Ogilthorpe reacted to jticarruthers in Full Vaccination - Boosters?
All depends on point of view, life in Florida basically went back to normal over a year ago so all of this stuff feels weird to a Floridian.

Why did Beethoven get rid of his chickens?
All they said was "Bach, Bach, Bach."

Another tidbit in the original article is beginning in March NCL will allow unvaccinated children 5 years old and under to cruise with them.
I think that policy reversal is interesting given NCL's stance and public statements just a few months ago towards cruise lines that were allowing unvaccinated passengers onboard.
I think we all knew at some point NCL would have to give in, you can't continue to turn away families with small children who can't get vaccinated and think it will not impact your bottom line especially when your cruise line is geared toward family vacations including families with small children. I applaud NCL for trying this but there is no way NCL could enter into what is expected to be a busy spring and summer season for the cruise industry with this policy still in place. The policy alone would cost them millions of dollars by turning way thousands of potential guest.

Masks would be my first protocol to get rid of, but testing healthy people is just bad practice.

A cruise ship sinks in the middle of the sea and the cruise passengers manage to escape on life boats. A woman asks the Captain “How far is the closest land?”
“3 miles”, he answers. “That’s not too bad, in which direction?, she asks.
The Captain replied “Down”

True. Several other of the protocols don't stop people from getting covid either.

I'm game, although I've never had one and don't exactly know what one is made up of.
Perhaps a good rum-based booster shot? Or a 43 shot!!!

The vaccines, at this point in the game, protect you from severe covid cases. While that is obviously valuable and important to the individual, it's pretty useless when applied to a group since vaccinated and unvaccinated alike can get and spread covid.
At this stage of the game, you could drop all testing, masking and vaccine requirements and things wouldn't be any worse off on a ship.
Europe is going in that direction quickly

Mr. Miyagi didn't really teach karate.
But he had a great Sensei humor.

So, a weasel walks into a bar …..
The bartender looks up and says “Wow!! In all my years tending bar, I’ve never had a weasel stop by. What can I get you?”
“POP”, goes the weasel.

This one is for all of the schoolteachers on board here, enjoy! 😎
A group of 4 year-olds were trying to get used to attending school, and the biggest hurdle that they found themselves facing came when their teacher told them that no baby talk would be allowed in her class room. “You need to use ‘big people’ words,” she was constantly telling them.
One day, she asked one student, “Ben, what did you do over the weekend?” I went to visit my Nana,” he responded. “No, you went to visit your grandmother. Use big people words,” the teacher told him.
She then turned to another student named Kevin and asked what he did with his weekend. “I took a ride on a choo-choo,” Kevin replied. “No, you took a ride on a train. Use big people words,” the teacher admonished him.
Finally, she turned to a student named Tom and asked what he had done over the weekend. “I read a book,” the four year-old responded. “That’s wonderful,” the teacher said. “What book did you read?” Tom thought about her question for a second, then he puffed out his chest with great pride and said, “Winnie The Shit.”
