Anyone have “Monday” elevator carpet picture?
Va4fam replied to Birdman325's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If you need one from Navigator, I can take one Feb 13th and Feb 20th! -
Having a Midnight Buffet once per cruise would be awesome! Once per cruise makes it more unique and fun. Thank goodness I can get chocolate chip cookies and pizza late at night.

We pre-ordered a cooler bag for our February Navigator cruise. Gladly post pics and report back unless someone beats me to it. -

It looks nice. Tempted to purchase one. Anyone know what the dimensions of the bag are and what it's made of? -
Royal Up and Guaranteed Rooms
Va4fam replied to ChadwickFrench's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes. You can book the GTY room and still bid on a Royal Up. -
I loved Southwest but they have spent the past 3 years not loving me back. Let my elite status go this year after too many delays, cancelled flights, and chaos. I kept track of all of my flight segments and in 2022 they were 2 for 30 on getting me to my destination within 30 minutes of scheduled arrival. 18 of my flights were delayed more than 90 minutes, 6 more were cancelled.

Sailing out of NYC questions vs Florida
Va4fam replied to gi333's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Save $$ and drive to port if you can. Summer thunderstorms have created havoc with the airlines the past two years....just my two cents. Oasis is a great ship and there is plenty to do for all ages. The weather should be plenty warm enough to enjoy the pools. Always a chance for rough weather no matter what time of year (ask the people trying to get back to Galveston a couple of weeks ago!) but with an Oasis sized ship, it shouldn't be much of an issue. Things to do in Port Canaveral......Kennedy Space Center is awesome, other options: Cocoa Beach, Ron Jon Surf shop (it's huge), some good restaurants, shopping. -
It is per person for the entire cruise (up to 2 people). If you have a 3rd person, they are not charged for a successful Royal Up.

Related question....we have a B2B on Navigator in February. Used two different agencies and will not be in same room for both cruises. Should I call RCCL to mark our reservations as consecutive? Can we leave bags on the ship, or do we have to take them off the ship, go through customs and bring through embarkation again? We hope to get back on the ship with bags and then disembark again to have lunch near the port. Just wondering....is there easier way for online check in instead adding information each time (passport, address, credit card), etc?

We have booked a GTY balcony a few times. Our room assignment was not provided until close to embarkation date. Might not be enough time to bid on a Royal Up after receiving the assignment. I agree with @SpeedNoodles, I would bid on a higher category room instead of similar room type.

In my experience, the person submitting the bid receives the email. We have been successful with one RU from a balcony to a JS (it was for our kids cabin) but no luck with any others.

Departure city for Alaska cruise
Va4fam replied to chrismelissa's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
What are your recommendations if we have one day in Seward or Anchorage area? We plan to fly into Anchorage on a Friday night but the ship doesn't depart until Saturday at 7:30 pm or 8. -
Do you remember which ones you did? We are planning a combo excursion in Skagway (train, gold panning, sled dogs) but also considering one in Anchorage. What did you like about yours?

What a cool concept, great idea from the Royal team to send these out. No email for us.....we had 14 days this year and scheduled for 19 days in 2023.

Has anyone used the Mixbook coupon from the Photo center?
Va4fam replied to AHollyS's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes, we ordered the free mixbook. The first one was printed in Spanish......we didn't know how to change the language to English. But they reprinted it for us and sent another one at no cost. Edit---the book turned out really nice. We used pictures from several cruises and turned it into a travel yearbook! Have not used another vendor but were pleased with the results. -
We will be on Navigator B2B right after your cruise. Not a lot of excursions planned, it will be Super Bowl Sunday when we are in Cabo, doing a Deer Island Kayak adventure in Mazatlan, and the Town/Country/and Tequila in Puerto Vallarta, 2nd cruise we have a brewery excursion booked for Ensenada, and exploring Catalina on our own. The pulmonia looks like fun......I'm tempted to book one. Are they all over Mexico or primarily in Mazatlan.

Anthem just had a Van Halen cover band (FAN HALEN) for two weeks in November. We saw No Quarter (Led Zep) on our recent Oasis sailing, and Wanted(Bon Jovi) several years ago. All on Oasis/Quantum ships.

@Cactus527, thanks for the info. Didn't realize Venice Beach was so close to Santa Monica. We might be better off going there first. -
Navigator - Pre/post cruise activity ideas
Va4fam replied to BeachGal's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks for all the informative posts. We are doing B2B (7 nights and 4 nights) on Navigator in February and considering catching lunch at the San Pedro brewery before embarkation for cruise #1 or # 2. Our flight to LAX gets in very late and we are most likely staying at an airport hotel before making our way to San Pedro the next morning. We've been to Santa Monica, San Clemente (great little beach town), and LA/San Diego. How far is Venice Beach from San Pedro?
