ehw51 got a reaction from MarcBerger in Webcam viewing
I used to look at the web cams almost every day, now it´s depressing. I only look once or twice a week. LOL Though, I still price check daily and keep my fingers crossed.

We never stopped having back yard gatherings. It's not difficult to maintain space between individuals outside and the recommendations have always been "wear a mask indoors where the ability to maintain six feet of separation isn't possible."
Outdoors AND spaced apart - easy to do. And we've kept on keepin' on.

It's a good thing there are community guidelines on this blog to prevent me from typing up how I feel about this statement.

I’m assuming the Nassau announcement was the one that was going to be shared on Wednesday but something wasn’t quite ready for it

So far the CDC has proven its blind to evidence, dumb to science and unwilling to see anything beyond its own limited knowledge.
I'm not sure they'll even know.

Interesting how they're pulling a ship out of Europe instead of using one from "local" waters ..... There Has to be a reason, like, they're going to be using the "local" ships very soon and couldn't spare them. Hmmmm..... #SPECULATION

I read this news as I was waiting my 15 minutes after my first dose of the vaccine. Perfect timing!

Fares are already sky high for all 2021 sailings open to book right now. Don't see why this would be any different, especially being the first ones that will be real and certain to go.

I think this is Royal Caribbean Group raising a big middle finger to the CDC for dragging their feet around issuing documented guidelines and making it possible for test cruises to get underway. They demonstrated with weeks of successful sailings out of Singapore that their protocols work, even with an UN-vaccinated population; CDC still chose not to start moving forward, so Royal took their ball home and is starting a new game of their own with countries / island nations that are open to the protocols.

I just hope the CDC doesn't punish them for not conforming to their rule.

I tried to make sense of the word salad that was on the marquee, but thought The Gift might actually come together and be something good to photograph. Hint: It didn't and wasn't. Only RCI show I won't go back to. (As opposed to Grease and Once Upon a Time, which are fun after 12 shows each).

No, you can apply that credit towards purchases you make online. Once your travel agent applies the credit to your reservation, I believe it becomes available in the Cruise Planner.

I can’t find a single redeeming thing about Nassau. I find it to be a garbage dump personally w/ pushy locals and not much to see or do (safely). For us, Nassau, Falmouth & Honduras are days to enjoy an empty ship.

Running to the MDR right when we get onboard to book all of our specialty meals with the UDP ?
One day I will not be so OCD or such a worry wart about not getting what I want (that's one of the BEST BENEFITS of getting the UDP). We spent a good hour right when we got onboard to make sure we got all of our dining reservations sorted for the week... Not only did I not realize there are multiple places to make those reservations, but I also forgot that cruising is a fluid vacation... not a static one! Everything ended up changing after plans messed up our first nights' reservation! And we have never had any problems making a dining reservation for specialty dining. Maybe our preferred choice wasn't available when we wanted it, but we have always been able to make it work.
UDP/UBP = Stress LESS Drink MORE!

Nassau is a fun port with lots of things to keep you entertain for the entire time the ship is in port and I've never felt my safety or my husbands safety was threaten in Nassau. We always create our own shore excursions when in Nassau.
If your judgement of Honduras is based simply from the location of the port then you haven't seen what Honduras has to offer. I will say Honduras needs to do a better job of securing the port and street and shop outside the port. A lady did try to pick pocket but me and my husband but because we were attentive she couldn't get us. Having said that Honduras does have some beautiful beaches also there are a few island you can visit by just taking a short boat ride.
Jamaica is one of those islands that I just love, I love the people, the culture, the food, I've never felt like my safety or the safety of my husband was in jeopardy. Most times when we visit Jamaica we again we never book an excursion through Royal we always book our own or just do own thing.
Hopefully you will give these islands another try.

Here's an updated photo --- Everything above Deck 7 is gone and everything from the VCL forward is gone. Looks like the only thing left would be the Casino (Deck 5 aft) and the Main Dining Rooms (Decks 3 & 4 aft) ..... There is no Deck 6 aft on Sovereign

ehw51 reacted to Matt in Cayman Islands: Cruise tourism won’t be back before 2022 !!
The Cayman Islands #1 industry is finance, not tourism. They can afford to close borders whereas other Caribbean islands cannot.
I see this more a sign of them playing it safe, rather than an indication of what islands will or wont do.

Good on them ?
Basically stating you have the information beforehand and if you board ship then you do so with this knowledge and at your own risk so dont go filing lawsuits
