As others have noted, there is a very good chance that the room you are bidding for is not even actually available.  It might become available if others either cancel at the last minute or they are allowed to RoyalUp and leave a room available for you.
If there is an open cabin in the category for which you are bidding, Royal would certainly rather sell that room at full price than to give it to you at a RoyalUp discount....so they're going to wait as long as possible to see if they (1) sell it at full price or (2) maximize the RoyalUp waterfall price.

Or he will be on Navigator of the Seas on the West Coast! 😝

If you get 2 of the same type of drink (like your 2 lattes example) it looks like you are trying to use your package to get drinks for multiple people which is against the rules.  However, if you bring 2 seapass cards showing each person has a package, you can get those 2 lattes without both people having to wait in line.

We got the same notification AA.  We went and downloaded the app and also didn't like the photo part...We had to take the picture then and had no option to use a saved photo.  Also didn't see the need to add personnel details to an app...Deleted the app.

Yea to be up front I am in a Junior Suite and I am happy with that for sure. Of course I had to bid on the two bedroom Grand Suite which was way out of our price range. I totally get RC trying to get as much money as possible and I think this is a great way for them to do that and treat some lucky cruisers. I just wish it was more like 4-5 days notice instead of 1-2. I really don't plan on winning anyway my bid was low. The good news is 2 of those rooms are still open as of last check so hopefully the winds will be in my favor lol

To avoid unwelcome vaccine controversy, I’ll just say that we are philosophically and medically opposed to the COVID injections.  Under no circumstances would we consider getting any of them.

I like champagne at sail away, at least on embarkation day. I don't drink hard liquor/ mixed drinks so I usually have a glass of wine or champagne.

Read report that mentioned that the french are building barracades so it  makes their retreat easier and the dutch just want everyone to chill out 🙂

Yep. And dog forbid you try to leave the table without ordering dessert.  I tried that and the Maitre-d' came over to check to see if I was ok, lol.  They insisted on at least bringing me some sorbet.

I guess we are some of the lucky ones then.... We've gone from the Allure 2 Bed GS to a 2 Bed Aqua Suite.
I feel for anyone disadvantaged by this.
I guess some karma is working in our favour? We booked Indy from Southampton and RCL moved the ship back to Florida and cancelled everyone's bookings and gave everyone a voucher to use. So, we are using that voucher to discount this trip :)

I love, love, love days like this...where you really don't do much of anything.  It makes the day go by quickly but I still love it.  I read SOOO many times, "I don't spend any time in my room so why pay a lot of money for a room" ?  I have discovered, over the years, the nicer your room the more time you want to spend in it !!  Funny how that works.  I found this to be the most true when we stayed in the Grand Panoramic Suite on Oasis.  That room was incredible...and I loved just hanging out there.  A 7 night cruise goes by fast already so if you don't take time to just enjoy it, you will miss a lot.  GREAT job on hanging out for this one !!
When we were on Anthem for our SC B2B, we had Jesus as our room attendant and he was a master at the towel animals.  His specialty were mini-towel-animals.  He claims (and I have to take his word for it) that he began the whole towel animal craze waaay back.  Too bad if Jesus isn't on Anthem now....he was really awesome.

Just noticed that I have the same exact points on Royal as I do on Celebrity.   Of course you get around 4x the points on Celebrity than you typically get on Royal, so not exactly equal.  Still interesting and unexpected.

I saw this twin too!  Pretty sure I freaked him out cuz I kept staring trying to picture him without the mask >.<

You can make reservations as soon as you are connected to the ship's wifi onboard. I typically go to whatever restaurant is open for lunch immediately when boarding and sit down and order food and make all my reservations while eating lunch. That way if I have any problems I can also go to the host stand at the restaurant and check on reservations there.

As an update. I checked a price of a cruise on Monday pre sale... and today with their "Greatest Deal Ever".... exact same price.... shocker.

I just sailed solo with the Unlimited Dining Package and they were trying to force feed me it seemed 😂
I only ordered one appetizer and entree and the waiters were overly concerned and trying to get me to order more. The Chops waiter was almost disappointed when I refused to order the full sized filet over the petite filet.
They absolutely do not care about food waste, so order whatever you feel like!

I believe you are absolutely correct in your assumption.  It's a pyramid scheme.  WAAAY fewer places to RoyalUp to, in the suites.  Waaay more places to go in the lower categories. ...plus, as you said, the $$ involved in moving from an interior to a balcony is much less (and much more achievable to many) than going from a GS to a SLS.
