That's the problem when you copy click bait sensationalized headlines. They misrepresent the situation.  This seems to be big cause of the exaggerated hysteria right now.

Leaving tomorrow on Symphony.  To anyone going on a cruise in the near future, I would suggest shutting off your social media,  as the shit talking crap you’ll take from your friends and acquaintances will be too much.
i thought we had up until 48 hours to cancel cruise, and wife and I were mulling it over yesterday morning only to learn that we had to cancel midnight the night before.  That made our decision for us.  Not throwing 8k down the drain to avoid a disease that is EVERYWHERE now.

The world has lost its mind, but I choose to use logic and common sense.  With everything I’m hearing about RC’s steps to screen passengers and precautions on the ship, at this time I feel more confident and safer  taking a cruise than a trip to the local Costco

I will post today as I go through the process what’s it’s like.

we just boarded serenade in lauderdale. It was no problem at all and there will only be 1,300 people on board!!  The temp scan was super easy and my 5 and 2 year old didn’t mind it at all. They just used a little handheld scanner and out a green light on the forehead. Check in was easy. Going to be a great 10 days!

We sailed on Anthem the week after it had it's 3 day quarantine last month, and I didn't hesitate or worry about it.  We don't have anything else scheduled until Ovation out of Seattle in August.  If the ship sails, we will be on it.  This media driven over blown panic is ridiculous, and the immediate and future economic ripple effects are going to be severe and long lasting.  People need to take some extra precautions, turn off the news and stay off social media.  If you are elderly or are in a high risk group, then yes, stay out of public places for a while until it clears up.  Normal, healthy people do not need to go into panicked hiding.  End rant.

Not canceling Symphony September 5th. Coronavirus is being over hyped by the media, more people have died from flu worldwide right now. I'll take my chances.

As a Travel Agent, I would be very cautious about doing anything like that as that is not ethical and if you have a Agent that does that, then I don't know how long that agent may be in business but if Royal ever found out they would not be pleased and they would be talking with the head of that agency that agent works for.  It could lead to the Agency losing access to the Royals agent booking site as well as the agent being fired.   That would not be a good choice for me.   The rules are there for a reason and they should be followed as required.

I hope that isn't a chlorine based product.
On newer ships that have an Advanced Wastewater Purification System anything with chlorine that goes down the drain is strictly forbidden.  The problem is that the waste water system uses a bioreactor in which good bacteria breakdown solids and prepare them for later stages in the purification process.  Eventually once wastewater is as pure as drinking water it is released into the sea.
Chlorine kills the good bacteria and breaks the bioreactor process.  That's a pretty significant event that greatly reduces the effectiveness of the system and can lead to some pretty serious issues in the wastewater treatment plant on board.
The ship uses specific cleaning chemicals that are compatible with the bioreactor that don't kill the good bacteria.
I understand what you are trying to do but understand there is a lot more to a ship's plumbing system compared to the typical household.  Be very careful bringing residential cleaning products onto a ship if they are going to go down the drain.
Wipes that are used to sanitize a cabin can contain bleach or variations of bleach because no one should be flushing wipes down the toilet.  Use as many wipes as you want to clean a cabin, just put them in the trash.

hopefully they will leave one beach for poor ppl like myself who cant afford to pay to swim or slide down a water slide to still enjoy Labadee.

I am guessing at some point, those who want to eat for free will have to go back to the ship to do that as it will ALL be pay to play and eat on these islands.

Next thing will be drinks packages not working while on the islands so they can really rape your wallets.....just wait.....mark my words..its a slippery slope and most ppl it seems are glad to slide down it.

Sounds about right.  Flu vaccines have a few drawbacks:
1).  They take about two weeks to be fully effective.
2).  They do not cover all strains.  The researchers each year have to make estimates on which strains will be the most prevalent.  There are always strains out there that we are not protected from.
Don't get me going about overeating.  My Dr. put me on a crazy diet.  In less than a month it will face the biggest test yet ... Cruising On A Diet.

Sounds like a horror movie title.

The funny thing is it came from the same text service number that our county court uses the night before you have jury duty to let you know if you have to show up or if you have been dismissed. DH opened his text, saw an old one from the court, and started to panic that he missed jury duty notification and was supposed to be there while we were gone. ?

I am super excited to announce my first oasis class ship. DRUM ROLL....Allure of the Seas 2021, October 31st-November 7th, GS 2- Bedroom. Apparently this year Allure will getting more beautiful so I will be sailing after the amp ?.  I was shocked that a GS 1 bedroom was the same price as a 2 bedroom. There was no way I was passing up the chance for an extra bathroom. I had the option of deck 9 or deck 12. Although room #12638 comes with an outside Jacuzzi on the balcony, I couldn't imagine it would be used. So I am doing room #9644, which looks like its in a decent enough area. I am also super excited because I will be in Sky class and also platinum in C&A.
This is actually part of my mother's bucket-list vacation. She only had three dream vacations; a trip to a foreign country, a trip to universal studios and a cruise to anywhere. We took her and my grandmother to Italy in 2017. In October of this year we are doing her first cruise. My brother said since she is getting old and possible senile..j/k she is in her "young*" 50s....we would make her Universal Studio dreams come true next year. He also said since we have to fly to Orlando, we should look for a cruise to make it worthwhile. FYI, I have brought my brother to the Royal side, he thinks all vacations should be cruises or cruise adjacent.
It is going to be a long 636 day wait but I am glad to have something to look forward to. I might even try my hand at blogging...rubs hands and cackles like an evil person.

I just got off the Explorer on the 24th of January and we enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed in the owners suite 1320 and it was very clean and everything was in great working condition. The suite attendant was very thorough and left us small surprises every day. The concierge on the ship was very personable and efficient and made sure that we were well taken care off. The poolside activities were fun and entertaining. The Company Men was a great show and the theater was filled with enthusiasm. We truly enjoyed the specialty restaurants Izumi and Chops; Giovanni’s did not meet our expectations. We had a fabulous time in Nassau at the dolphin encounter in Atlantis and enjoyed our complimentary entry to the water park. The lines were short and all the staff on Atlantis was very friendly and accommodating. We also loved the speedboat and snorkel experience in Labadee and the guide was very educational and pointed quite a bit of items out to look at and explore. We were very lucky and the water was turquoise and very clear. We truly got spoiled at Barefoot beach and may have had a Labadoozie or two ;). Great ship and wonderful experience!
