Can you use your pre purchased drinks package as soon as you embark on ship at your departures port? Or do you have to wait until the ship actually sails to use it?

Is there any time limit between ordering drinks when you have the drinks package? For example you have to wait 30 mins before your next drink? I’ve heard some cruise companies are implementing this... we’re booked on Explorer of the Seas for a Caribbean cruise and just wanted to check. Thanks

Does anyone know if you can get ‘doubles’ on spirits as part of the drinks packages? I like a large G&T and was wondering if this was allowed with the drinks package?
