  1. These sorts of pricing games will vary greatly from UK and US-booked sailings. Welcome to the blog !!
  2. Delighted to hear that you made it ! Good luck getting any sleep tonite. Your experience with the liquor in the cabin is the same as our friends experienced a few years ago - after many denials, they finally agreed, but at an outrageous price. I find it an interesting policy since you can drink anything on the ship in as great a quantity as you desire, but they refuse to allow a bottle of liquor in your suite. Perhaps they fear that people will request many bottles of liquor and it will go to waste...
  3. No kidding !! I HATE the way they have it now. No wonder nobody knows they have a refundable option.
  4. No, it seems there are fewer and fewer ports offering it. It used to be the "big 3" in Florida (MIA, FLL and MCO) and Seattle but Miami has never come back since it dropped over a year ago. It is SUCH a great service and SO worth the fee that they charge. I wish they would figure out whatever is holding it up in MIA and get it back, soon.
  5. My experience has been that even when I am within 30 days, I will get the same message. I will get folks who disagree, but it is my belief that if you are not invited to participate in RoyalUp, you cannot participate in RoyalUp.
  6. I haven’t seen a Captains Table in years. Do they still have them ?
  7. Agreed. The Concierge email has been coming 5 days before sailing for us. It’s time to give ‘em a little kick in the backside and get ‘em movin’.
  8. I always pay mine up front. Don't like getting the bill at the end of the cruise.
  9. I’ve heard absolutely nothing about status or proposed opening date. We will be at Coco Cay on 2-11 and I’m also wondering if the Beach Club will be open even by then !
  10. Safety pins. I’m always needing one for something or another.
  11. The requirement to prepay grats if you are doing MTD went away a number of years ago. What J_Keeble was suggesting, I think, is that his friend is considering removing ALL gratuities associated with dining. ...and was, apparently told that if you are doing MTD you are not permitted to avoid paying dining gratuities.
  12. Oh. Well....I have never heard of them REFUSING to allow the gratuities from being removed. Maybe it's a new policy. If it is, I am unaware of it.
  13. Do you mean that they are adding ADDITIONAL gratuities in the MDR ? I have never ever seen this anywhere. There are compulsory grats that are factored into your daily grat, but not a separate fee associated with MDR dining that I am aware of.
