  1. With a published false positive rate of 3%, they are ahead of the curve statistically speaking. ?
  2. I did a Liftt and Shift on July 16 ... BUT cancelled our cruise planner purchases online and had the confirmation emails before calling to L&S assuming the refund processes were different. The refund was posted to my RCL visa today. My recommendation is to cancel cruise planner prior to L&S for faster refunds.
  3. I'm excited about the positive implications here. I am concerned that this is a truly non-scientific poll. It would be ideal if they could limit responses to those who have cruise experience and, at the very least, reduce the weighting for those who have strong opinions but have no idea why. Many rebels without a clue out there! ??
  4. Do we start counting when they left for college or after they moved out again after they returned after graduating? ???
  5. Although I remain optimistic that it will sail, I explored possible L&S for our Feb 2021 Star Class Anthem sailing from Bayonne. The only option in the system was the Enchantment out of Baltimore. The itinerary length was the same, the itinerary was different as was the room class. Certainly not an attractive trade for the cost. Perhaps there would be additional options, but I see no where to move that cruise at this point.
  6. We have been on this itinerary in February and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact we have it booked twice more. I highly recommend it. Also being from upstate NY I find Bayonne in February balmy ?. There was plenty of room at the sky bar on embarkation day ... while I relaxed with a cocktail wearing my shorts enjoying the ambiance ???
  7. From my perspective, the decision would be based on a priority of factors. 1. If the ship is more of the destination, I would choose the Oasis class every time. 2. If the ports of call are the priority, I would select the 9 day Explorer because I love Aruba and Labadee. A Tie breaker would be number of sea days ... I truly enjoy sea days ....everything is open, including the casino.
  8. I have a corner on the Anthem deck 10 in February ... I wish I had seen this last year! ? It was the idea of both aft and side facing balconies that lured us in ... that and all the documentation claims they are all the same size. In many ways, similar to the lack of official documentation about the pole in non-connecting owners suites on Oasis class .
  9. October 18 2020 Oasis has been Lifted and Shifted to October 17, 2021 Oasis. Same room, same great rate (FYI: taxes and port fees are $40 higher next year) ... the $41 DBP is no longer ??
  10. It could be, I was using Chrome on my desktop. In desktop Edge, it is the old style site, in Desktop IE it is new and has the change date in the itinerary window. On my phone (Android Chrome) it is the new style and the change date is in the itinerary window there also. I'm realizing this is way more interesting than what I was working on .... ??
  11. I found the "Change Date" selection on the itinerary/Promos and Offers screen. It appears the new path back there is to select "view itinerary details". Once you have advanced past Room Type, you either need to back page or select the logo where options will take you all the way back. I kinda miss the old way also.
  12. It appears that everything past the section of sailing date is updated. Some updated room descriptions as well more virtual tours.
  13. Another motivation to utilize Lift and Shift for my upcoming bookings that are in jeopardy of cancellation! ??
  14. Yet RCL stock is up 21.2% today ? Could the 'experts' be wrong? ??? Embracing the optimism ... for now ?
  15. 1. Meeting @CHRIS WONG and following his advice to achieve the next Club Royale level ??? 2. Windjammer remake .. I might go back again ??
  16. Or not being asked ...because they already know who you are ????
  17. I dont miss the phenomenon of all the clothing in my closet beginning to shrink by mid cruise! ???
  18. Certain elevator frustrations: 1. Waiting for an extended period for an elevator while you watch the entire bank of cars move in ways that make little sense. e.g. waiting to go down while watching elevators stop on the floor below you and reverse direction at the same time empty cars from above pass by ?? 2. The insistence of some passengers to push their way onto an elevator before those exiting can get off, although they try valiantly and, sometimes, unsuccessfully to depart. Honorable Mention: the individuals who seem to believe that the elevators are a good place to leave their empty Windjammer-to-go dishes.
  19. Excellent news! For us, everything we have booked keeps going up in price! ??? ... yes, I still check frequently ??
  20. I was wondering if this was their way to utilize their existing system to keep a record in place to link and track FCCs, OBCs and Cruise Planner Credits associated with cancelled cruises.
  21. In many ways, I would welcome "Social Distancing" (Odd term, should be considered an oxymoron ... but I digress ....) in some venues that are currently a bit crowded. Others are already set up that way, or mostly set up that way. Coastal kitchen on Oasis class, 270 tables on Quantum class, Specialty restaurants all are close to having 6 ft separation already. In the MDR, it would be a welcome change on those that are packed a bit too tight currently. Theatre seating could be a challenge, but it would be nice to have some elbow room!
  22. This seems to have elements similar to RCL replacing the Allure with the Liberty in Galveston.
  23. It seems that there is a time honored tradition of people being negative about things they don't understand or, potentially, know anything about. I'm not sure what drives it, but the negative reactions come from a truly diverse crowd. Mention a cruise, and, unless a fellow cruiser is involved, the response is immediate: "Floating Pastry Dish .. " ?? (Yes, I know the actual term, but I refuse to write it ?... and 'Pastry' remains best autocorrect yet on this board) Like so many things, I think it is a case of legend always seems to take precedence over fact.
  24. If I join the Tropical Party ... will I need to break my affiliation with the Continuous Party? ????
