ramblings of a rank amateur. This stuff is very complex, filled with legal jargon that lawyers go to law school for 4 years to learn. Moreover constitutional law is a specialty field like cardiology is in the medical field.
Having said that, I'd urge people reading this thread to not be "disappointed" by what has transpired. In this seemingly unimportant case you are seeing exactly how the framers wanted American style democracy in a republic to work. To wit: The framers anticipated creeping over-reach by presidents and his appointed members of the executive branch. The way to limit that was with a powerful judicial branch. Among other responsibilities but probably their primary one, SCOTUS interprets constitutional issues.
Very early on in the FL law suit Judge Merryday picked up that this was going to involve constitutional issues. His 124 page ruling reflects that. Now it looks like the 11th Circuit judges see that too and that, as one of the documents released yesterday states, (paraphrased) "in anticipation that this case will be heard by SCOTUS" the appellant's (CDC) appeal is denied.
...... and yes, members of congress and the president know how important their appointment of federal judges and supreme court justices is in carrying out their fundamental believes about American democracy and the role of government in it. Of course, we expect these jurists to be "blind" to everything but the law. Sometimes they are sometimes they are not. In this case, and IMO, the judges involved adjudicating the FL law suit are ruling in strict accordance with existing law and importantly leaning a bit to the right on the constitutional issues involved - separation of powers.
