I thoroughly enjoy loudly replying to public speakerphone conversations as though they were speaking to me.  If they're going to involve me in the conversation, so be it.

As many people have already stated, there's storage both above your seat and in racks by the doorways on the Amfleet cars they run on the Northeast Corridor trains.  The overhead bins are open and far more spacious than airline overheads; they can even hold many full-sized "checked" luggage types of bags.  The conductors are also pretty creative in helping you find space for your belongings if need be.  The official baggage policy is that each person may bring one personal item up to 25 lbs. (14"x11"x7") and TWO carry-on items of 50 lbs. each (28"x22"x14"), but I've seen people drag on WAY more than that.  I'm attaching photos of the end racks and the overhead bins for reference.

It's the same thing on Amtrak. There are places in the front of the cars for luggage. I think you'll be just fine and excellent choice taking Amtrak. After cruises on big ships trains are my favorite mode of transportation. Love it!

We just took Amtrak from Virginia to Bayonne in October with 2 large suitcases and 2 carry on size. There is
room above seats for carry on size and in the front of each car for the large suitcases.

I took the NE Regional between Alexandria and Philadelphia recently and there was space near the door for luggage in at least some of the cars. I also saw some of the conductors helping people pull their luggage on and off of the cars, up and down the steps.

I totally agree.  Imagine someone listing a set of opinions, asking for thoughts and then getting prickly when those thought weren't in line with their own.

Apps showing schedules allow flexibility that paper schedules don't.  They can be updated throughout the day if the weather/illness/etc causes a change to an activity/show/etc.  It's also more environmentally friendly than printing something that is only valid for a single day.
You can eat at the same time with the same waiter whether you do "My Time Dining" or traditional.
There's no shuffleboard because most of Royal (and Carnival's) guests have never played it!
Much of your complaints are a generational issue.  I mean this in the kindest way possible, but it sounds like you are older than the target market for the mainstream cruise lines.  There's nothing wrong with that, but you may need to seek out smaller, more luxurious cruise lines to find what you are looking for.

I see your logic, but my counter is
Literally no one is going to book a cruise just to purchase a model. Many people have reported that the models are not available when they are on a ship, so what are they to do in that case? It is what it is, It's Royal's decision to make, I just don't agree with it.

This is an interesting development.  A few weeks ago I was at a local NJ attraction that had a sign posted at their ticket office that said that effective immediately they were no longer accepting AAA passes due to "delayed payment and lack of communication."  🤔

Are you doing coach, or do you have roomettes/bedrooms?  On Texas Eagle, from Chicago to San Antonio has "Flexible Dining" in the dining car, which is a generous term for microwaved meals.  That said, even those microwaved meals are a step up from what's in the cafe car.  The cafe car is fine for a short commuter trip where you just forgot to eat and need a quick snack, but fr real sustenance it gets old real quick.

    Generic Amtrak Cafe Car menu
Also to note: I have been on trips where no cash was accepted and it was card only, and I've been on trips where the CC reader was broken and the cafe was cash only. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@WAAAYTOOO I would watch the movie and think this can't be true 🤣😂😂😂. Unfortunately it is and it continues to be a good mess.
@SweetPea she has booked her flight for the morning and we will get her an Uber from the airport to the hotel.
So new vintage has the gift of gab. She talked the staff into letting all of us board through the assistant lounge. Its for seniors and those infirmed. We sat there and enjoyed our hot meal which was different for everyone and from Chick-fil-A, Robinsons ribs, and Sbarro pizza. There was also more food brought and stored in hot/cold bags. People brought tons of junk snacks and no real food or fruit. But back to the lounge, it was clean and sectioned in a way that made it feel like you weren't at a crowded station.
We boarded and all the vintages sat separately in window seats even though I mentioned more people would get on. As soon as that happened they all were brand new. The new vintage proceeded to flirt with all the train personnel,  it was so funny. The blind gentleman could hear and proclaimed loudly that all the women with him are off limits and " if you trying to holler" you need his approval 😉 😜 😀.  The new vintage told him to stop messing up her game. Thankfully only a few people were on because she gets a ton of attention. I was also informed that I need to plan an Alaskan cruise on Norwegian for the group. I just walked away.
