With the ever changing protocols and Delta variant and such, does anyone know if private excursions (not through Royal) are allowed for ships sailing from Florida? We cruise in about 48 days on the Symphony out of Miami and planned on booking my own excursions but may have heard that unless you book(ed) through Royal, you will not be allowed to go to those. Specifically, I am wondering about Mexico as I have been ready to plan my excursions for Cozumel and Costa Maya, but not sure if I should or not? Does anyone know what Royal's position is on private tours? I know what is set today, could change tomorrow. Ugh! I just don't know what to do!

May 2022 will be the first time my wife and I ever go to Alaska. Are stops are: Juneau, Skagway and Victoria BC Since we have never been there before, what are the "MUST" see/do at these ports. I have not scheduled any excursions yet because we simply don't know what we should do? I know there are so many choices. I think one we want to do is the White Pass Train ride as I hear that is a must do in Skagway. Other than that, we are open to anything as we are very fit (so anything that involves good cardio/walking) is fine! OK, there you have it! What are your suggestions!!!! Fire away! LOL Carlos

Hello all, please forgive me if this has already been posted. I would like to know what is the official protocol if we "happen" to test positive when we do our pre boarding test 3 days before cruising? I really don't want to fly to Florida just to be denied and waste that flight, money, etc... Both my wife and I were vaccinated a long while back, but were wondering what do we do if for whatever reason our tests come back positive? Our flights were booked through Royal Air, would we get our money back for that or would they honor a future flight? Do I need to call Royal immediately if our results are not negative? We just want to be 110% ready and prepared for anything! Thanks all! Carlos

Thank you @JeffBWe cruise in October, specifically on the 16th and hopefully by then, protocols will change in our favor. Makes things difficult as I was about to book excursions on my own (private) but now I am hesitant to do so.

I would also like to know if this is a Celebrity thing or if this is recent change from Mexico? We are planning to do Mr Sanchos, but now want to make sure we can do whatever we want in these 2 ports.

We will be there in 55 days. We love the beach, so we are doing the all inclusive Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel. There definitely is a lot to do in Cozumel. As for Costa Maya? Not sure as we have never been there. I think we will just "wing it" for that port. @Mattlike a place called Maya Chan (sp?) I think that is also a pay as you go beach place. Looks like the port is HUGE, so there may be plenty to do there as well.

We also sail on the Symphony in October. Given that this is a really large ship, I wonder what the capacity will be? I’m a little torn cause on one hand, a lesser capacity seems nice (no crowds, no lines, etc…) the other part of me feels that the vibe on the ship will be very subdued.

Hello all, I booked a cruise a couple of years ago which is finally going to sail this October after cancellations, Covid, etc... When I booked my particular cabin, the TA I used said I would get $75.00 OBC. It has not shown up anywhere in my account. Is this something I should contact Royal about or is this a TA issue? Not sure who "issues" the credit? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Carlos

Wow, your Royal Up minimum bids are much cheaper than mine were on the Symphony for this Oct.

It makes no sense how Royal does things at times ? You cruise before we do yet I just received my cabin assignment and I also bid the minimum on the next size room and it shows pending. Hope we get lucky.

I do have a Royal Up that’s still pending but at least it’s nice to know that if I don’t get it, I’m happy with my balcony room. Deck 11 seems good also. Never been on Symphony so we’ll see ?

Just checked right now and looks like my GTY became official as I have been assigned a balcony room on deck 11 for my October 16 cruise on the Symphony. Seems quick but I’m not complaining

I'm in the same boat, not the Allure, but the same situation ? I have a GTY for a balcony room on the Symphony for Oct 16. I also went ahead a bid the minimum on a Royal Up for the extra large balcony room. I'm 59 days out and don't suspect I will know until maybe a week out or so?? Hoping with reduced capacity that we will score a nice room. Either way, we are just looking forward to being aboard a cruise ship again!

Recently decided to go with MEI for my Alaska cruise and chose @Sharla to book my trip. I have always booked cruises myself and what a ordeal that has been in the past. I had to come on here and just let everyone know how wonderful she is! She has been SOOOO patient with me with my Alaska questions as well as recommendations for things to do in Seattle. I just received an email from her this morning telling me that there was a price adjustment for my May 2022 trip and saved me a lot of money! I consider this a Christmas in August gift! ? I have enough of a savings that I may try to move up in room class now. It's nice to know that she is there doing what she can to take care of her customers. Anyway, I am sure that all MEI staff are wonderful, but I just had to say Thank You to Sharla ?. What a pleasant experience to have her there for my wife and me. Thanks for the heads up! I was thinking about purchasing the UDP at $196PP, but add another $36 PP in gratuity and no thank you! That would be close to $470 for the 2 of us. Not worth it. I really hate this part of cruising where you are charged for every little thing possible! I'd almost rather pay a higher price for my cruise at the beginning if it included more. Don't like this new way of trying to generate money ?

Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this price as I have never purchased a UDP. With the current sale price, it is priced at $196 PP for the Symphony in October. Is this a good price or not? Pros and cons to the UDP?? Thanks all!

We are at 73 days until Symphony and my Royal App still only states GTY for stateroom. No deck or muster information. I also received a Royal Up email yesterday and placed a bid from a standard balcony room to a Ultra Spacious Ocean View w/Large Balcony. I suspect that I won't know where I am until a few days before sailing???

Was really hoping to add a few more things for our Oct 16 cruise on the Symphony, but like many others here, just no deals at all!! I'll keep checking up until the end, but I don't see prices coming down anytime soon. I still have not purchased anything for our May 2022 Alaska cruise. Hoping some decent sales before then!

Usually, you just have to keep checking the site. I have not seen any emails for cruise planner sales. Just make it a point to check every so often.

That seems to be the standard if you were lucky enough to purchase super super early like me and apparently you as well. At this point, I am hoping for decent prices come Black Friday for my May 2022 Alaska cruise. I have yet to purchase anything for that one as prices have been crazy expensive on almost everything
