They wrote me back this morning and offered to switch me to #22... the catch is that they don't actually have those new daybeds installed yet (that's why they aren't available on the website).

I told the woman that I'm not switching without seeing the view and asked a few follow up questions. She got back to me in like 5 minutes and said the new beds should be there in the next 2 weeks and she would send me a photo with the view from #22 as soon as they are installed so I can decide which one I want.

They really do seem to have excellent customer service. It was never a huge deal; I just wanted to politely complain a bit. I can't really fault them for placing a new revenue-generating daybed in an empty space that won't impact mine in any significant way. I think they're handling it well.

Now I get to debate which one I want once I have the new picture... is it weird that I'm kind of looking forward to that? Planning is part of the fun, especially when it's something simple like this, right?

So glad they got back to you so quickly with this possibility. I agree that their customer service is excellent. I’ll be curious to see the picture because the area where #22 is planned for, use to be a path that guests used to get from the pool area by daybed #6 to the beach area and there was an outdoor shower in that general area.  I can’t wait to see how they reconfigured the space. And yes, planning is fun! 🤩 I feel invested in this outcome so keep me posted!

#22 is taken btw or I would have just switched. You can login to your reservation and do stuff like that yourself. They actually have a really nice website.

Darn! Thats too bad. I am an early planner as well so I would be annoyed also.

, I just don't like spending time picking out something and putting down a deposit over 8 months in advance and then getting something slightly different. It's more about the principal. We'll see what they say.

    💯 agree.

Not a huge deal but we spent time choosing to be on the end for a reason. I may politely complain a little via e-mail.

I don’t blame you for being a bit annoyed. If you still prefer to be at the end I would email them and see if they can switch your daybed to #22. And don’t forget to use the RCBLOG promo code for 10% off.  I honestly don’t know how #22 will affect the traffic flow from the pool area to the beach but I am sure it’ll all be fine.

And @Jax I am tagging you on this because I know you texted me asking if I made final last week, and this was way to long to text back on my phone lol

🤯  I hope it gets sorted out soon. Just another reason to use a good TA that has experience with Royal “glitches”. I could not imagine paying the amount Royal claimed you owed only to have your cruise cancelled. 😡

Ah, so you made a decision! Nice!

    Yes I did!
Allure B2B this Christmas in a star loft and Wonder the following Christmas in a 2BR ATS.  I think I came close to driving Mindy crazy. LOL  I had so many holds, some with Royal and Celebrity. I was pleasantly surprised by Wonder pricing on a B2B; we all want to sail her so it was an easy decision.

I have to say that Portside does bbq better. Everything else at Mason Jar was good but the brisket left a lot to be desired. Meanwhile I could eat Portside brisket for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Well boo, let’s hope that changes in the next 647 days. Lol. Portside BBQ was such a nice option especially for lunch. And yes, agreed their brisket is the best. 😋

Flowriding is fun, but flowriding with friends is so much better ❤️

It sure is!! Definitely better in a group of friends.  That picture of hubby and Shane reminded me of a story he told us where a guest on the flowrider soaked him the week prior to our cruise. There is more to the story but after reviewing camera footage it was determined it was intentional and the guest lost their flowrider privileges for the week.  You will have to ask him about it because no-one tells a story quite like Shane.  IYKYK

I caught the look and thought of you right away!

Omg the look!! I know right! Masks were mandated a couple days before our Christmas cruise so I never saw the full look. wAll I could see was his eyes go big, his brow crease and a slight shake of his head. lol

He said he certainly could be perhaps a delivery of WJ food would be more enjoyable 😂

Haha I laughed out loud. He would say something similar to our friend Robert who would tease him about the jammer.  It’s all about onboard experience with Shane.

I will leave you all with this puzzle before bed…

    Ooh I love this! ❤️❤️

By this message I assume the Genie special happens after lunch and before supper.  You have already done the escape room, I don’t think it would be the flowrider because you don’t do that,  I don’t think you would go rock climb, not sure if you would do mini golf 🤔.  Knowing your goal to spend time in your suite he may be planning something along those lines. This is proving to be more difficult than I thought. I will wait for the morning clues. 🕵️ 🧐

While Hubby and the kids were gone, Shane was working his genie magic.

Later, when the kids and Hubby returned, he showed up with more.

This is one of the many reasons I love Shane ❤️❤️ He does celebrations like he does everything else; Go Big or Go Home.  😆

I zoomed in on the cake and need to know what kind it is. Looks yummy 😋

So four months later, what was the outcome?

She asked me to reach out to her closer to our upcoming cruise so she could apply some OBC or other perks. She and I have kept in touch since our first star class cruise that went a bit sideways and I always like to give a shout out to our genie and other crew that take such great care of us to the executive office.  In doing so I also shared some areas that fell short, the debarkation process and sewage problem being two of them.  Time will tell if they action any of these things.

    Current situation 😕

We had sewer gas gurgling and bubbling up in the master bath tub on HM this past December filling the master bedroom with sewer gas. I took a video and mentioned it to my contact at Michael Bayley’s office who called me post cruise.  She wanted me to send the video to her and she was not impressed by what she saw and heard.  It was being escalated.

Shane also mentioned that the captain has decided to push back sail away until 6pm because of all the flight delays from yesterday. Not sure if that is because they have a large number of guests who booked through Air2Sea? I thought that was rather interesting that they would do that. Really nice of them.

This happened to us also; I think it was with Shane on Oasis in 2021.  If not it was HM the following year.

Lunch was at Portside BBQ. And best part? Shane had time to join us for lunch!

Fantastic way to start a cruise. Tell Shane hi!
