I was thinking the same thing and just decided to take a shuttle to the cruise terminal instead. If you go to the MCO website, there is a link to travel options to the cruise port. 

Completely understand. We did a 7 day b2b on Harmony and it was fantastic. If you can manage the financial side of it, I would do it. It was such a great experience to be on the ship for so long. 

Since airfare is a big part of the overall cruising expense for us , I helped justify the second cruise by saying, “I’m already there, so I don’t need to buy another plane ticket”.  ?

Perfect example of why to just use a GOOD travel agent and let them deal with this sort of thing.

I have priced out a few NCL with the All inclusive or All 5 offers included type thing....rarely does it make it much cheaper. Or you end up paying a little more but maybe getting some extra perks which you may or may not use.
 
That being said, I am surprised Royal hasn't done this...as they could prob make more $$ by making everyone pay for it, knowing that  everyone wouldn't use all the perks included.

I’m just curious why you would care how others felt about the loyalty program based on what happened to you. I don’t get the point of your question other than to cause an uproar. The loyalty program doesn’t guarantee you anything other than the perks stated on the website. 

Only one correction to that statement -- "Best thing about any balcony on sea days is the ability to enjoy the ocean without the crowds."
I've only had side balconies, albeit on the "hump", and had zero complaints about my view of the ocean or my ability to hear its sounds and smell its smell with no other passengers mucking it up for me. I'll agree it's a lot more expansive a view from an aft balcony, but any ocean view on a (non-virtual) balcony is better than no ocean view from no balcony.

We booked a 2021 sailing with MTD and we didn’t prepay our gratuities. Our TA asked if we wanted to prepay and we said no. No issues at all. Of course, we booked a couple of months ago. 

Did anyone look at the small print at the bottom and see the year of this ad?

Umm, nope.  Have not been so fortunate.  Usually, it's the other way around.  It feels like it goes by way too fast!

We live in Worcester, MA and we drive down the day before for the same reason we fly down to Florida the day before - to avoid the stress of something coming up that is completely out of our control - traffic, weather, construction, etc etc etc.   We also like to get on the ship right at 10:30 am, which would mean waking everyone up by 4:00 am for the drive (again to factor in several additional hours just to be safe).  Yes, it's an added cost, but one that helps me feel a whole lot more relaxed at the start of my vacation. 

Surprisingly, it was the cheapest 7 day that I could find, given the criteria that I put in. I'll take it! LOL 

We always fly out of JFK when we book travel out of NYC - tried Laguardia once and the traffic was horrible.  Haven't tried it again.
We are booked on Oasis in August and will be driving down the day before. We were on Harmony last summer and if Oasis is anything like Harmony (she should be) it will be awesome.  I love the Oasis class ships. There is so much to do, not just for the adventurer, but for all.  When we were on Harmony, we never felt like it was over-crowded. The entertainment was fantastic - Grease was awesome, the comedians and pub singers were equally as good.  I highly recommend you catch many of the videos floating around you tube in addition to any of the blogs from @Matt in regards to the Oasis class ships.  There are a few on the newly amplified Oasis and it would do you good to watch them to get a feel for them.

Yes, the Oasis will be doing a short run out of Cape Liberty in mostly warm weather.  Those cruises have been for sale for a while now, so it might be tricky getting yourself the best deal.  But if you find something you and your children like, my opinion would be to consider it.  The Oasis is quite a marvel to explore and the entertainment is wonderful - so much to see and do.  Those 7 day cruises will make a great first cruise for you and having those extra days to explore NYC will just add to the experience that much more...

Double check Anthem's Solarium - we love it!  What a great space.  The 3 tiered pool is really sweet, partly because it usually offers different amounts of sun (on sunny days of course).  We find it usually to be not too crowded and offers plenty of ways to relax (read, swim, enjoy the view, board games (on the tables), crafts, naps, Patriots podcasts, swing, hot tubs, drinks, lounge chairs in the water, lounge chairs with pillows, left & right outside above bridge lookouts...).  Also, for colder (NE) itineraries, it comes in handy as they keep it quite warm in there.
We also love the Music Hall, although it doesn't seem to be used as much for live bands as it has in the past.

We have day passes to the beach club the first week of Feb. As far as I know, the beach club is not yet open. Hopefully later this month.
