  1. I believe this to be true, too. Sometimes it cannot be helped ! I think this depends on who it is and what their job is. I believe that often the bartenders will pool their tips b/c there are so many working the crowd but I think it's an individual choice on their parts as to how they handle this. Obviously, if you tip a room attendant, that money will go directly to him/her.
  2. Yes, too early. Nothing beyond the end of the calendar year is showing up for me.
  3. I booked our Prime cruises for this year months ago and have been paying on them ever since. I will reprice them using the certificates. We are doing the B2B Star Class on Anthem again.
  4. Sadly, I have not made it to Paris yet and now my opportunity to see Notre Dame is almost certainly gone forever. Such shortsightedness on my part !
  5. I’ve never had a bad Genie. They are all very good at their jobs. You will love it !
  6. I have been reading on another site that the certificates have been posted. Go to clubroyaleoffers.com and see. I will check ours in the morning.
  7. You used to be able to do it online but I don't think you can anymore. The one and only time we did it all online before boarding, we had to re-do it anyway as they had no record of our waivers. I think you can still go sign waivers before you actually intend on doing the flow rider or whatever it is....so that you will have it over with but I don't think you can do it before you board anymore.
  8. It's very interesting that you say this.... Many years ago, when we were still very new to cruising, we met a couple of cruising veterans in San Juan and spent an entire afternoon chatting. They told us that one day we would no longer be "in love" with cruising in the Caribbean and we would need to branch out and start doing other kinds of itineraries. At first glance, this seems like a very Captain Obvious kind of statement but it's taken us a while to actually get there. We truly have evolved in our cruising style(s). We no longer get off the ship in many of the Caribbean ports. We are no longer satisfied with the MDR meals. While we still LOVE cruising, we really are getting tired of cruising in the Caribbean ! Since we are still working, it is difficult for us to do the longer and more exotic itineraries, but once we retire I can see a big change to the way we cruise. I think this happens to most long term cruisers. You see it with the Pinnacles. Of course they still cruise in the Caribbean from time-to-time but they definitely favor the longer and more "unusual" itineraries. I can't WAIT until we can do some Baltic states and Persian Gulf and Pacific Island and Australia and New Zealand and Far East cruises - all back-to-back ! ?
  9. I have found this to be true, too, sometimes. But for me, it isn't really about the cost. We need to fly AA b/c we both have status with AA and in order to fly AA into FLL, we have to connect, which is a no-no for me, if it can be avoided. So we just book DCA to MIA and deal with the "commute" if there is one.
  10. Sorry, but I think that thing is hideous. I don't use any of them so it's no problem for me but....really ? UGH
  11. I hope you have a nice beach at Condado. One of the times we stayed in Condado all we had was a rocky outcropping (it was beautiful though !). We are leaving for SJ on April 27 and this time we are staying at the Sheraton Old San Juan. It will be our first time to stay in OSJ. I wouldn't worry about it. If they tell you to book 3:30 or later and you are booked at 3:15 I would say you're golden !
  12. VERY nice ! Welcome to the Blog and the Boards.
  13. Because I travel to Europe frequently I purchased a dual power hair dryer. Problem is....it is so damn hard to change from 110 to 220 that I threw it in the trash ! I just use the <wholly inadequate> ones they have in the hotels over there. I look like a scarecrow but at least I don't have trouble with the crows over there. ?
  14. This is an excellent tip....just remember (those who may be considering it) that your device must be dual power and be compatible with the European currents. Using a US-only device in a European outlet is an easy way to burn up your hairdryer (or whatever else you have plugged in there). Most cell phones/computers are already dual voltage so that's a good thing - just be sure before you plug it in.
  15. Yes. I''ve never had a waiter tell me "no". Just remember that when they bring food from another venue, somebody has had to go and fetch it....so I make sure I let them know I appreciate the effort - nice tip !
