  1. If you purchase a separate dining package, the above is, in general, true. But there is no requirement to purchase a dining package. You can eat all of your meals in the Main Dining Room (MDR) at no additional charge. When you eat in the MDR you can have as many entrees, sides, desserts as you like. There is no limit to what you can have from the MDR menu. Dining packages are available, if you choose to NOT eat in the MDR but it is not a requirement to purchase ANY food on board the ship.
  2. So, did I miss something ? Is Kris (DocLC) ok ?
  3. Yes, on Allure (April 2018) they had switched filet night from night #1 to night #6. The Genie’s explanation was that “the word had gotten out” that night #1 was filet night so they changed it. I don’t know if it’s still that way or not.
  4. It's true if you purchase your specialty dining BEFORE you cruise, through the cruise planner. If you purchase your specialty dining onboard, you will pay an additional 18% grat. It's one of the advantages of purchasing before boarding.
  5. Unless they have changed the menus around (which happened on Allure...so entirely possible), ask the Genie if night #1 is filet night in the CK. It is on some ships...used to be on Harmony, too. They will only offer the filet one night (unless things have changed) and the filet at CK is the consistently the best one on the whole ship.
  6. As with all things, I guess it depends on who you get on the phone. I have ALWAYS been told that you cannot combine a certificate with a casino discount. Period. Glad it worked out for you...but I wouldn't count on it working like that again.
  7. +1 for Michelle. If she puts up with me, she MUST have the patience of Job. I am such an airhead. I had her book a cruise for me while I was on Anthem last week....and then realized that it was for the wrong date and had to have her change it to the correct date. It was a suite so this was particularly problematic. NO PROBLEM for Michelle ! She got them to waive the $200 suite cancellation fee (in fairness, it was within 24 hours that we had to cancel/reschedule). I can't say enough good things on Michelle's behalf !
  8. WOW ! What an incredible new pool deck. I love that groovy-looking hot tub on the starboard side. It looks like a completely different ship than the one I was on last year ! Great work, Twangster. Thanks !!!
  9. Since you seem to have access to “insider” info for the upcoming Oasis Amperage, can you ask if they are adding Hooked to O in Nov ? Disappointed to read that they didn’t have oysters on the half shell available. We would make GOOD use of them if they offer them on O (assuming they add Hooked).
  10. I have gotten Coke products in a can in the Suites Lounge on Oasis before. I don’t know if it’s the norm or if I just got lucky.
  11. How have you been, Marc ? Haven’t heard from you in ages.
  12. I don’t know the answer to either of your questions but I will try and remember to take my phone and snap a pic of the prices.
  13. One of the highlights of the past 2 weeks on Anthem has been the awesome internet speed and availability. The best we’ve ever had experienced.
  14. I love the Amalfi coast. My business takes me to Naples a lot so I’ve spent many wonderful days in that area. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.
  15. If you go into Mahaual, you can get a very inexpensive massage right on the beach. We have always paid $20 for an hour but they always try and get you to pay more. Just insist that you will not pay more and then give them a nice tip. Do NOT let anyone “find” or “arrange” a massage for you. Find your own masseuse. If you let someone help you, they will double the price and keep half for themselves. It’s easy to find a masseuse. Their tables are set up all along the beach.
  16. Hey, Sweety ! Still on ! We are in Nassau today...going to Coco Cay tomorrow then heading back. Off on Sunday morning. Then back to work. The Cruise(s) has been wonderful. Truly, a trip of a lifetime. Our Genie, Yen is incredible. So sweet and dedicated. She told us she was getting off for a while in Nassau today and going to eat some Chinese food. I hope she really enjoys her time off the ship. She works so hard. I will do a sort of cruise highlight post when this is over. I don’t have the proper resources (laptop) with me to do it real time. Dan absolutely loves the Q class and I do too. I think I still prefer the O class but I think Dan is a convert. He loves 270. I admit...it’s pretty swell.
  17. Oh Mike that looks so good ! ...and I’ve been on a 16 day eating frenzy where I just waddle from one feeding trough to the next all day long ! I Want some Mexican food SO bad.
  18. Not sure if I understand your question....but if you’re asking if you can pool your money and “share” the status, the answer is “no”. You CAN pool your money and concentrate on one of you getting all the points, but only the person whose card is being played will get the credit and thus, the tier status.
  19. Be careful lifting the bed though. Once on Grandeur, Dan lifted the bed to slide the suitcases beneath and somehow uncoupled the beds. We had a sinkhole between the beds until we figured out what had happened and asked the room attendant to rejoin them
